Anything arranged by Liszt is scary in many ways...
Even the “easy” Schubert song transcriptions have their devilish ossia sections
This is actually not too difficult (at least technically)
True
Specially when you try to play it
FR
The last chord is so chilling. It shows that a chords different colors show when theyre put in a different context musically. Something about the D major gives this sense of suspense that is just left hanging, like the piece will never will be truly resolved. LOVE this performance.
It wasn't until looking at this arrangement that I noticed the same thing! Normally a picardy third is seen as a "bright" or "hopeful" resolution, but in this song it just gives off the feeling that all light has finally fallen.
Mozart requiem is one of those timeless pieces that will never get old. It is so touching and the context of the writing renders it even more powerful. Thanks for putting your interpretation on UA-cam for us to enjoy 👏
Peace to his soul
I honestly much prefer Liszt's transcription to Thalberg's. From the very beginning it fits the atmosphere of Lacrimosa perfectly, even though Thalberg's version is much more authentic. Great work as always, it sounds wonderful under your hands.
This particular piece is one of the rare occasions that I prefer the version by Thalberg rather than Liszt. As far as piano transcription, Liszt's arrangements are usually my favourites.
You are definitely the best synthesia pianist on youtube! I would love to see you play Beethoven’s Hammerklavier sonata since no one like this channel has recorded it to youtube
I think he made a short video on the Hammerklavier on his second channel a while back
@@Zephyrus47 yeah I think he played it with literal hammers though haha
Hammerklavier is hard, but I think he can do it! :D
I agree with you. A full recording of Hammerklavier by Traum would set standards!
However, he must use Igor Levit's performance as a reference. It's one of the finest recordings out there that almost matches Beethoven's tempo indication.
Kassia is better nil
The black sleeves remind me of Liszt.
Hey, Traum! Everyone says that he(she) admires your interpretation: your musicality, skill and feeling of the instrument, - but nobody says how he(she) loves You. So I just want to say: "I love you, Traum, my friend, certainly YOU!" Please, be our best way to stay ourselves and to become better and better by listening to your music always. Thanks for everything!
Yes ! I loved this piece really much ! I'm glad you used this note falling again. This + the magnificent sound that you made with the cfx vst is amazing !
This truly is a creepy piece. With the history or Mozart dying and finishing it with a different person. But I can just hear the sorrow in the music through your playing. You truly are a master at emotion to bring out the pain Mozart was trying to put in this piece, through his Saddened death.
An unfinished masterpiece. I wish he had lived longer...
Thanks to his students tho
The best thing Sussmayr ever wrote. But the Lacrymosa is pure Mozart.
@@gspaulsson I don't like Sussmayr's completion very much - it starts to fall apart after the Hostias.
if it wasnt for his soon death, this piece may have never been rewritten however
Traum is so underrated! You deserve millions of subscribers. Greatest Piano UA-camr for sure!!
The bars for the black notes were a bit too wide for my tastes, but your playing is flawless as always! Thank you for the awesome video traum!
Nice background! I love the dark feeling in this work. Great job bringing out the melody too! Do you prefer Liszt over Thalberg's arrangement?
Isn't the melody wrong in Liszt's arrangement? I don't know. It just seems wrong to me .
@@black-dj9mr Why?
@@black-dj9mr why?
The melody is quite different actually
It's proved that if you mix the best composer and the best performer, the result is awesome.
Finally, someone play an arrangement by Liszt
I love the mix between falling notes and visualization in the background
One of my favourite pieces! Thanks for the amazing performance as usual!
that last chord.....oh man!
A piece that reflects the mood of the world at this moment in time . Not only is your dexterity flawless , your additional talents keep us visually entertained !
I find it intriguing that this is one of the few truly mournful Mozart works, all earlier ones are relatively cheerful and energetic, but this one is more of a salutation to life, which does make sense. Also it's worth noting that Mozart died when he was about at the 30th bar of this piece and one of his students composed the rest.
He also wrote the Requiem suite believe it would be for his own death. Mozart barely wrote minor keys and when he did, it was usually because he was going through some horrible stuff. For context, he wrote his famous A minor piano sonata when his mother passed away.
@@pretzelkch8322 what happened to Mozart when he wrote the c minor sonata then?

Mozart & Sussmayr's original arrangement: Somewhat unsettling
Liszt's arrangement: FEAR INDUCING

This is absolutely stunning traum!, The video and the music is so good
Beautiful lacrimosa and background
Something odd about this piece is that my mother played a recording of it to me every night so I could fall asleep until I was about 5. I honestly don’t know how I was able to fall asleep from it.
The best as always
Great as always. Please perform Sarabande from Handel.
Great Work Traum!!! My favourite UA-cam pianist!

Hello, Traum. Hope you're doing well. I did enjoy this piece, it does give chills. I'd really like to listen to your interpretation of Adagio in D minor by Johann Sebastian Bach.
I'm going to practice this piece
Penguin goes Noot Noot and then stares
its like taking its life
Epic!
It's actually one of my favorite pieces lol
Very soothing (in some ways)
very nice.
It is a magnificent piece not creepy
Lacrimosa is The most conceptual definition of death.🖤🖤🎹🎹
Traum please can you post Stravinsky Petrushka (3 movement) please :( give me heart traum
All musicians: Mozart pieces are just very easy, doubt that he is having small hands . While the last piece Mozart has composed: *Laughs in the 4th dimension*
I’m so glad Traum is back at it again!!! I was really sad when he said he would only post once a month.
Amazing playing as always traum! I would love to see your interpretation of debussy's ballade
The wide bars makes it really confusing to differentiate the whites from the blacks! Apart from that, beautifully played!
very goood playing!! can you play maple leaf rag by scott joplin
Truly haunting.
I personally think Thalberg done the best arrangement of this for piano. But that’s just me, liszt’s is also Fantastic, of course!
The visuals are backkkk 🥰
This is one my favourite pieces!
actually creepy and unsettling... if beethoven 5 is like fate knocking on your door, this piece is like death wandering in your backyard
Hello Traum. What exercises did you use to build technique when you started out as a pianist?
🔥🔥🔥
I think the thalberg arr. is the better version, although this one isn’t bad. First time I wouldn’t pick Liszt over thalberg.
Beautiful.......
Beautifully creepy!
Personally I think it's both Beautiful and Creepy depending on who plays it, you definitely show the more Creepy arrangement of this piece!
