Soft Vegan Burger Buns- Oil-free, Wheat-free, Gluten-free

- Millet Burger Buns
Yeilds 6 buns
2 and 1/2 cups millet flour
2 tsp baking powder
¾ tsp fine sea salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp ground flax
2 and 1/2 cups water
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1/3 cup whole psyllium husks
2 tbsp date syrup (optional)
Sesame seeds for topping
In a bowl combine the dry ingredients, except for the psyllium husks. In a separate bowl combine the wet ingredients and the psyllium husks. Let rest for 5 minutes until a gel like consistency is achieved.
Combine the wet and dry ingredients. Wet your hands and add 1/6 of the dough to each section of a bun pan.
Bake in a preheated oven at 325 F for 50 minutes. Remove and allow to cool before cutting.
Enjoy!
I made these buns the first time exactly to the recipe. They were so good. Second time I made them using ground chia seed instead of flax seed. Third time I made them I used Sorghum flour instead of millet & used the ground chia seed. Worked perfectly & tastes soooo good!

Yeah was on heathline and it advised not to have Miller flour often😢 but Flax seeds provided more health benefits than Chia Seeds. Given my current condition I have to be conscious on what I consume. So thanks for the alternative.
I used sorghum and millet because I didn't have enough of both. Still got stellar results.
Made the millet flour myself.
I made these with 2 tsp cinnamon, a cup of golden raisins, 1 tsp vanilla, and 3 tbsp date syrup. Baked them in muffin pans. BREAKFAST!

So....I did not have millet flour or millet to grind, but I did have buckwheat flour so I used that, and I did not have whole psyllium husks but I did have whole flax and psyllium powder and somehow I mixed that up following my instincts and I didn't have date syrup so I used honey and somehow these buns turned out amazing!!! Where I live it is very hard to get some ingredients so I have had to learn to work with I can get. Thank you so much for sharing your recipes!!!

I finally made this and it’s so delicious. My kids and husband love it. I used a tablespoon of date powder since I couldn’t find my date syrup. My daughter said they remind her of the biscuits from Cracker Barrel. I also used everything but the bagel seasoning. Yum. Thanks for another great recipe.

I've made these a few times now. This time, I didn't have any millett flour. I subbed buckwheat flour and they came out great. Much darker and denser than the millett ones and oh so good! We had the buns with Javant's Sausage Burgers, topped with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and guacamole. Great meal! More millett flour is on the way but good to know so many other variations work, too.

I made these "buns" today. What I loved was how fast it came together! The recipe was so simple too. I made my own millet flour which did add a bit of time to my process but no biggie because I love diy. I do not have a bun pan so used an 8"×8" instead and cut it into 6 lovely portions. I love your channel and can't wait to review the next recipe!

I very much appreciate your recipe portions. YES it renders 4 buns - perfect! Or whatever shape, I use (thinking square). I’m making that leap lol the lightbulb is beaming bright on the options! I've made this receipe 2x in 1 week using lemon juice no ACV.
I messed up the 2nd time by putting psyllium husk in the dry mix and using less maple syrup.
Both times, they turn out well. I had more rise in the 1st batch.
