I suffer from traction alopecia. I have visited two Trichologists in the past. I have hair loss as a result of braids back in my 20s. I have hair loss in the front of my hairline over my forehead and hair loss on the lower left backside of my head. I recall both hairstyles that pulled that hair out. At the time I did not do anything to nurture the hair back, but it sounds like loss was already bound to happen due to tightness. I have refrained from using braids ever since. Thankfully the spots still have hair around them, but I noticed the spot in the back has finer hair and definitely struggles to grow past a certain length. All of the rest of my hair grows at a normal length, but that spot in the back will grow about a quarter of the length and break off immediately. I have been wearing a TWA for many years. I was thinking about getting micro locs but I’m not sure because I don’t know if that will cause more traction damage. Either way. Thank you so much for this video and thank you for this channel. I told a dermatologist my scalp was scarred and he disagreed. I went to a different dermatologist and to a trichologist and they both agreed that it was scarred and hair wouldn't grow back.
Sometimes you gotta get a second opinion.

A scaly scalp....... Wow that's something I don't have thank god! So I might not have dead hair follicles! Because I noticed with people that I actually bald, I noticed a lot of them do have scaly steps in my that makes my husband included
