  • It's no secret that Talking Watches is one of our most popular editorial series here at HODINKEE. I was a big fan of it long before I joined the team, obviously. So when Will asked me to host the first Talking Watches to revisit a collector and see how a collection had evolved over time, I jumped at the opportunity. Like Ben, who hosted the first appearance with this guest, I was a fan of the Fugees going all the way back to the heady days of middle school in suburbia. Their second album, The Score, was one of those records that practically everybody was rocking out to to back then, and it's held up remarkably in the two decades since. If you had told seventh-grade Jon that he'd be sitting next to Pras as he pored over an insane collection of Pateks and APs in 20 years, he probably would've puked. But here we are. This is your official Talking Watches 2 With Pras. For the full story, go to www.hodinkee.c...

I'm glad hodinkee sees timepiece collecting isn't about race. a hobby based on a love of these machines. maybe more time should be focused on the watches and less on discussing someone's speech or taste. since this is a very subjective hobby.

Pras came out guns blazing for round two. I personally like seeing vintage and a little of every brand, but this is one of the best Patek collections I’ve seen

I don't understand all the negative comments? It is as if most people are angry that Pras is able to afford these timepieces. If Pras wasn't a watch guy, he wouldn't spend so much money on watches. He could easily buy other things that would flaunt his wealth more. But the guy clearly loves watches and just because he may not be as knowledgeable as other guests, shouldn't mean his passion isn't as great as theirs.

Also classic moment from 8:00 where Pras explains to the Hodinkee viewers why Patek is such a significant brand. It turns out it has nothing to do with their history, their designs or their movement making - it's because thats the brand that women who chase rappers prefer.

Edward Johnstone that was cringe inducing. This guy basically collects Pateks because it gets him pussy. If I’m this guy and on a date with a woman and she’s going on about how she wants a Patek, first thing I ask her is how she plans on going about obtaining one.
