    4. Wait specified time
    5. Neutralize peel.
    6. Apply healing products.

    Hello, I absolutely love your Channel. I've been binge-watching for almost 2 weeks, and rewatching, trying to build that confidence up😊. This will be my first chemical peel ever, what would you suggest to start with. I'm targeting crow's feet, wrinkles on the forehead Marriot lines, wrinkles around my mouth. I use vitamin C moisturizer, hyaluronic acid serum, and a Retinol Serum on a daily and nightly basis. Being using all the above product about 6 weeks. I did noticed in the first 2-3 weeks of using the above my face felt really rough, a bit of flaking. I'm more of a dryer skin type, now I feel like it's getting more moisture,and softer feeling. Thank you so much for all the time you put into making the videos. Any help is very honored and I appreciate it.

      Amanda Lierly a great Peel to start off with that won’t cause a lot of irritation is the Mandelic 40%. This one helps everything and is good for all skin types. You could do this 1x per week or 1x every other week. Basically whatever works with your schedule.
      Remember it will take about 3 days before your skin feels dry and any flaking starts - so use that knowledge to your advantage and do your peel 3 days before you have some time off.

    Hi Jennifer,
    Thanks so much for your lovely and informative videos!
    When applying the prep solution/Step 1, I’m confused about the application method.
    Are you supposed to gently “paint” the solution on?
    Or is it a more aggressive application? For example: as if you’re rubbing with pressure, trying to get excess traces of oil/dirt/makeup off the skin with a cotton ball soaked in toner, after cleansing.

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  Рік тому

      Hello. You will have washed your face prior.. so hopefully your skin is quite clean at this point already. Wipe over your skin with a bit of pressure... but no RUBBING... We are not trying to irritate the skin right before a peel is applied. :)

    I see no videos on multiple layers of the 13 percent t a peel ! I just purchased the product from jessners . I have done peels in the past 14 years ago however I don’t remember leaving them on for hours at a time . I plan on doing a minimum of 3 layers maybe even up to 5 . Do u still keep it on 5 mins in between apps without rinsing ? Then hours after the 5th layer ??? I’m a tad confused . Also can you tell me what all I could use to pre prep my skin before the peel and how long . I don’t have finances to purchase yalls products so any substitutions would be great ! Thank you & looking very forward to this peel

      Here is our video on applying a TCA peel. Multiple layers and all. ua-cam.com/video/nS2d_1M3Mag/v-deo.html Always wait 5 minutes inbetween layers. You want to give your skin time to react and SEE if it is frosting or not before applying another layers. No rinsing in between. Retinol is a great prep before a peel. An Acid serum is another great option.

    What is the purpose of prepping the skin using the post peel neutralizer before using the peel?

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  5 років тому

      Hello. The Prep solution is to help strip the skin of all its oils and any products that did not come off after washing. *You may also use 90% rubbing alcohol if you wish.
      The Neutralizer has a high pH level and will help to quickly neutralize your hydroxy acid peel. You may also use plain water. See this video on neutralizing acids: ua-cam.com/video/j3yhHkEmO0w/v-deo.html

      @PlatinumSkinCare  9 місяців тому

      Mandelic peels can be done 1x per week or 1x every other week. Daily acids are fine in things like a Cleanser. Please don't do any leave-on acids or retinoids though after the peel.

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  Рік тому +2

      Mandelic is a very mild acid. Start with 5 minutes ... then 10, ... 15... 20 .... you can extend as you see fit. 60 minutes is generally a maximum as it will be neutralized at that point anyways by your skin's natural pH levels. *Remember though. Mandelic is never going to be a deep peel. ... or cause a lot of flaking. This is a weekly or e/o week peel with no "social downtime" at all. Maybe some dryness and a few flakes.

      Hello. See this video to learn about the acids and what they are each good for and how much flaking to expect: www.platinumskincare.com/which-acid-should-i-choose/ I suggest Fade Bright 1-2x per day to help lighten the pigmentation and also to prep your skin for a peel. Retinol .20 at night will also help to get that skin turning over. Don't forget your SPF every day. 30 minimum and 50 if you really want to block the sun.
      Good starter peels: Mandelic 40 and Lactic 50 *both beneficial for hyperpigmentation.

After 5 days my skin is getting flaky but not major peel which is ok but my skin look kinda darker idk if cause the peel is not done yet or it will make my skin darker now? • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  5 років тому +1

      A lot of times the dead skin sitting on your face getting ready to peel WILL look darker - it is dead. After that peels your tone will look normal again. Remember to wait 5 minutes inbetween layers - and make sure your skin is wet, without being drippy/overwet and you will be good. Next time, if you want more flaking, add on a 3rd layer. You can work up to 5 layers.

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  8 місяців тому

      The Salicylic 15 "could" cause a frost - but generally with salicylic it is just the dried acid that turns white. **IF it washes right off - it was just dried acid. If that white STAYS after rinsing. ... it was a frost.
      Nice COLD water and keep splashing and splashing. Salicylic is very hard to neutralize. We are actually diluting it.
      3% would probably cause excess dryness if you used it many times per week. I suggest that as a treatment. Every 2-4 days or so. :)

      Hello. I am not sure why you would want to layer all of those. Hydroxy acids don't get layered. The TCA will be the most beneficial. I would just alternate your TCA peels with either a Lactic peel or a Glycolic peel instead.

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  2 роки тому +1

      You never want to use a physical exfoliation method prior to a peel. Post peel, I recommend waiting until the skin is almost done flaking and/or peeling. The exfoliating scrub or mask will help to loosen any dead skin cells that may be still holding on.

      So far I've done a 40% lactic and 23% Glycolic. My skin is responding well. How many layers should I apply with such a low percentage? How much peeling will I get with this %. Will I be able to go to work not looking like a lizard shedding it's skin if I do it on a Friday?

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  6 років тому

      Kaze Chan you have tried a mixed peel with those two acids? Or each individual? And what percentage? Were they ours? Lactic normally does not cause any VISIBLE flaking at all. It is more microscopic and hydrating. Glycolic “usually” will cause some visible flaking, but it depends on the percentage and your skin. It may have just been too mild for you. If the hydroxy acids don’t cause flaking then you need to take a look at something like Tca 13% where you can add layers to make it stronger. You will see flaking with that.

    • @carz4less

      Kaze Chan yeh Ive never experienced peeling or flaking or even dry skin with lactic acid

    • @PlatinumSkinCare
      @PlatinumSkinCare  6 років тому

      Corrrect, not with Lactic acid. It is hygro-scopic. Meaning it pulls water INto your skin. It is actually excellent for those with dry skin. You won't see any visible flaking on your face. Just a smoothness. If you want flaking you need to move into a stronger acid.

      You will find that peels are not done on a daily basis. Maybe 1x per week or 1x every 2 weeks. Some stronger ones are 1x a month or 2 months. It depends on the acid, the percentage ... and sometimes the layers applied. All directions and usage instructions will be in your manual.

      @@TM-un1nn Hmmmm. that can definitely end up being a stronger peel if you have sensitive skin... or if you use a lot of retinoids/acids daily and your skin is already thin. I am not going to say that blisters are EVER normal though. You weren't exercising... were you? Because that is the only time that is normal when sweat gets trapped under the skin. We frown upon that before the skin is actively flaking though. I suggest that you use some calming products and cool compress to get that feeling better.
