Here we are ! A third gen lude with a k20 swap, this is so cool and rare ! Too much civics, not enough Preludes, especially the third gen, my favorite. Awesome build !
@Kobi Hemmerle not as cool as the lude but I've got a 91 accord sedan tidy power windows sunroof etc i plan on a bone stock k20a swap at some point been sitting on it for a while haha gotta finish my k swapped eg6 1st
super cool video my man. appreciate you sharing inside videos from your shop. i try to do the same, and its a real hustle. That car, has got to be a riot to drive. nothing wild, but quick AF, and looking retro clean. Well done fellers!
Sounds so good! Funny I have a 2002 Ep3 and just bought a second 3rd gen prelude after missing my 88 for 13 years! The 90 has a B21 with headers and man it sounds so good and pulls better than the B20. It's an auto but surprisingly it shifts so fast and solid! No issues other than a 2nd gear surge as the previous owners (I'm the third owner) used only Honda fluids. Sad thing is the second owner who owned the car for only 2 years managed to crash the rear quarter panel and front fender, screw up the wiring and ground points EVERYWHERE, break and or lose many interior parts, let rust proliferate, etc. By the time I got it it pulled so hard to one side that brand new tires went bald in a month, leaked everywhere, steering wheel/ motor vibrated like someone getting shocked, trunk leaked due to botched fix on body panels, damaged window trim and weather stripping, etc... but hey the last owner did add a 800$ double Din kenwood, yellow top battery (a month prior to selling it),600$ headers, detachable steering wheel, CAI, 4WS, new master cylinder, new steering rack, new tires minus the ones went bald, new radiator(that is now rusted and leaking due to bad over flow tank and botched install of hoses on the transmission cooler), extra manual tranny with poly motor mount and gauges, many interior pieces, a 2nd 4WS unit with tie rods, strut tower braces, 3000 watt amp and sub and many other extra parts that could have netted him almost 10k not including the price of car... I've already sold enough extra parts to pay for the car so basically I got a free prelude. But I dunno why he spent thousands on performance parts but yet didn't really fix anything that needed to be fixed. I mean what's the point of headers if the motor needs new head gasket and over heats and the installer stripped the down tube bolts and the muffler/ CAT/ pipes are all rusted and full of holes? What's the point of tower stabilizers if your car pulls hard enough to U turn by just letting go of the wheel? A 2000$ system if the grounds are not grounded? Etc.... lol Anyways I spent under 500 and the car doesn't pull anymore, doesn't leak oil or anything, temporarily fixed exhaust with JB Weld for exhaust systems, fixed all stripped bolts as well, fixed most leaking areas, destroyed the rust and temp painted the areas(which took weeks and im still funding little areas unseen that have minor rust), fixed all steering problems and now im currently going through the interior and testing/ repairing wiring system and grounds. When that's finished I've got new parts and an 2 inch exhaust system, new shocks and lowering springs, tranny and motor rebuild kits with complete seal and bushings, motor mounts, adjustable cam gears, poly bushings, etc... THIS CAR IS A KEEPER AND I WON'T MAKE SAME MISTAKE OF SELLING MY LUDE EVER AGAIN LOL
So amazing! It's people like this who make swapping engines into different chassis possible! My favorite generation is the 4th Gen (92-96). I would love to add a 3rd Gen to my collection though!
Oh man, It's about time someone figured out how to put a k-series in a 3rd Gen which means that it's only a matter of time before someone slaps a turbo on one of those.... Yeah ! Cheers !
Ive known for awhile the swap was possible and its funny how close the engine mount brackets are from others ive seen . now my question is .. How do we awd our chassis and other 3rd gen hondas like the much similar accord coupe and hatchback
I made 235 whp with the plm horn style headers and my full bolt on k20a. Now I think I should get that skunk 2 alpha header and probably hit or get close to 250!
So pumped on finding your channel Nick! (props Larry Chen). I have a K-build in mind that I'm sure you've probably never been asked about. Where are you located? Cheers
Sweet ride! Those Skunk2 Alpha headers are the 4 to 2 to 1 but dont cross over? Like cyl 1 merges with 2 and 3 with 4 then together? Always thought that design was not optimal, however also have them on my k swapped EG and they do well.
Would really like to get ahold of this guy. I have a 90 4WS prelude it’s my first high school car and have had for 18 years and I’ve been wanting to do this swap for years.
Good morning thank you so much for sharing this video , I have a request for you guys I hope is not too much to ask , I bought my daughter a third gen Accord hatch back that has the same frame layout as this beautiful car .. you think you can share a list of things so we can do the same to her car she's graduating next year from Lincoln tech any help on this will be greatly appreciated thanks again for sharing this video and God bless you all
Hey Nick I noticed youre located in Ontario Canada. I own an automatic tsx would you know anyone in the GTA who could do a Manual swap for it? I've looked into trades or selling it for a manual tsx but cost of cars in ON is ridiculous
Rad project, and great car, however i think this is the first car that ive seen with nt-03 that didnt work. doesnt look right imo... but otherwise great car

Always loved that generation of Preludes, must be wild to have that kind of powerplant in there.
Yeah I had a 88 I love the hell out of it there was a guy where I live who put an h in one he said it was an easier swap than a B series
Yes! Makes me want one bad. But he def dropped some $$$ on that thing
i have a 5th gen which is my fav. but my h22 sucks. i wish i could k swap. only one youtuber doing it really
That K-series Vtec crossover is amazing 😁😁
this is the FIRST k swap 3rd gen prelude i’ve seen ever !
Nick is so great with the tunning. Nick is helping me with my tune on my turbo k24 91 prelude and Len helped me with the mounts he used! Great video
I would love to see your k24 91, I’ve got an 89 and plan on doing something similar when the engine goes
@Kobi Hemmerle not as cool as the lude but I've got a 91 accord sedan tidy power windows sunroof etc i plan on a bone stock k20a swap at some point been sitting on it for a while haha gotta finish my k swapped eg6 1st
@@kobihemmerle1140ever get around to the k swap? Considering it myself
@@thedankestcrustacean9838 not yet, there’s just not enough room, considering a smaller b series
@benjamieson5626Hey thinking on a k swap on my 1987 accord dx hatchback how can I get Lens info?
This exact spect was my first car, it was one of the most fun cars i had back in the 90’s

So amazing! It's people like this who make swapping engines into different chassis possible!
My favorite generation is the 4th Gen (92-96). I would love to add a 3rd Gen to my collection though!
That hood the the cleanest k swap idea I've ever seen
Awesome!

I made 235 whp with the plm horn style headers and my full bolt on k20a. Now I think I should get that skunk 2 alpha header and probably hit or get close to 250!
Doubtful
That was probably a happy dyno
So pumped on finding your channel Nick! (props Larry Chen). I have a K-build in mind that I'm sure you've probably never been asked about. Where are you located? Cheers

I just bought a 90 4ws 5 speed and I'm thinking about get wheels and exhaust soon.. But how much would a swap like this cost?
More than you can afford pal
Awesome gains from just a header !
what would be a good header for a k24/20 swap with cams ?
Go to richard holdener k24 series. Your ansver is there
How did he do the wiring harness? Was there an adapter to the dash
Sweet ride! Those Skunk2 Alpha headers are the 4 to 2 to 1 but dont cross over? Like cyl 1 merges with 2 and 3 with 4 then together? Always thought that design was not optimal, however also have them on my k swapped EG and they do well.
That’s cool

New different header make alot of differences
Thanks for keeping the popup light generation alive! I wish i still had my old Nissan Pulsar GT from that era, 1986.
Where to get the custom engine mounts??
minute 3:22 he says the tires are 217/45/17, I bet he meant to say 215
Yes. My bad
I'm doing this swap just picked up an 07 civic SI cor the donor. Is there anyway you can tell me what car you got the hood from to cover the engine?
Wow!!!!!! Fu**in amazing!!!!! Need dudes channel or info would love the write up since I’m doing the same swap into a 88 accord hatchback
Hi nick, where the map works better? Installed in the itm or the tb?
👍🏾👍🏾
how much ground clearance does a k20 swap prelude have between the floor and oilpan?
Does it have 4 wheel steering that would be 🔥🔥🔥
👍
Did he go the k24/k20 match to save some room?
Do you know how much I need spend for swap exactly like that?? I have a 1991 lude 4WS
Nick, nice result! I see the PC is set up to be multi-lingual... Québécois? ;)
Any updates on this car?
Hope that has upgraded ABS
Did you get it to clear the hood?
Nice hood prop 😬
Hey Nick I noticed youre located in Ontario Canada. I own an automatic tsx would you know anyone in the GTA who could do a Manual swap for it? I've looked into trades or selling it for a manual tsx but cost of cars in ON is ridiculous
It would be cool to put that engine in a R53 or R56 Mini Cooper S.
Or scrap the car that would be cool too
Who did the swap on this ?
Aam i hurting my k20z3 by running fbo without a tune??.I dont push her hard at all
Are you on prelude power?
original subframe?
What harness was used .?
