Hiking the Middle Teton and the South Teton | Climbing in Grand Teton National Park
I've spent a lot of time in and around the Tetons, but until now the only peak in the Teton range that I have successfully summited was The Grand Teton. Now I can add both the South and Middle Teton to my list.
We hiked up to the saddle between the Middle and South Tetons and then scrambled up the Southwest Couloir to the top of the Middle. After descending back down to the saddle we were able to make our way up the northwest side of the South Teton.
This was a big day with a ton of elevation gain. I was glad to have Raymond join me on this awesome trip!
Elevation Gain: 7,051ft

Hiking The Pfeifferhorn via the Red Pine Lake Trail | Wasatch Peak Bagging | Best Hikes in Utah
Переглядів 121Місяць тому
The Pfeifferhorn is an incredible hike that passes Red Pine Lake and several other alpine lakes. I've been wanting to summit Pfeifferhorn ever since I first saw it while on top of Mount Superior this last winter, but it somehow kept getting bumped down on my priority list. I'm very glad that I was able to final bag this peak and get it checked off of my list. The Pfeifferhorn sticks up 400 feet...
Hiking Mount Elbert, Colorado's Highest Peak Via The Black Cloud Trail | US State High Points
Переглядів 130Місяць тому
Mount Elbert was my 5th US state high point! I choose to summit via the Black Cloud Trail because it generally sees less traffic and has amazing views of the mountains to the south. This was my first fourteener and the highest peak that I have hiked to, which was very exciting for me. Since it's monsoon season, I started this hike at 5am to make sure I could be off the summit well before any af...
Hiking the Mount Timpanogos Trail via Aspen Grove | Wasatch Peak Bagging | Best Hikes in Utah

Mount Timpanogos was an awesome hike! There are two main trails up Timpanogos, the "Timpooneke Trail" and the "Mount Timpanogos Trail". I took the latter route, which starts at Aspen Grove. It ended up being one of the best hikes I've done, for seeing waterfalls and wild flowers. I probably passed 5 waterfalls. I also got to see a moose and around 10 mountain goats! Emerald Lake was great stop ...
Hiking Lone Peak via Jacob's Ladder | Wasatch Peak Bagging | Best Hikes in Utah

Lone Peak was an incredible hike that ends at 11,253' elevation. There are a couple of different routes you can take to the summit. I ended up hiking the Jacob's Ladder trail. The views as you approach the cirque are amazing, both of the cliffs in front of you and the valley behind you. You get a good view of both the Great Salt Lake and Utah Lake from the top. You also get great views of other...
Broads Fork Twin Peaks via Robinson Variation | Wasatch Peak Bagging | Best Hikes in Utah

When I started out this hike, I had intended to complete the Triple Traverse which includes summiting Broads Fork Twin Peaks, Sunrise Peak (O'Sullivan Peak), and Dromedary Peak. I ended up tiring out a little quicker than expected, so I cut the day short by just completing Twin Peaks via the Robison Variation. The route I took had a couple of sub-peaks that I topped out on along the ridge to Tw...
Rock Crawling in Moab UT, Part 2 of 2 | Poison Spider Mesa

This off-roading trail in Moab was awesome! Moab, Utah is an iconic off-roading destination that's famous for its challenging terrain, thrilling rock formations, and breathtaking views. I was amazed at the obstacles that we were able to get up and over. The slick-rock sandstone here is super grippy and makes it possible to drive up (and down) extremely steep trails. Snowboarding Suicide Chute in June | Wasatch Backcountry Skiing
Переглядів 1,1 тис.3 місяці тому
This was my first time snowboarding during summer and it was a blast! I had spent a decent amount of time this winter looking at Suicide Chute (a steep couloir off of Mount Superior), but hadn't gotten the chance to actually splitboard it yet. Since the snow everywhere besides the couloir was melted, the short scramble up the South Ridge of Superior ended up being a quick and fun option to get ...
Hiking Storm Mountain via Ferguson Canyon | Wasatch Peak Bagging | Best Hikes in Utah

Storm Mountain is fun peak that can be reached via Ferguson Canyon. The lower section of trail passes by several small beautiful cascading waterfalls. I thought the middle section of the hike was just ok. The scramble to reach the summit, however, was a blast! I even got to see a mountain goat (it moved out of sight before I could get a picture)! ⛰🐐 Elevation Gain: 4,278 ft Round Trip Distance:...

Mount Olympus was an amazing hike! Most of the trail is between south to west facing so it gets a lot of sun which is nice for helping the snow melt during the spring. Awesome! How deep did you go down to see and swim with dolphins?
The dolphins I saw were pretty close to the surface. I swam out probably 100 meters from shore and waited for a while until a small pod of dolphins swam past me. The dolphins don't show up every day, but it is a pretty popular spot.
I went to Hawaii twice last year. Once in February and once in September. Before the first trip, I asked a friend who had spent some time there for the most authentic Polynesian experience and she advised the PCC. She was 100% right! So much to see, learn and do. Very friendly people. I went back in September and will go every chance I get.
I'm glad you got to experience it. It's an amazing place!
Kautzer Circle
Where in idaho is this?
These shots were all around Pebble Ski Resort area a couple winters ago. 🏂
Bartoletti Ramp
Sounds like you've done Superior already, so maybe Nebo if you haven't done that already...
Nebo would be a good one! I've been meaning to get that one checked off. 😀
Another excellent video!
Thanks!
how long did this hike take you? Is it out and about?
The trail is 3-4 miles total, depending on which parking spot you start at. It's an out-and-back trail with a loop in the middle. You can make it shorter if you skip the loop to the 400 year old tree. It probably took us about 2 hours to do the full trail.
Hey thanks for sharing. How much harder/easier is going up the regular saddle way vs Robinson Variation? Also what’s the easier way down? Thanks again
This was my first time hiking Twin Peaks, so I don't know exactly how much harder/easier it is to go the direct route up to the saddle. I did go down that route, so I can say that it is a little shorter with less total elevation gain than the Robinson's variation since you don't go up and down any smaller peaks along the way. However it seemed like the Robinson's variation had a lot less scree/loose rocks to get up than the normal way. The Robinson variation might also have a little more scrambling/exposure, depending on the exact route you take.
I would agree with murphy - they're about equal in difficulty - Robinson has more scrambling/exposure, but it avoids that horrible ascent to the 10,780 saddle between Twins and Sunrise - Robinson also offers that great view of Twins' north face - and best of all you can connect them as a loop from the same trailhead.
Great video! Heading there in November. Just subscribed 😃
Thanks! That's awesome, I hope you have an amazing trip! 😃🤙
Loved your video! Liked and subscribed👍
@@SeekingSnow thank you! I appreciate it 😁
Wow looks beautiful. Almost that season
Yes, almost! I've been getting excited for the changing colors. 😃
Ondricka Pass
have you ever made it to sunrise and dromedary? I heard that there is a trail from sunrise to dromedary that avoids a class 5 scramble. I am trying to figure out which side it is on north or south.
I haven't made it up to either of those, unfortunately. But based on some beta I read, it sounded like from the saddle between twin peaks and sunrise, you can drop down on the south side to avoid some 5th class and then from sunrise you can follow the east ridge and then again drop down south a little bit to avoid more technical terain. So without actually having done that section, I'd guess your trail is on the south side. Hopefully you can get some better info somewhere. If you end up doing it, have fun and be safe! That's a tough/technical route.
@@murphytravelsofficial Thanks for a quick reply! I am going tomorrow!
You're welcome, and good luck!
@@murphytravelsofficial Made it to the saddle, looked for a way up but bailed. Ill have to get some more climbing and scrambling experience and try again next year. A little too steep for me at this time. Still a good hike though. That scree field probably has it's own circle in hell.
Nice, I'm glad you made it down safe! Yeah, that loose scree field is a pain to get through. I'm glad you still had a good hike! 😀
Saw a giant bear track on the grassy trails right above the falls. It was easily 7 inches wide.
Whoah, that would be a little frightening. I know there are bear sightings in that area, but have never had an encounter with one. Glad you were safe!
@@murphytravelsofficial thanks! We saw the track as we were leaving, so we just left faster! I’m guessing that in 10 years or so, grizzlies will be all over swan valley. I’m hearing too many stories.
Yeah, you're probably right. I wouldn't be surprised by more bears in the area in the coming years.
Nice!! 😮😮 The part where you are basically horizontal is crazy cool!
Thanks! 😁
What's the name of the route?? (and grade?)

Hi ! How would you rate these hikes in term of difficulty ? Planning a trip with my family (2 teens, 1 8yo) and wondering if this would be fine for them. The trails looks like they are in good shape and well maintained. Thanks for such a nice video :)
Hi, thanks! I thought the trails were fairly easy and should be pretty doable for most kids. The trails were in good condition when we were there and the steeper sections had stairs. There were also some workers/guides at a few spots to help give directions when we were there.

Thank you for sharing! I’m planning on doing this peak on the weekend. So excited!!
@@rosab6259 You're welcome! Enjoy your hike 😀
Just got back from skyreef, because of your video. That place was incredible, food/snorkling/atmosphere. Everyone so nice there and not crowded. We were on a cruise and are so glad we skipped the crowded excursions. Great for little kids too, especially if they can wear one of those snorkel masks
Nice! I'm glad you were able to enjoy it. Skyreef is a pretty awesome spot! 😃
Cooool i am going this weekend hopefully 🙏 i am scared a little but this video really helped. Thank you!!! Please make video about what you take with you to eat and how much water you take also other useful tips.
Thanks, I'm glad you liked the video! How much food and water to take will vary a lot depending on the person, fitness level, and total amount of planned hiking time. I took 3 liters of water since the route I took didn't really have any filterable water after the first couple of miles.
Im doing this hike this saturday. Thanks for your video. I was so nervous about that summit. But I think got this 💪🏾
You're welcome🙂. Yeah, I thought the ridge scramble was worse than getting up to the actual summit. It's a great hike, I hope you have a fun/safe hike!
Thanks for naming the fish. I saw a lot of these in Maui.
You're welcome! Glad you got to see most of them 😀

are there any bugs and snakes? spiders?
There are lots of bugs and spiders on Maui, though I don't remember running into an unusual amount on this hike or at the falls. Snakes are very rare in Hawaii and aren't something you typically need to worry about.

There was still this amount of snow 2 weeks ago? Or when did you do this hike ?
Hey! This was about 4 weeks ago now. I think the first weekend of August.
WHAT MAKES THESE AMERICAN CROCODILES? THEY ARE IN COSTA RICA.🧐🤔🥴🤪😜
What was your favorite snorkeling spot in Cozumel? Only going to be there for the day on a cruise next month. Trying to decide between Chankannab, Punta Sur or just renting a car and hitting a few different spots like Money Bar, Playa Uvas, SkyReef... I love coral as well as fish. Enjoy your videos. Subscribed.
Hi, thanks! My favorite snorkel spot that I've been to so far is probably Buccanos (SkyReef is a close second). I haven't had the chance to try out Money Bar or some others yet. Chankannab had good fish, but the coral didn't seem as good as SkyReef or Buccanos. But Chankannab also has a lot of other cool activities. Punta Sur has a lot of cool stuff, but at least where I snorkeled, the snorkeling wasn't that good. You'll probably have a great time with any of those options, really. Hopefully this helps a bit. I hope you enjoy your trip!
Wow, these shots are simply amazing my friend! Absolutely amazing!
Thank you! I appreciate it 🙂
