Not sure but I think the pulley on the engine shaft is installed backwards. The flat portion on the shaft would work perfectly with the set screw on the pulley. The belt alignment would also work straighter and better. Just an idea from watching this video. A really nice solid edger for sure...and you did it justice too... Thumbs Up!
Excellent restoration work, congratulations 👍👍👍👏👏👏. Just one question: what is this device for or what is its use? Would it be a vertical edger? All the trimmers I know of cut the grass horizontally. Thanks in advance for answering. Greetings from Argentina.
@@AJRestoration thanks for the swift response. But ah man! It's a pity you're so far. I'm in Cape Town and wanted you to do some work on my offset smoker. Would be really awesome.
I could not get any definitive info on this since the company that made this could not really help with identifying it. They said it could be at least 60 to 80 years old. Now in all honesty 80 years might be a bit of a stretch.
@@AJRestoration honestly 60 years for this kind of machine is a venerable age. The most important thing is what it has become in your hands. Well done again
@@AJRestoration You are a correct person, you say the truth 👍. BUT it's exemplar that a machine will work like a new one after restoration. HOW EVER I'M NOT AN EXEMPLAR PROFESSIONAL because I'm not doing restorations and I see you're videos for fun. Thank you very much for the fun you give me 👍.
It's amazing. 👍👍
Great job! The only thing that shows it's age is the quality of it's construction!
That's a nifty restoration. Machinery Restorer would be proud.
I watch his videos haha, its a great inspiration for me.
Beautiful transformation as always I hope your little apprentice and whole family are well and have a wonderful Easter
Thank you George! I hope you also had a wonderful Easter!
Another awesome restoration, I would love to see a demo!
I wanted to do a demo, but I did not want to scuff up the paint job.
@@AJRestoration That's understandable
🤨 ~ you wouldn’t normally paint the blade, just leave it bare/blue it for rust protection. I was looking forward for a demonstration 😕
Top job dude 👉👉👉. Great result 👏👏👏. New Sub here for your hard work and effort 🙏. 😎
Thank you so much 👍 Welcome to the family!

Thank you Ms Kayla, I appreciate every one of your comments! You rock!
Brand new !
Hi AJ soos altyd weer n volmaakte restorasie 🎉🎉
Baie baie dankie!
I like how you re.did the wheel and tires on this classic edging machine save the money by doing that there A .J
Also you can't buy these wheels anymore so I had to use the old wheels.
@@AJRestoration that is a great idea because of not being able to get the new ones any more
Well done was looking forward to a demo . Regardless though nice restoration
Thanks 👍 I didn't want to ruin the paint job.

Thank you very much for the comment, I did play around with the pulleys and this is the best I could get it so the v-belt aligns the best.

Its for cutting the edges of your lawn. The blade can be tilted so it cuts horizontally. Thank you for the great comment.
@@AJRestoration Thank you very much for your reply. Greetings.
Nice restoration. Did you sharpen the blades of that edger?
It was still in good shape despite the rust.
Hi there, where in South Africa are you guys based?
Based in Pretoria, Centurion.

@@debt172sop839 Damn that is sad! I do have plans to move to Cape Town some time in the future. Maybe then I could help you out.
Excelente !
Hi! Good job, came out nice.
Jbly one question: You restore "Made in UK" items. Why do you use metric-sized wrenches?🤯
This one is made in South-Africa.
are you sure this machine is 80 years old?

👍👏
Please, use the machine to show it works correctly.
I did not want to damage the paint work. Its more of a display piece, but I can guarantee you it works great.

How did it go from a 3.5hp to 2.0? The stickers are different
Its a 2 HP engine with a 3.5HP blower housing. Its not the original blower housing.
