    Really great video instructions. THANK YOU. I just started my Maticoopx up this evening with 26 chicken mixed farmyard breeds off of ebay. Your instructions were great. I will let you know how they turn out. Other videos on raising the new peeps would be helpful as well. You have a great calm teaching voice.

      Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I spent two weeks in ICU back in January of this year. I ended up getting a respiratory infection in my lungs caused from my birds so I had to give all of them away. So I'm sorry but I don't have anymore birds to make videos with. I can still answer any questions that you might have and I'll be glad to help any way I can.

    Just my observation, the egg turner doesn't seem to move the eggs as much as the Nurture Right 360. To me, it looks like it doesn't really turn them completely over. Is the movement that it does enough?

    • @milkmoneyminifarm
      @milkmoneyminifarm  Рік тому +3

      You want to move the eggs just enough to move the embryo around. If you don't then it might grow into one side of the membrane. I've actually had a higher success rate with the Maticoopx then with the Nurture Right.

      I tried with the vent halfway open and humidity raised to 70% that's why I put less water in and open the vent a bit more but I have put water in 2 times today or is it normal for humidity to be that high even 3 to 4 hours after installing it and I have to keep giving it time to adjust I'm really confused or do I keep the vent bit more open with a little less water in it so I can get 55 to 60 humidity level and keep adding water every time it goes low

      Fill up the small chamber completely. Use the vent to control the humidity. You can open and close it as you like. I adjust mine all of the time. I only add water when it gets low. Adding water will initially make your humidity drop for just a little bit. It will go back to normal shortly. Your humidity should be somewhere between 50-55%. Temp should be set at 99.5 for chicken eggs.

    So no more than 10 days from nest to incubator or What is the best time range

    • @milkmoneyminifarm
      @milkmoneyminifarm  Рік тому +1

      I have had hens that have sat on nest of 30 eggs. If they only laid one egg per day then that would have been 30 days. Out of those 30 egg nest, I remember several of the hens hatching 28-29 of those eggs. So I would say no more than a month. With the incubators, I typically try to stay under 2 weeks but I have hatched eggs that have sat on the counter for up to three weeks. Just make sure that you turn the eggs at least once per day and try to keep them at around 70 degrees until you are ready to put them in the incubator. I actually have around 20 eggs that are sitting on the counter now. They were laid somewhere between Jan. 12th and Jan. 24th. I have a incubator that is about to free up in a couple of days. I could try those eggs and see how they do if that is something that you think people would want to see.
