- Happy Halloween everyone! This year’s spooky scary video is on the Grim Reapers and its various depictions across all forms of media. We go over some of the coolest Grim Reapers (or Shinigami) in fiction, ranging from the standard skeleton with cloak to more quirky designs that deviate from the norm. Judgment Meter joins me for this spooky video.

I have no idea how anyone misses Death from Discworld. Just google Death, he's on practically every article about Death as a character.

I am so glad you mentioned the undertaker at least as an honorable mention, though if this was my list he would’ve been the number 10 spot at least. I was literally getting ready to send you a three paragraph essay as to why he should’ve been on the list lol
lol I'm not surprised he was a notable omission, but at least he got a shoutout! We could definitely have fun with some WWE entries, even though I was more of a passive watcher, so I'd miss out on some key parts of his lore.

You forgot the only game when we play as Death himself. Darksiders II. Plotwise there's also a twist instead of taking human lives in the game his task is to restore humanity and redeem his brother, War who was framed of triggering the Apocalypse prematurely thus destroying the human race, during the game he also displays a wide array of abilities, such as necromancy, summoning murders of crows to aid him, charging fort with his scythe, Harvester and steal the enemies' life force whether they are demons, angels, or undead, also he can change his scythe in wide array of forms, from two smaller versions to one big or it can become a completely different weapon, claws, maces, glaives, or spears. lastly, he can shapeshift into his Reaper form revealing his true nature
Great stuff! I love the reference to Death Takes A Holiday! I believe that was what "Death is a Bitch" referenced.

As for death in castlevania Dracula basically concocted a deal that would make him the master of life and death. Essentially death works with vlad because of the benefits since the more chaos he causes the more souls he can collect

I didn't want to hint at the number 1 entry, so I didn't mention him and I thought the game was so obscure that I didn't need to mention it, but I should have said "non-licensed" fighting games to make that entry more legitimate. My bad!

When I first saw this, I thought for sure Grim was going to be Number 1. Found he is 2... Thought for a second and went, why didn't I even think of him first!?
Since I uploaded this on Halloween, which fell on a weekday in 2019, maybe it wasn't suggested to as many people since I didn't upload it on Saturday when I normally do. Either way, glad you enjoyed it!

The Grim Reaper is a recurrent character in the Castlevania series. And in the fighting game, Castlevania Judgemente, Death is a playable character.
Maybe he never played Judgment.
@@unclepaul1995 that seems pretty obvious. The point is he said no fighting game has featured the Grim Reaper.
I've spoken about Judgment in a few videos (including top ten vampires in fighting games) and initially included him as part of that, but because I like to keep my Number 1s as secret as possible until right before the reveal, I left him off since there would have been an elephant in the room in why I wasn't talking about the game series itself since I didn't want to spoil death as Number 1. Probably should have mentioned it in the number 1 segment, but I didn't think people would remember Judgment tbh

Wow, the main character from the show literally called "Reaper" didn't even get an honorable mention from our Host or Judgement Meter. He even has to recapture souls or demons & send them back to Hell. He might not call himself the Grim Reaper, although I would think that the nature of his job would have at least gotten him an honorable mention

We've had mummies and werewolves as two mainstream monsters we still have to cover, so it's possible! Frankstein monster-like creatures are also a good idea!

I thought about him, but I decided to cut off the honorable mentions where I did, so he was a good omission. I did discuss him in my Skeletons list, so he has gotten a high ranking on one of our Halloween lists!

I forgot about him! I love GX and he is probably just as interesting than the ole Reaper of the Cards in terms of concept. Maybe I'll find a way to talk about him in a future Halloween or Yugioh list!

My favorite Grim Reaper is, of course, Grim from The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy.
Also, why don't you leave a link to judgment meters UA-cam channel whenever you do a video with her? I mean, given how many subscribers you have, I'm surprised she doesn't have as many.
We've actually never considered it! I always like when she does a video in my community tab and link it in my livestreams, but since we only made her an account in February 2019, we never thought of it since she's always been a part of mine where we haven't had anything to link in the prior years when she was a cohost. We made the account so she could reply to comments and as a place to put our extra videos, but we'll think about more ways to promote her channel in the future!

Ah Halloween. The holiday of trick or treating and was from Irish folklore and it's cold outside. Seriously the hottest it's 36 degrees Fahrenheit and there's going to be kids being cold, "trrrickkk oooor treattttt.!" And parents trying to keep them warm but they are like" but mom/dad the coat is covering the costume! Mom/Dad "but sweethearts it's cold and there's even snow." Yea there's freaking snow outside in the fall. Also please tell me what temperature is outside from where you all are please.

What about Death from the Twilight Zone? He is in an episode in the first season where he was going to take the soul of a salesman, but ends up not taking his soul because the man was stubborn. Death was actually being reasonable, acting cool headed and giving the man different options of staying alive longer. You can take a look online or on Netflix
I've never seen it, but it sounds like a really cool concept! I'll have to check it out.

We actually were going to talk about him in the entry after transitioning to a different reaper that wore purple, but we felt the entry dragged on, so we cut it. He at least appears in the intro as a consolation prize!
