      @@donaldbanner2185 Hi Donald, let me explain. I am wanting to move out of my Tesla into possibly a PHEV or Hybrid. I wanted to go to Mercedes, BMW or Audi, but after MUCH research on their reliability problems, still ongoing, I am circling back to Lexus. So, I am starting my research here. I am not keen on the whole eCVT thing, but is early days. Just watched a 40 minute video on it's internal guts and how it works. Pretty amazing actually.

      You considering the RX450h+? One reason to get the RX is for more space and a little better quality in the interior materials. I wanted the F Sport to have the adaptive variable suspension and also the F Sport looks. The RX does not offer that with the PHEV.

    Great two year review, LSFT!! With regards to tyres, have you considered going to a 245/50 R20? The stock 235/50 is an uncommon size and therefore are more expensive. I got a screw in an unrepairable part of the Alenza's and decided to replace all four with non RFT. Decided to try the Pirelli Scorpion AS plus 3 in a 245/50. They are quieter and because they're slightly wider, car seems to handle a little better. Tyre is slightly taller so there is a difference in indicated speed and mileage however I haven't been able to accurately measure what that difference is. We have lost about 3 total miles on EV guess o meter that I'm attributing to the newer tires. Love your vids, keep up the good work!

    • @lsft
      @lsft  2 місяці тому +1

      I haven't considered getting wider tires and some autoshops don't allow that to be installed.
      The mileage difference is:
      Reading -> Actual
      20mph -> 20.2 mph
      30mph -> 30.3 mph
      40 mph -> 40.4 mph
      50 mph -> 50.5 mph
      60 mph -> 60.6 mph
      70 mph -> 70.7 mph
      80 mph -> 80.8 mph
      90 mph -> 90.9 mph
      I'm still thinking of what to get, but will consider when time gets closer.

    • @donaldbanner2185

      Hmmm IMO, larger tires there-by changing gearing and speedo...usually not a good Idea....additionally, wider tires add more friction and cut Down Mileage both on Full Elec and hybred. There is a Michelin tire with the OEM specs and I use them and have already commented on the PLUSES IMO!

      @@donaldbanner2185 we’re talking like 10mm of difference in overall width. It’s not that much taller or wider than OEM. Even at 100mph it’s like 1 mph off. Hardly a concern.     Thanks LSFT, fascinating video. I've now done about 14,000km and a lot of it has been country driving. I've had no issues and charging at home has been free as we have solar on the roof of our house.(Australia has lots of sunlight) A few thoughts from me;
    1. I can't understand why anyone would want to change from the 'run flat' tires? The suspension is calibrated to them and besides, there's no room for a spare? - LSFT do you rotate yr wheels regularly?
    2. EV range for me fluctuates between 65km and 71 km, depending on whether I'm driving on freeways.
    3. I have a couple of minor rattles behind the drivers side air vent that only shows up when on a corrugated road so will be interesting if they test it at the first service?
    Haven't had any recalls or issues and the phone charges (iPhone 13Pro) trouble free BUT it gets very hot if I'm using CarPlay and Apple Music at the same time.
    LSFT - In my opinion 'High Beam' is set too low - How do you find it?
    Thanks again for a great channel.

    • @lsft
      @lsft  2 місяці тому +1

      Thanks for the feedback.
      To respond to your questions: #1 - the run flats are more expensive and the life of them don't last as long as normal low resistance tires. Depending on your needs, some people would just get non-run flat tires as they are a bit quieter and last longer. Some people aren't lucky and gets a nail in their tire 2-3 weeks after delivery and some would never see a puncture. So people would take the chance.
      #2 - It fluctuates because EV range drops when you drive fast. Anything about like 80km/hr would cos the battery usage higher. If you drive on local roads, the range would be much better.
      #3 - My iPhone 14 Pro seems to do well with the replacement charger. It doesn't over heat at all for me. Wonder if it's Apple Music as I use Spotify.
      #4 - I find the high beams sufficient for me. If not, cars on the opposite end would flash at me more frequently.
      Thank you for your continued support!!!

      @beefbeefbeef4, when I got my NX, I was not use to the the brakes as well. Took a while to master it so that there is no jerking when stopping. The RX has more insulation and it really depends what model you get the RX350 vs NX350, or the RX450h+ or the NX450h+. If you want a larger vehicle or not. I have a 2022 Lexus NX350 and just wondering if you or anyone has experience with Brake Dust on the car? After you washed the car ,you noticed tiny rust spots on the car. All they are is this little flakes of metal that gets stuck on the outside of your paint, especially on the sides of the car. They're rust orange and they're very noticeable on a white car. It occurs from brake pads, when you break a little metal particles land on the car or a snow prowlers drive-by and scrape their metal ploughs along the floor. Little metal flexes fly off and land on the paint. you have to use Iron X or Iron remover to get it off. The best way is to get Brake Pads that create the least dust. I know the car still new but if anyone used different brake pads, Not OEM brake pads. Please let me know the name of the brake pads. Thank you.

    • @lsft
      @lsft  2 місяці тому

      This is common even with the first gen NX or even Lexus vehicles. For my Cadmium Orange NX, it shouldn't show up that easily. You could use a clay bar to remove the orange spots as well. But white is a common Lexus color and yes they show much easily on the paint. I'm still far from needing to replace my pads. The service advisor says that I don't brake enough and it's causing rust.
