I am scottish and first saw hevia on a tv.in tenerefe ,I was totally captivated, bought the cd and loved every track. We are all Celts who cares if our heritage came from Spain.
I agree, mate. :) Just one thing. It's the opposite. The new researching a proves that from Spain and Portugal the Celtic people was expanded to Ireland, Scotland and the central of Europe. Proves? In Spain is the oldest archeologic's excavations and stones, símbolos and ruins (more than 6000 years old), the bigpipes (gaitas) from Spain are the oldest proved in the world, Romans fought against Celtic only in Spain (and Portugal, they said in their documents), in France against gaulics, etc., Celtics went to Ireland,Scotland and England from the sea, and the shared the culture. Regards They are just some examples. :) Regards I love these countries
Brilliant - love it! And as an ancestral Scot, I am not upset at all, on the contrary we are celebrating our joint Celtic heritage with the Iberian peninsular - especially Asturias, Galicia and Portugal.
+John Innes ,Unity will only make us stronger. Are there facts that prove there are Celts roots in Galicia, Asturias and Portugal? If the answer is yes we need to be one. Divide and you will conquer, unite, and you will make your enemies fear you.
La música celta existe en toda España, con instrumentos parecidos. En Aragón es la gaita de boto adornada, en Extremadura, en Andalucía, etc en todas, pero está más actualizada en Asturias y Galicia por Hevia y otros solistas y bandas.
I just love celtic music.... This song brings me back 500 years before.. With swords and shields and knights to carry them... Fantastico........ Hail...Scotland the Brave.......
Yeah, me too, but it's not medieval, mate. This music is tipical from the prerromans cultures in the European countries of the Atlantic, so Spain, Portugal, France, England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales.
Celtic heritage is from Spain an Portugal (Iberia). More than 4500 years of history. They carry the gaita (bagpipes) to Scotland and Ireland. Romans only fought against Celtics in Iberia, they said. Oldest gaitas and oldest ruins and towns are in Spain, for example, in Extremadura in the 20's century the people still lived in this circles houses. You have pics in the archives in the Civil War. The history of Spain never was studied well. The heritage is that, not Rome or Greece in Spin, Portugal, France and Great Britain. Regards
Beautiful celtic music. As a basque a love céltico music. our music is also amazing our culture is also céltico ancestral. Most of the Britons went from the gulf of Biskay in the basque country.
+AMAROK RODRIGUEZ De reducto nada, España tiene mas genetica celta que Gran Bretaña y eso que que sufrimos muchisimas invasiones, ademas las universidad de Oxford ha demostrado que los celtas provienen de España :D
Bravo ! Hälsning från grannen Sverige ! / Great ! greetings from yer neighbor Sweden .

the mix of the music and the photos are just amazing!! I really like Scotland and I hope to go there some day...!!!!!! please made more videos like this one, I enjoy this kind of videos while Im reading or doing something for Uni. Besides, these views are similar to peruvian views, the mountains and nature are really beautiful. Greetings for Peru to all Scots

It's striking how similar the landscape is between the Picos de Europa of Asturias, Spain and the Scottish Highlands (I'm assuming this is mostly in the Highlands). Also a striking resemblance of the folk dances of Asturias with the Highland fling (Asturian folk dance looks like a cross between a Highland fling & a flamenco :-)
@glenzboyz HONOR A QUIEN HONOR MERECE, LO CIERTO ES QUE TAN BELLAS IMAGENES AUNADAS A UNA MUSICA TAN MAGICA SON UNA INVITACION A VIAJAR CON LA IMAGINACION, ERES UN GRAN PROMOTOR DE TU PAIS. SALUDITOS DESDE MEXICO, UNA AMIGA.
The Scottish Highlands & the Picos de Europa of Spain look very similar. Lots of Celts settled in the Picos (as well as the rest of Asturias & Galicia) which is why they still play bagpipes there. The traditional dances of this region are not resemblant of flamenco but look more like a Highland Fling with castanets.
this artist is great. Does anyone know if he is influenced by scottish music or if that really is what the asturias sound like? Its amazing how scottish it sounds
For my scottish cousins, studies done in Oxford university proves that celtic culture was born in the north of Spain and it expanded to Britain, what means that celtics are from Spain, so stop saying that my culture is yours when you just faked it.
Fire Ebony En todo caso si fuera verdad lo que dice, los celtas no vienen de Escocia llegaron a Escocia igual que llegaron a España desde centroeuropea la zona del sur de Alemania, Austria y Suiza más o menos!
I believe over a decade of genetic research as well reexamining the ancient Roman historians work have disproved that theory. For you ,it back to school. Good luck!
I will state it plainly; you are dead wrong. The genetic of Celts and related peoples(Iberians, Thracian, Illyrians etc) My dear child their genetics is predominantly R1b and R1a. Second, the Celtic culture is a fusion of Phrygian and Scythian cultures. So their origins are from Eastern and the Atlantic coast of Europe. The only fact you got right my dear is that the Celts, Iberians, and Baltic tribe settled Southern Germany. Kindly desist and enjoy your day!
Dear belly dancerin anna, actually genetic counts for much, and your feeble beliefs for little. You see genetics fills in the gap that written can not. And so you are the one that is wrong and I am the one that is 100% correct. Without the fusion of Iberian, some Phrygian, and Scythian culture;in the absence of, the Celtic culture would be a non argument. More importantly there would be no discussion of subject what so ever. So in the end it matters not to me that Celtic culture spread to Rhine, the Danube, and the Seine. Without this fusion there would be no Hallstatt culture: which later gave birth to the La Tene culture. That is the period of extension too the areas previously mention. If you were not so confuse you would have put two and two together and come up with four. I Believe your vessel has been sunk. Better luck next time. And yes genetic trumps your BS.
Sounds like your grasping at straws my dear. The Celts, Iberians, and related people have R1b, R1a, R1c(formerly known as I1a). And these genes markers are 100% European. Now my dear, why do not have cup of strong tea, and leave the deep thinking to the men. Good day!
@glenzboyz Thank you for letting me insert my short video with images and music of Asturias. I think all celts should know each other better, in my opinion participating in Interceltic music festivals and that sort of thing it's just not enough, it would be good if we had a football tournament...something like "The Celtic Nations Cup" or something like that...thank you again.... all the best for you too and your wonderful country
I am scottish and first saw hevia on a tv.in tenerefe ,I was totally captivated, bought the cd and loved every track. We are all Celts who cares if our heritage came from Spain.
Celtic was a indoeuropean culture, expanded from central europe to great britain, ireland , France and Spain, this is its beautiful inheritance.

Because Spain is Asturias. Asturias is the cradle of Spain.
There are Celtic tombs sculptures and ruins in northern Spain that are least six thousand years old. And that's a historical fact
John Not only in the north, there are in the central zone and east, search a map where the celts lived! In Spain we are descendents of celriberians!
