I can't tell you how long I've waited for this, Ronnie has always kept some serious quality watches on his wrist, for years. So much so that its ads to his lore and his specific sensibilities of quality, simply can not be denied. It's taken him entirely too long to sit down to talk about these sensibilities with regard watches. I'm glad we're here now.
I watched this last week and thought what a great interview. Little did I know this was just a stupid ADVERTISEMENT for the Tag watches. You used to be better than this and more authentic.
@AshBashSneakers oh I do but I guess you don't know authenticity. Hodinkee was a place for real watch collectors not people like you and this cheap subliminal advertisement. But the fact that they have resorted to this and that many significant staff leaving just goes to show the health of this business. Just stay in your lane when you can't see the obvious.
@@JakeGittes84 no doubt. I live in NY and wear rain jackets often. But I would never wear one indoors b/c I couldn't get away w/ it. Ppl don't even question when someone like him does strange things clothing-wise.
21:21 the most intense and confrontational moment in the history of Talking Watches. Ben Clymer is saying VC is of the old money aura, which ain’t you Ronnie! 😂 Btw: Ronnie is an awesome and accomplished person; my hats off to him.
The funny thing about the 222 is that there is one sold for 10k less than the MSRP at my local dealer, GBT in Nyon Switzerland. Its not holding the price.
Amazing video, inspiring story by Ronnie, and incredible watches. Great to know that he waits for watches like the rest of us - but he can get the AP CEO on the phone😂😂
I was sort of not rich growing up, but was gifted a watch that 99.9999% of kids would never get. Then I worked and things really went well for me. I made promotions, made more money, got into business,. Voila, I obtained Rolexes, Patek's, and then AP's and VC's within 10 years. I celebrated every success with first great watch buys in NY, then Paris, London, Boise, and Katmandu. It was amazing! But I keep to my roots and traditions by collecting $50 sneakers along with my 150K watches. My friends tell me I'm an inspiring person. Why this emptiness?
A true collector? He’s buying the most popular watches on earth. With unlimited money buying every green dial DD and DJ? Not exactly a very interesting collection.
Could someone tell me when "sick" became a positive, as opposed to a negative. It used to be a defined as being unwell or vomiting. I'll tell you this, I would feel pretty sick paying $350 for a Kith baseball cap.
Really rooting for Hodinkee to pull through the rough patch they got themselves in with the whole Crown & Caliber thing & growing too much too fast. LOVED Hodinkee when it was a skeleton crew 6 years ago. Hopefully Ben can right the ship. I’m even letting the ads play all the way through so YT has to pay up more 😂
Maybe I’m just boring but the sunglasses indoors are really bothering me ngl, mainly because in a lot of the shots at least on my tiny phone screen you can’t see his eyes too well, makes story telling feel less idk genuine
KITH is just like those "hype brands" like Supreme who slap their names on ordinary items you wouldn't buy if not for the hype or whatever stupid marketing they have.
Idk why everyone is mad about an advertisement. I personally wouldnt have known about the Kith x Tag collab if not for you guys lol. This guys collection is very impressive though. Some classic hype pieces, per usual, but the Tag collection is sick. Same with the Vacheron pieces
When it comes to products, there are some exceptional ones that change the experience forever, whatever the path of life, furniture, car, pillow, shoes etc. Back in 2016 I bought asics gel v. Since then, I've owned maybe 8 of them. People keep asking, why do I wear the same runners and my answer is genuine, they're the most comfortable I've ever wore so why to change? As my search for these continued, I came across expensive ones with THIS MANS name attached and I wondered who is he. Thanks hodinkee- now, not only i know who he is, I also share he's passion for product, fine product
I’m with him on the point about integrated straps/bracelets. I think Rolex integrates their bracelets very nicely, good example is the jubilee end links.

"What do you mean a collection like this?" Ronnie had to show him he's still from Queens. Great video :)
😂 he almost had to check Ben right there
Ben meant no ill intent by saying this. Ronnie is just insecure.
😂 - the interviewer was sweating 😅- Ronnie is a Boss
@@Os_-tw4ot hahahahaha so true. You could see Ben thinking Oh damn how do I get out of this one!

So with todays Tag press release we see this vid was all just another Hodinked advert
“Advertorial”
Disgraceful advertising... what has this thing become.... shame
Yup that was a nice ad for the new Kith-TAG collab, it almost looked like it wasn't... almost
that’s an incredible episode. hodinkee, this is what makes you awesome.

so this was just a commercial then...
As a Vitality member and long time reader of Hodinkee, this video made me very happy.

The real question is did LVMH pay for this talking watches or did you do it for free since they are part owner?
The Vacheron story is so fucking cool.
Love it
