Wonderful music, beautiful country. I am an American, but Scotsman on my mom's side. I always have a special place in my heart for Scotland, its people and it's music, especially bagpipes and tenor drums.
i,am a german....but....deep in my heart and in my soul i,am a scotsmen !!! why...???? i don,t now. Alba gu brath....!!!! best wishes from the westcoast from germany. Mike
i spent many happy years in this lovely land wi the gallant forty twa, sadly ill health prevents my return and this video and music are bringing tears to my eyes
I first heard this song sunged by a group called The Strawbs,in 1973, it was the B-side to a song called Part Of The Union, brilliant song this is. I still love this song to bits.
This is a fully orchestrated version with a nice pop feel and a guitar solo in the middle. No vocals, makes this a great one to sing together with the family and friends. Great photos, good transitions and well edited. A winner for sure.
Beautiful landscapes and quaint villages. Though I would like the best of both worlds. Remoteness but still have access to technology. Is that even possible?
@EmmetPro7421 from the sound of it I'd say it was a Irish Concert flute also know as the Scottish Flute in Scotland. They have that wonderful airy, rich woody sound. Most Celtic bands like the Chieftains play them and you'll find a number of UA-cam videos highlighting them in Irish competitions like Comhaltas Live. It's a very distinct sound found in Scottish and Irish music.
@kkkkkkatherine Glad you liked Scotland, was the 'kkkkkk' in your name down to you shivering in our summer weather? ;-) Haste ye back lovely kkkkkatherine!
Rooficita .....my family is other way around , my gran was scottish Noble and my grandfather was Irish from county Cork believe it or not Tapfield (dont sound Irish I know}
The first part sounded awesome...but then the next part when the guitars came in was a bit strange they should of kept going with bagpipes or something
is there such a think as country and scottish music? i mean, a nashville arrangements of scottish music which should appeal to lower classes types.it makes money for the singers, i will bet.

This song was composed by Francie McPeake of the famous McPeake Family from Belfast.
+Michael Crowe Based on a song he heard whilst travelling in Scotland!
You're right...It's a Scottish Folk Song...
Called “Wild Mountain Thyme”, not “Will Ye Go Lassie Go”.
Rooficita .....my family is other way around , my gran was scottish Noble and my grandfather was Irish from county Cork believe it or not Tapfield (dont sound Irish I know}
