    People still complaining about this cars size and weight? That is part of the appeal. It makes the best daily driver of the three with good size back seats and a town car size trunk. If you care strictly about the performance and have a little over 30k to spend get the mustang.

      Mustang gets all unhinged on bumpy roads and it's not drivable in the snow. Too small and really cheaply made.

    the Hemi sounds so much better than the 5.0 in the Stang.. I'm sorry but the Hemi sounds great all round where as the 5.0 to me sounds best at 3 grand and up.

      The old shakers from the '70's SHOOK at idle...because old engines didn't idle as smoothly as engines today.

    If you make a review you should do it with an honest review. Your head rubs the roof ( give me a break ) lower the seat. Watching your vid I didn't see your head rub all I saw was a lot of clearance.

    The only difference I see from the hemi, to the shaker is just the intake and the trans, overall all ppl, would have to do if they upgrade it, would just be the power input. So 5th/6th gear comes in handy with a greater too speed.

    Cool and all but: the thing is massive yet inefficient and impractical. Carrying around a 5.7L V8 that makes about as much torque as a tuned VWAG 2.0T doesn't help.

    • @weedmastersr
      @weedmastersr 10 років тому +1

      Joel D Also, the HEMI is naturally aspirated and a much better engine. Being naturally aspired, it's not that heavy either. Not the engine makes the car heavy but its size and other components. Also, this isn't supposed to be a practical car, it's supposed to look good, and it excels at it. This is probably one of the best looking cars in the world right now, and it's got that old school charisma. The Gti is cool but in it's own different, hot hatch way. There's not point in comparing a hot hatch with a muscle car. Two different philosophies.

    • @JoJoJoker
      @JoJoJoker 10 років тому

      That's true it's naturally aspirated but it's still kinda lacking given the engine size. From a performance standpoint alone it is lacking relative to others. The ATS has a 2.0T, twin turbo V6s are sweet as well. Even the 2.4 L mustang has over 300 HP. Yeah it has a turbo and all but it just kinda begs the question: why buy a big 5.7 for no performance benefit.

    • @JoJoJoker
      @JoJoJoker 10 років тому

      But I do agree there is a certain romanticism towards these cars and that's fine. But tech has moved on. Mercedes even knows this. They make some of the best naturally aspirated engines out there. And they basically created this car so that's not too far fetched of a statement.

    • @weedmastersr
      @weedmastersr 10 років тому

      Joel D I agree with you too, but that HEMI still remains a great engine, even though it might seem a little antiquated in today's turbocharging crazed world, but it still has great reliability and power for a NA engine, especially when it comes to the torque numbers. Although, when it comes to NA engines I do like GM's new LT1 V8 found in the Corvette Stingray much more.

    I don't understand why some US cars have so little inside space when they are so big on the outside? The new BMW 4-series for example seems to have more leg room, even the back seat, and head room. Cadillac is another example that has less space, specially back seat, than all their BMW counter parts in 3 and 5-series.
    And why not put just a tiny bit more effort to fix those small issues with steering and noise on this car? It would turn out to be a much better car with just a little bit more effort. And offer it with different engines so it can be imported to Europe and other places. Even in Europe many would buy it on that mighty presence alone. But maybe not with that engine. A modern and less thirsty V8?

    • @Dgannt
      @Dgannt 10 років тому

      ***** Agree, it's an expeensive car with expensive services. But I wish some of these US cars would get imported to Europe. I think it's just lasy to not make an effort to fix some of these cars a bit better. OK, they would cost a bit more but the improvements would be worth it. I love the new Hellcat. Wish it was sold in Europe.

    • @TomazHilton
      @TomazHilton 10 років тому +7

      Idiot... the Shaker is real... If this car was CARBONATED it wouldnt need a seperate air cleaner. Air goes through the Shaker, then goes through the Air Cleaner... then goes to the intake for the motor..

    • @mgibbs88
      @mgibbs88 10 років тому

      Tomaz Hilton really, the car is carbonated like a beverage? No it is fake, the filter is clearly open to get air from anywhere in the hood. If it were real there would be a seal between the intake and the filter so air only comes from the shaker

    • @TomazHilton
      @TomazHilton 10 років тому +1

      blame cell phone Auto Correct.. "Carbureted" is what i ment. And did you bother to look Under the actual hood?? when the hood is closed, It seals off the Air CLeaner box

    • @mgibbs88
      @mgibbs88 8 років тому +2

      ***** If I were to put a rag over the hood scoop the engine would run normally. The hood scoop merely blows ram air onto the air box, it is not necessary for the function of the engine. I like it when someone is wrong and they proceed to insult someone. The hood scoop and the air box don't feed air. ONLY the air box feeds air, and the hood scoop CAN provide ram air to it, but it doesn't have to.

    • @yeihezzel1
      @yeihezzel1 10 років тому

      Charles Kratochvil Why do you say 0-60 doesn't need to be mentioned? A car that challenges the Challenger Hellcat is the Nissan GTR. The Nissan has much less horsepower than the Challenger Hellcat, and a much smaller engine than the Challenger Hellcat, but the Nissan GTR goes 0 to 60 in only 2.7 seconds, while the Challenger probably does well over 3 seconds. The 0-60 is very important in a car that suppose to have 707 horsepower.

    • @yeihezzel1
      @yeihezzel1 10 років тому

      Charles Kratochvil Oops. I make a mistake it's not a Hellcat. But why do you say 0-60 doesn't need to be mentioned?

    • @tomkelly5966
      @tomkelly5966 10 років тому

      E-race the hate
      First off the Hellcat is 35000 +cheaper and larger than the GTR and can do quarter mile in 10.8 stock with drag radials. The GTR never was in the 10's stock, although the new NISMO version should be. The GTR is a fantastic car and should be compared to AWD cars, for RWD, slicks are needed to make an accurate comparison 0 - 60.

    RT is slow, I took it for a test drive. The shaker hood adds nothing what like 5 HP. Dodge should be ashamed at disrespecting the Challenger RT of old. This is not fast it is suppose to be a Muscle car, only thing it is suppose to accomplish is going fast in a straight line... it is a failure. Don't get me wrong looks great, but SRT is too expensive for most so RT is only option SMH. Looks like they want people to give there money to other companies.

    • @OddTimeMan
      @OddTimeMan 10 років тому +4

      You don't know what you're talking about. Close to 400 HP and over 400 lb. ft. of torque is NOT slow. Back in the '80's I had a '71 Pontiac Firebird Formula 400. That was a real muscle car but it had LESS HP than my 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T, it got WAY worse gas mileage, and it took corners WAY worse.

    • @OddTimeMan
      @OddTimeMan 10 років тому +2

      "Looks like they want people to give there money to other companies"??? First of all, it's "their", not "there". Secondly, since Dodge brought back the Challenger in 2008, sales have been INCREASING every year (most car sales drop over time)! That's why they haven't changed the body style. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

    • @coolvideo28
      @coolvideo28 10 років тому +1

      OddTimeMan
      RT has 375HP Not almost 400 and it is so heavy. It has a real world 0-60 of about 6 sec. Do you know how many cars could smoke this pathetic 0-60 time this day in age. We are not in the 80's perhaps if you take this RT back then you might be able to win a race with it lol. Just because you failed at your life long dream of becoming a teacher does Not make it okay for you to come here and try to correct comments it is funny though lol.
      Don't get me wrong I love the Challenger love the body it looks great it just doesn't do the old RT justice it was fast compared to other cars of it's day. This new Challenger RT is not fast compared to other cars of it's day. I liked it so much I almost bought one, until I took it for a test drive. It did not "feel" like it was much faster than my GMC Acadia. To say I was let down was an understatement. It is a beautiful car and not slow by any means enjoy it and have a great day.

    • @OddTimeMan
      @OddTimeMan 10 років тому +3

      coolvideo28 1. I read an article saying Dodge purposely underrated the R/T and it's actually 390 HP (the early SRT's had a 425 HP 6.1 liter engine which is why Dodge underrated the R/T...they didn't think people would spend an extra $10k for just 35 more HP). So yes, 390 is close to 400.
      2. Are you a professional racecar driver? I (like most people) am not. I don't care about 0-60 times. 5 seconds or 6 seconds...it makes no difference. My R/T is my daily driver.
      3. I didn't realize only teachers are supposed to know the difference between "there", "their" and "they're". My bad.

    • @coolvideo28
      @coolvideo28 10 років тому

      OddTimeMan
      You can check youtube videos of dyno's of the stock RT it's no were near 390 HP. I don't understand why you spent all the extra money on the RT if you don't care about 0-60 you could have just gotten the V6. Either way It is a beautiful car it's plenty fast for a daily driver and I hope you enjoy it. I did not mean to insult you for getting one. I just was disappointed when I took one for a test drive. Enjoy your HEMI and have a great day.
