This is a cast iron bread cutter guillotine produced by the German company AlexanderWerk by the end of the 19th century..
It was in very bad shape, pretty much rusted.
I thought it would be an easy, quick project but this is the most difficult I have ever done.
I spent a few days on the blade....
I've been trying to re-use most of the parts but some of them were really too damaged.
By supporting the channel you help me make more of these video and find more amazing items.
I hope you'll enjoy this restoration.

That is one of the nicest restorations I've seen so far . Well done 👏
Glad you enjoyed ! Thank you 🙌 🙌
He really put a lot into this one didn't he. The new toys (tools) made it even more fun to watch too. He's always done some great stuff, but it seems he gets better and better every video.
Agreed! I watch a ton of these and I’ve never seen a better one. Subscribed!
I'm living in germany since 40 years and never heard nor saw anything from the company AlexanderWerk until I got hooked to such restorations. And now I watched at least 20 vids about cheese graters, bread cutters or sausage stuffers from them during the last two years. 😅
Oh really 😅 !! That’s funny ! I thought everyone in Germany knew Alexanderwerk...
Alexander Werk himself could not have imagined that his instruments could look so great
Haha. I loved the laser cut letters. I was thinking you were going to some how braise in letters but that was pretty clever. A heck of a lot less work than anything I was cooking up in my head.
Yes, that was pretty slick! Didn't see it coming! I would have done it a different way and screwed it up. 😊
I wanted to make the letters of steel... been a bit lazy I must admit 😋
The most unorthodox and creative way to remove a pin I have ever seen :) great work on this one again.
😅 Thanks a lot mate 🙏
I’m amazed that you were able to save the original wood parts!!!
Fantastic job!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Many thanks 😃
Everytime, I don't know what's the best: the sheer top-notch work, the state-of-the art technology used (in conjunction with good ol' tricks of the trade like linseed oil or old playing cards used to smoothen up resin filler) or the virtuoso filming and editing. And thanks again for the parti-pris of silent treatment, without any superfluous comment or invasive background music. So rare and so relaxing on YT. ❤️👍'
Thanks again Jean for watching and commenting.👍👍👍 Your support is very important to me. It encourages me to continue my work with new videos. See you soon 😉
So beautiful. ASMR for workshop people. Brought me back memories when younger and had to fix farm and forest tools: hilts, bolts, handles and edges. My respects!
Thanks a lot ! Glad it brings back good memories 🙌
I gotta say, this is top notch restoration. I love the new toys you got too. That Lazer is awesome, no mess and looks like it does a little bit of everything. The close ups, great editing, adding the letters back in flawlessly and phenomenal work. Freakin awesome bud, I didn't think your channel could get better than it already was, I was wrong. Bravo sir 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 amazing job. Love your channel
Wow Frankie thank you so much for these nice words I really do appreciate it 🙌 Glad you enjoyed
What I so enjoy is that you make things better than new. A true perfectionist.
Thank you !! I did my best 😌🙌
I am simple, i see bread, i am happy
Saw the clip of this bread cutter on Facebook so I had to come find the whole video! I love these restoration videos. I get to see things I never knew existed and how they work! Keep up the amazing work!! Excellent video! I shall binge watch the rest!
Thank you very much !!! Glad you appreciated it 😌🙏
not only do I get to watch an artist repairing an old heap in to the once beauty it was, I get to see fine cinematography....a win!
Many thanks !
Great restoration and results brother👍 The wood color and the golden outline looks perfect!✨
Thank you so much mate 🙌 Glad you enjoyed 😌👍🏻
I cannot believe how nice this turned out! I was surprised to see such rough casting surfaces on the iron parts but you did a fantastic job of making it look like the manufacture no doubt envisioned for this. Thanks for sharing this tutorial.
Thanks to you for watching and commenting ! Glad you enjoyed !
Absolut 👍👍👍
Danke vielmals !👍
Alexander would be proud!
I hope 😊
To be in the area of 140 years old I say it looked pretty good to begin with. Yeah it was dirty and rusty but for it's age was in pretty good shape. Now for the restoration part, to use virtually all the original parts (wood included) was incredible and those screws may have looked like they seen better days but again they were 140 years old. In all a great job (LoL) incredible restoration
Thank you !! 🙌
Another masterpiece! Such a pleasure to watch! Thank you 💕
Thanks to you for watching and commenting ! Glad you enjoyed it mate 👍
Du bist ein wahrer Künstler. 👍👍
That is some serious, next-level restoration. Wowzers. I love the "re-addition" of the letters. "This is a work of art".
Many thanks Clay ! I try to improve myself with each restoration ! Glad you enjoyed it😊
A better job than the original manufacturer!
Thank you 👍
that is an absolute classical restoration well impressive
Thank you !!
Man, that vintage bread looked like a real treat. 😋
another phenomenal job!
The fix for the letters was amazing!
Excellent restoration - far better than the usual UA-cam attempts. That was a pleasure to watch.
Many thanks 😊
Well done . It turned out beautiful. Thanks for sharing the video.
Thanks to you for watching and commenting 👍
Impressed with the reproduction of the missing letters. Truly a master restorer.
I love u sooooo much. You restore soo many cool antiques, and my personal favorite is the candy drop.
Thanks a lot. I'm very flattered that you confuse me with the Rescue and Restore's channel (for the candy drop)🤭😊👍
That turned out absolutely beautiful ❤️. I love old gadgets like this.
Thank you very much 👍
Absolutley impressive in so many ways!
I love those sharp close-up shots - so satisfying. Thanks for this video!
Thanks to you for watching and commenting. Glad you enjoyed 😊
Simply the world championship. Perfect work with metal. I really liked the way to complete the inscription on the cast iron. It turned out brilliant. Also, the very fact that you have kept the original wooden parts shows how carefully you approach the issue. Kind regards
Thanks a lot Mate 😌🙌
That bread at the end is making me hungry - great job!
Your videos are always therapeutic, i love them :D
Thank you ! Glad you liked it 😌👍🏻
Impressive.
Can't believe you even reused and fixed the original wood planking.
Hi Damien ! And thanks ! I think I should have changed the wood but I wanted to keep as much original parts as possible... Would have been more stable with new wood...
@@TheFabrik indeed, an hard choice, as old wood have a unique and lovely patina...
Excellent workmanship, restoration
Just when I think the last restoration was the best yet, along comes another one! I didn't expect you to be able to save the timber, lovely to see. 😊
Thanks a lot. I try to improve myself every time! I hope my next restoration will be even better 🙌

Thanks a lot Patrick ! I try to get better every time😊
Clever solution with the lettering.
Love the creativity in the different techniques for certain processes instead of the same thing every time. And the camera angles.
Excellent work as always.
You make it look so easy lol
Thank you very much !!
Never seen a mill use for polishing.... nice!!
Beautiful Restoration
Thanks a lot mate !👍
As always fabulous workmanship. And - if I am wrong - a first: "I'll keep some of the patina." That is very good news.
Amazing work
Your excellent video and editing quality, in addition to your attention to detail and artisanal workmanship, and your perfect restorations, make your channel the best channel in all of YT for restorations, thank you very much for your work, I send you greetings from southern Argentina.

Lol Alan 😅 Thank you !! 🙌
I love your work style. I wish you would restore more tools like this, since I'm personally not interested in toys... Great job.

Great work as always!
Thanks again!
4:13 best clip ever
Glad to know I'm not the only one thinking if there's a screwdriver operated by hammer blows. Turns out they already existed (at 1:33).
A nice restauration. Alexanderwerk is a machine corporation from Remscheid North rhine westphalia in Germany. Today they produced butchers and meat factorys equipment.
Very clever way to restore the lettering! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks ! I try new things and I'm happy when it works 😃
Loved your work!
Glad you enjoyed it ! Thank you 🙌
Très belle restauration. Très technique... Attention les doigts... Bravo... encore une fois...
Amazing and fenomenal job! I was impressed 🎉
Glad you enjoyed it ! Thank you 🙌
Incredible work!!!
Many thanks !
Me impressiona tamanha habilidade em teu restauro, 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏. Br
Great work! 👍🏾😎
Call me dense but I would have never considered using a laser engraver for rust removal! Well done.
AlexanderWerk began in Germany in 1885 making meatgrinders.
The company still exists today as a manufacturer of compacting and shredding machines for the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries.
No need to repeat why I love your videos, did it before, but adding laser to your tools looks great! Did you ever consider submitting one of your videos to a short-film-festival? Because the quality of them is just top-level!
Thanks again Stefan !😊 No, I never considered showing my videos to a short film festival ! For the moment my videos are only broadcast on social networks🤷♂️

congratulations for the great work. I'm watching from Brazil
Hi Brazil ! Many thanks from France!!!
Excellent!
Absolutely Beautiful! BEAUTIFUL!! Love the Gold Accents. The only thing I think would make your channel a Million + Channel would be a little bit more Text on Screen letting us all know a little more - - And maybe a tiny bit more humor you know, it involves the viewers a little more? Loved it.
Thanks a lot. 👍👍👍I will try to improve these points next time ! See you soon 😉
Very cool. I still have a perfectly working example of the very similar Danish designed version that was produced for generations by the Raavad company in Denmark and I use it daily.
Cool. I hope you are careful using it ? I almost cut my finger with this model😥😥😥 😃😃
@@TheFabrik Ha ha... yes it is a pretty dangerous piece of equipment. I cannot believe that I also used one as a kid. At least my model has a small lever that controls (most of the time😅) the slice thickness so you are not as likely to slide the bread and your finger too far forward.
@@Kim-the-Dane-1952 oh yep I know which one you’re talking about ;)
I enjoy watching your channel! I would like to make a humble suggestion that you create a cool metal sign to replace the paper sign that is sometimes displayed in the background. Maybe you've already thought of this, in which case, I apologize 😁 also I really like the powder-coating...if you could do more of that. Thanks for your great work!
Thank you !! I need a new sign I know that ;) I’ll make one soon probably ;)
Gran trabajo TheFabrik
Muchas gracias 🙏
Absolutely beautiful restoration. Thos bread slicer came out amazing. Great job. I love it. ~Kevin

Wow those close-ups :) great video :)
Thanks a lot !
@@TheFabrik you're welcome :)
Very cool video, well done 👏
Thanks a lot 🙌
Very nice!
Amazing dude!
Hi, another perfect restoration, it was amazing to see the lazer cleaning the corrosion on the blade and after polishing looked like chrome. The refurbishing of all the origional parts makes this even more impressive.and your attention to detail is superb. Cheers, Paul.🔧🪛🖌👍👍👍
Hi Paul ! Thanks again for your encouragement ! 😊😊😊Cheers
So cool!
Guest: "How much effort will you put into this restoration?"
The Fabrik: "Yes!"
😅👍🏻 Thanks
Impecável restauração !
Muito obrigado !
Ok, that was impressive
Very good!
