Wow, never experienced the luxury of Hot springs while hiking but I must say that looks like an amazing spot. A perfect adventure in the cold with a nice warm pool on the way :) Great video Murphy
Thanks! 😁 I'm not sure about public transportation in that area. But it's about 2.25 miles from the road to the hot springs. If you go in the winter then its an extra mile because they close down a section of the road.
Hey there, where did you guys park if the road was closed a mile before the park? Did you have to park on the side of the road? If yes, do you get a ticket? I’m just trying to prepare as my husband & I are planning a trip there this month. We loved your video!
Also, what is the address of the entrance? I’m getting diamond fork rd, springville, UT. I’m afraid we have directions that won’t lead to the correct spot and then we will be running in circles in rough weather. 😅
Hey! There is a parking lot right before the closed road gate that we parked in. When we were leaving, there were a bunch of cars that had parked on the side of the road after the lot filled up. The cars on the road all had tickets. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you might be okay to park on the side of the road if your car is all the off and doesn't touch or cross the white line. But that might be hard to do depending on how much snow there is. Your best bet might be to get there early before the lot fills up.
So basically you just drive up Diamond Fork Road until you can't go any further. There's a gate that they close so cars can't go past. Then you just hike up the road until you get to the summer trailhead. These directions on Google maps should get you to the summer trailhead. Just drive as far as you can and walk the rest of the way. maps.app.goo.gl/fjUSduyv8zPsUxRo7
@@murphytravelsofficial Thank you so much! This is a huge help to us! This definitely makes me feel a lot better about making our way out there.😊 Your video was the only reliable video we found when visiting the Hot Springs during the winter and we really appreciate that!
Nice video!!! Question about the hike to get there if you don’t mind. How far from the road to the hot springs ? How hard ? How long did I take you to walk there ? Thanks and keep bro 😎
Thanks! It's about 2.2 miles from the trail head to the hot springs. In the winter, part of the road is closed though so it's longer, about 3.5 miles. I think most people consider it a moderate hike. I don't remember the exact time, but we probably took between 1.5 hours and 2 hours to hike there.
The hike was about 7 miles round trip. It's shorter in the summer when you can drive all the way to the trail head. There weren't very many people when we got there first thing in the morning, but after a couple of hours there were a lot of people. It didn't feel too crowded though because there are lots of pools.
Was it a sulfur smell or something else? I don't remember it smelling super bad when we were there, although a slight sulfur smell is pretty common at hot springs in general. I wonder if the smell changes depending on the time of year or other condition?
We went about a month ago (January). I think there are signs that say there is cyanobacteria in the water that could cause swimmers itch or a rash. We didn't notice any skin irritation or anything though. It probably depends on the person and their skin sensitivity levels.

How long did I take you to walk there ?

How far is the hike from the car to the trail head, and from the trail head to the springs?
In the winter when the road closes, it's about 1 mile to the trailhead and then about 2.2 miles to the hot springs.
Great video dude!
How crowded was it? and how long was the total hike?
The hike was about 7 miles round trip. It's shorter in the summer when you can drive all the way to the trail head.

I went there yesterday but the smell was so bad and strong. Is it normal?
Was it a sulfur smell or something else? I don't remember it smelling super bad when we were there, although a slight sulfur smell is pretty common at hot springs in general. I wonder if the smell changes depending on the time of year or other condition?
Hi! When did you go? I'm planning on going there next week, but I heard there have been some toxigenic bacteria in the water.
We went about a month ago (January). I think there are signs that say there is cyanobacteria in the water that could cause swimmers itch or a rash. We didn't notice any skin irritation or anything though. It probably depends on the person and their skin sensitivity levels.
Did you just put your clothes on over your swim suit for the hike back?
No, we used towels to dry off and changed back into our warmer clothes. There was a big rock that we used to change behind. 😀
I thought it was closed and a gate to not let people in?
It was not closed when we went. You might be able to find info online about any potential closures, but I am not aware of any recently.
Don’t believe the hype.
