I’m a real Reacher/Lee Child fan and this first season’s episodes track and reflect the character perfectly. I think the series should and will be a total hit. Well done from start to finish.
This Series had everything I could have wished for. Good story, good acting, well directed. Some Drama, some Romance, and some Vengeance and Payback. Loved it!!
It was one of the best Amazon series. It has everything right including the number of episodes. This is their next franchise like The Boys and Wheel of Time.
I'd have to say this version of Reacher was the next best thing to reading the books. I do hope they bring it back as there are so many good stories to tell about him.
Finally, they did Lee Child proud. At least it’s closer to the Reacher books, and there are plenty of them for the future of an ongoing Reacher series.
I agree, although I'm guessing that having a major star like Tom play Reacher in the 1st movie (which I thought was great, the 2nd, not so much) brought a lot more fans to the Reacher books, which will now bring more fans to this show which will hopefully turn into a lot more seasons.
@@shadowgarr7649 just looked it up - wonder why he showed up in the shitty one. well, not as good as the first one - Tom sold the role very well, it's just his size was the problem.
I enjoyed the show. As a child of the 80s this reminded me a lot of the action films of that era. It actually got me interested in the book series. And the actor is a brick house. Damn. Looking forward to season two!
@nicolas bellon he’s been in a ton of stuff, from Titans a comic book show to being a Nina Turtle in the Michael Bay movie. He’s got a bad behind the scenes reputation tho, it’s what got him killed off from Titans, but that let him take this role which he’s freaking made for, tho Reacher isn’t “handsome” in the books.
I loved this series, because it was based on doing the right thing even if you had to do wrong things to accomplish it. Also I loved the self control, intellect and strength, and psychic gift of Jack. The other actors were very good pulled me right in as if it was a true story that I was watching at the time that it was happening. Great writing!!!!
Excellent version of first Reacher book - The Killing Floor. Ritchson as Reacher captures the character’s wry, worldly and supremely confident manner. His physical size is essential for embodying the role in a way that captures Reacher’s commanding presence. Onward to Season 2!
He is the Jack Reacher I saw in every book. He is perfect. The production was fantastic. Can't wait for another season (many more seasons). Please do more. I'm 71 and this has been a hilight in a very mundane year.
Now that the believable embodiment of Jack Reacher has stepped forward from the shadows for our appreciation, it would be rewarding to see the series continue, especially if Roscoe works her way back into the scripts. They made a great team.
I started watching Reacher, wondering if it was really going to be worth my time. What I discovered was that with each successive episode, the storyline became more and more intense. By the end of the last episode of the season, I was riveted. I was also dismayed that Season 1 had concluded, as I was craving more. Reacher is an amazing show, and that's saying something as I'm not a big television viewer. I am waiting for Season 2 and I'm sure the new storyline will be just as intense.
Love the series! I don't know where Alan Ritchson has been, but was great! He's a real throwback male lead. Reacher had everything I need in a series. Bring on season 2!!
He played Arthur Curry (Aquaman) on the show Smallville. He also played the Superhero Hawk on the DC Universe show Titans, and he also played Thad Castle on the show Blue Mountain State
I agree. I saw this and thought...Wow. How'd they get a superstar to be in an Amazon original... then found out this was his first big role and was blown away. This guy has the star power and charisma of the Rock!!! My prediction is that Alan Ritchson will be a mega billion dollar star within a decade.
As a fan of the books, I really enjoyed this series. Tom Cruise is a great actor, and his fight scenes were awesome, but no amount of suspension of disbelief could ever convince me he looked intimitating or scary. Alan Ritchson IMO is the perfect Reacher and I am eagerly anticipating a season 2.
I’ve since read all the books because of this series. Must say the producers did a great job with this character and with the book. Although something’s are different, the story stays true to the book and it’s character’s. Can not wait for season 2.
Absolutely, they need to do, not just one more season, but sign this guy up for 5 or more! We binged the whole season in 2 nights. It was like seeing the book on the screen. Excellent work and great casting.
I binged watch it for two days. Also, anyone who have read the books will notice a lot of small details that's on the books. I know I did and made the show 100 percent better.
I have read all of Lee Childs Reacher novels and watched the two Reacher movies with Tom Cruse. We finally have a Jack Reacher that is true to the novels. I can't wait for season two.
I think your opening statement about it being a call back to "traditional" many heros, is very apt. And I personally found the series engaging in both the twists, the overall plot and the action.
I read The Killing Floor a while back, and gotta say that while they strayed from the source material slightly, I found it to be very well executed. They added another strong female character (very progressive of them), played with the villains a bit, and brought the setting from the mid 1990s to the 21st century. No real added fluff, just the right amount of campy action hero, and you have yourself a very enjoyable show.
I've read the entire Jack Reacher series of books. This series was nearly spot on from the book The Killing Floor. I really enjoyed it and I hope they continue the series for a while.
Right?!? After the movies I was so worried, but they freaking nailed it. My only complaint is the way Neely dresses and acts. She’s the head of a massive PI firm, and doesn’t dress like a 90s lesbian. She also doesn’t talk to freely to Reacher, she maintains that military discipline when they speak, they don’t talk like best friends. That’s a very minor complaint tho, they nail her essence anyways.
@@KelticTim it's a few things they changed or left out. Like in the book when Reacher was at the barbershop hearing the story of what REALLY happened to blind Blake. Small things like that
Uh no, the pool fight scene was pure BS nonsense, just a commercial for Magnum Research that no spec operator would ever let happen. The warehouse gunfight was dumb as hell since all the bad guys where set up to just stand around and not be able to hit anything, straight out of a loser Disney movie.
I thought Lee Child’s one line was an authentic apology to the human behind the character. I am humbled and astounded by the sacrifices Alan Ritchson made for this role.
I love the Reacher series. I have read a bunch of the novels & wow. Saw your Reacher, fell in love. Alan Richson is just perfect for the roll, plus all the other characters make the audience believe them. You either really like the obvious good guys & hate the slimy bad guys. Such fun! Thank you for doing the show
It was the most enjoyable series I have watched in years. It perfectly captured the books and improved on them because it allowed us into the backstories of some of the side characters. Reacher was perfectly cast and acted by Alan. Any imperfections of the series stem from the book itself (e.g. the FBI contacted just happened to be the ONE FBI agent who was in on this conspiracy, Reacher can take a crowbar to his arms and face and not have one broken bone?). But readers forgive these "writer's conveniences" because the character of Reacher is so much fun and the plots are (usually) a lot of fun as well. Loved this series - can't wait for Season 2.
I have watched REACHER season one at least eight times. I just can't get enough of the brilliance of this series. I would be CRUSHED if there wasn't a season two.

Absolutely loved watching Reacher. Well written, well acted, and lots of surprises throughout the 8 episodes. I recommend the show to everyone. Definitely want a season 2
I've read all the Reacher books and gave this adaptation 2 thumbs up. I like that they started with the 1st book - one wonders why Tom Cruise didn't do the same. My only nitpick with the series is that Reacher spent too much time driving a car, which from the books you learn he does grudgingly.
I agree about the car thing, however they never show him playing Fast and the Furious like the Cruise movie. Remember, he’s capable of driving, just doesn’t like it and knows he’s not the best at it. He does drive when he has too
Also, too much knife fighting. Reacher doesn’t like knives. But these are nitpicks. The series was excellent. I want them to do Persuader. Need to find a giant for that one.
The most jarring moment was when he commanded his GPS to look for motels near Augusta bus station. But I like that they've set it in the 2020s and that Neagley is tech savvy. I think it'll add to the series.
I watched the whole season in one sitting. The hooks at the end of each episode kept me engaged and glued to my seat. Much like Lee Child’s novels the tv series is addictive. I also prefer the television series to the movies. Alan Richtman embodies the physicality of the main character and episodic tv does justice to the plot of the novel. Reacher definitely should have a second season. I enjoyed it. 😊😊😊😊
I binged watched when new seasons of Bosch arrived, and Reacher takes the detective aspect for me further with more action. In the mean time, I’ll watch Reacher again and dive into the books.
I've read nearly all the Lee Child books, although I might stop now that he is no longer writing them, and this series was very enjoyable. Alan Ritchson was a very good Reacher. He does not have Tom Cruise acting chops but his Reacher persona was much more in line with the books. Looking forward to Season 2. Does anyone know which book it will follow.
After 4 episodes I'd tell my husband "only 1 Reacher tonight! I want it to last!" I'm like that with books too. I'll put it down to prolong the ending. I LOVED it and Alan was perfect. Can't wait for the next one.
The series reminded me a lot of the author Robert Parker's writing style with his Spencer and Jesse Stone's characters. I enjoyed it and am looking forward to a 2nd season.
I binge watched in two days. Then I told my wife she would like it and watched it again. She did like it. I've been following the smattering of news about the next season. I can't wait. In the meantime, I've been reading the Reacher books. I did enjoy tthe Reacher/Cruise movie for the story, I just had to suspend my beliefs of the character's physical size.
Finished watching this great of a show in 2 days and plan to watch it again, haven't watched an action thriller like this in awhile, the plot keeps you guessing, good action that doesn't drag along too much, everything is just perfect for me. Can't wait for a season 2! And the casting is superb!
Thanks for the excellent analysis! Amazon would have to be out of their minds not to continue this series. Reacher is by far the best thing they’ve ever done. Considering Amazon got their start as humble booksellers and probably made considerable coin from Lee Child’s books why not honor him and his character by continuing on with creating the books into film. Blessings to you all!
Very good adaptation. I really appreciated how true they were to the books and character. I’ve read all 26 books in order and can still remember most of the details from book 1. My one complaint is that they drag out the fight scenes too long to make it more tense. Part of the joy of the Reacher series is that he almost never falls into a trap or let’s anyone get the jump on him. There’s no way the cousin should have nearly beat him in the swimming pool, and the final fight should have been a little less Hollywood. But other than that, was nearly perfect. Looking forward to season 2.
One of the fights with a Venezuelan and the fight with the cousin bothered me. In both Reacher survived by pure luck. Roscoe got there just in time and Reacher got to the gun barely the second time. That's just too much luck and not the way that a badass can afford to do things.
@@jmchez great point! I saw that too and was thinking I couldn’t remember an incident in the books where reacher had to get lucky. There are times where he has had to take a chance, but never won on dumb luck.
I was okay with how LONG the climactic fight scene was. I just hated how nerfed they made Reacher. He made a TON of rookie mistakes that Reacher never would have. Hated that.
I worked over seas in Oilfield Camps for 27 years. I first came across a Lee Child book in Nigeria and felt a kinship with the Reacher character. I read several of them and told my friends about them. When I seen years later they were going to put Jack Reacher on the Big Screen, I was all excited until I seen Tom Cruise was picked to play Reacher. I automatically started saying to myself, he's to small to play Reacher and refused to buy into any of the movies starring Cruise. Then I was Trolling on the internet and came across this and checked it out. The first time I seen Alan Ritchson as Reacher, he was exactly how I imagined him in the books. Who ever cast Ritchson as Reacher did their homework. I look forward to another Season.
Surprisingly really well done. Alan Richmon is the perfect casting for this role and action choreography is exceptional especially compared to the shaky cam stuff you normally get in these types of shows. Can’t wait for season 2
@@7ebr830 I see you've reposted this comment a number of times. Are you expecting the masses to support your position? I agree with Lee Childs that he should have named the series after Roscoe and had Reacher as a walk-on instead. Of course he was kidding, but he did dearly love Willa Fitzgerald's portrayal of Roscoe - as did I.
reacher is up there as one of the best Amazon shows currently imo. Supporting cast is great and Alan Ritchson is an absolute force, perfect reacher cast looking forward to more of him in Season 2.

I watched two of the trailers for Reacher and was hooked. Signed up and binged watched all 8 episodes. Very well worth watching and I'm looking forward to a second season. A six foot five inch Reacher is alot more realistic and intimidating than one of the lollipop guild munchkins from the earlier movies. I enjoyed it very much.
I enjoyed the season -- it had a good balance, and they brought in secondary characters from Reacher's past that enhanced the storyline. Looking forward to what comes next!
The final showdown in the final episode had a CBS feel to it. a Little watered down compared to the prison fight in EP1. Aside , from that this was an excellent show. Bring another season as quickly as possible please
I agreed with you. Also, I hated the fight at Hubble's house with Kliner's cousin. Reacher, able to take on a badass prison crew and earlier kicked the cousin's butt with one hand in a restaurant, but loses to him and nearly got killed later when he was in Rambo mode? Feels like some suits had too much input.
I binge watched all 8 episodes yesterday. Was gonna take a break after 5 episodes. But then I thought....one more. Then there were only 2 left. Then after the 7th episode....you can't just say I'll finish it tomorrow....it already was tomorrow. Looking forward to season 2.
I think you should show this show forever as it is brilliant. I've watched it from start to finish at least three times now and I will probably watch it all over again.
Love this Reacher!! He’s perfect 🤩 Alan is a great actor and he pulls off every scene perfectly. The entire cast was outstanding. Loved Jasper in the scene when he dropped his recorder when Reacher said “ you’ll find them in the autopsy” Laughed out loud 😂 I have watched this series over and over. Can’t wait to see Season 2!!
This series was OUTSTANDING! I can't wait for season 2. I can't say enough good about this series. Alan Ritchson is the PERFECT actor for this role. Super well done by all Roscoe was perfect!
This was a fantastic beginning to a series I hope sticks around several seasons. These several-episode series that focus on developing an entire book (unlike a 2-hour movie) are the future of well-done adaptations. Alan Ritchman is perfectly cast.
Have read all the Reacher novels and this series followed the plot line so closely that I could anticipate just about every scene. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to season 2. It's great to have a Reacher who matches up in physical stature with the books.
My husband and I were not familiar with the books and just stumbled onto the trailer. We thought it looked interesting, so gave it a try and were instantly hooked. I think we watched the season in three nights. Looking forward to several more seasons. (And Alan Ritchson is an imposing hero; he's definite star material for years to come.)
I looked it up, the 1st season is based off the 1st book "Killing Floor". The 1st movie was based on the 9th book "One Shot" and the sequel was based off the 18th book "Never Go Back." I hope the show does good enough to remake the 2 movies and I hope they do a good job on making them better than the movies.
@@nathanieleasonbign81970 The book series is pretty much in chronological order for the first 10 or 11 books, except for "The Enemy" & "The Affair" which were both set in Reacher's active duty days. I'd like to see more stories from his military days like The Enemy.
I totally enjoyed the series and hope for future seasons to follow. Great action, super casting, good storylines, and it maintained the feel of the book. Well done Amazon I hope they keep this show going.
More Reacher, now would be good. Lee Child has SEVERAL more Reacher books to produce. The man now playing Reacher more closely resembles the man I saw in my minds eye, while reading all of the Reacher series books. Finally a correct casting of the character, Reacher. More, please.
Spoiler Alert - As someone whom never read a JR book, I thought the series was great. The only issue (minor nit-pick) was that they made the shaved-headed lacky too much of a match with Reacher. He kills all of the other trained assasins without issue, but when it comes to the bald-headed lacky, they are evenly matched. Other than that, it made me want to read the JR series.
I know right that bald headed lacky was the only one that gave Reacher a hard time in a fight out of everyone in the whole season I was like Tf why him 😂
Yes, it was worth the watch. I have known a few guys like Reacher. These types of people are always something of an enigma. That being said, they're some hard men and shouldn't be trifle with.
I really enjoyed it, everyone involved did a great job and it had A perfect "90's action tv shows in the vein of Renegade" vibe. Looking forward to season 2.

Can't wait for the next season.
Probably one of the best Amazon original series. I would definitely watch a season 2
Jack Reacher and Jack Ryan. both great shows. cant wait for more. Definitely two of the better shows on Amazon
Watch the expanse!
This Series had everything I could have wished for. Good story, good acting, well directed. Some Drama, some Romance, and some Vengeance and Payback. Loved it!!
And lots of humor! 😄
I am new to this series but love it
It was one of the best Amazon series. It has everything right including the number of episodes. This is their next franchise like The Boys and Wheel of Time.
Need more seasons
Thing is it’s just the first book. They have a lot of great stories to pull from
It needed 2 more episodes. So I had 2 more to watch on saturday after binging on friday
So no one is going to mention the woke bs from Roscoe and Neaggle (or whatever her flipping name is)?
@@7ebr830 yea, but, they need to put that, its like a requirement. but,
I'd have to say this version of Reacher was the next best thing to reading the books. I do hope they bring it back as there are so many good stories to tell about him.
Keep the show going. Quality television shows like this are few and far between these days. This show had a quality story, good acting, and action.
LEE literally has a short cameo in the final episode in the Diner - like it's his STAMP OF APPROVAL.
Just watched a interview with the actor . He read all the books and met with the writer also he did not watch Tom’s adaptation of Reacher
@@MrHartApart Child had an appearance as a TSA clerk in one of the Cruise films.
@nicolas bellon it’s a bad show but he’s good in it 👍
This is an excellent series! Hopefully, the powers that be will realize they have a huge hit on their hands and continue to produce the show.
I loved this series, because it was based on doing the right thing even if you had to do wrong things to accomplish it. Also I loved the self control, intellect and strength, and psychic gift of Jack. The other actors were very good pulled me right in as if it was a true story that I was watching at the time that it was happening. Great writing!!!!
exactly!
Clint, that's called "ironic commitment" in literature. Robert Parker's old "Spencer" series did the same thing.
I have read all Lee Child's book and can't wait for season 2 of Reacher. Alan Ritchson was a really great Reacher and a good cast.
I need another season! This is the Reacher I’ve been waiting for.
Me too
A lot of us were. Hopefully we get a bunch of seasons because Jack Reacher is one of my favorite characters of all time.
Now that the believable embodiment of Jack Reacher has stepped forward from the shadows for our appreciation, it would
be rewarding to see the series continue, especially if Roscoe works her way back into the scripts. They made a great team.
Yeah, that WOULD be great!
Love the series. Love the actors. I eagerly await season 2 and 3 and 4 etc.❤❤
Good though Roscoe's character is, you can't bring her back in new scripts. That would defeat the whole idea of Reacher moving on in each book.
Damn good series!!! Loved the Lee Child Cameo at the end! Hope they do more series ! This was done really well!
you will love it even more ( I know I will ) if they do it like what Stan Lee did
Agreed
In Lee Child's cameo he's walking by Alan because he's tall whereas in the movie he played a cop seated in a chair because Tom is short.
Love the series! I don't know where Alan Ritchson has been, but was great! He's a real throwback male lead.
Reacher had everything I need in a series. Bring on season 2!!
Take the trip down THAD CASTLE lane. He plays the exact opposite character in Blue Mountain State. It's hilarious.
Exactly my thoughts!
Agree 100 %
My sentiments exactly ! Very much looking forward to season 2.
These fight scenes really incorporated Reachers tactics though, elbows, headbutts, knee strikes
@@rrphill8220 headbutt , his unique one , timing of it and element of surprise for the opponent
I’ve since read all the books because of this series. Must say the producers did a great job with this character and with the book. Although something’s are different, the story stays true to the book and it’s character’s.
Can not wait for season 2.
Just finished season 1. Loved every minute of it! Excited for what comes next.
I loved the show! Bingewatched it on day one. Please give us a season two!
I watched all the episodes in one day too.
Love every minute of it.
Amazon announced there will be a season 2!
Great Series,, Finally a Jack Reacher who fits the Books. Can't wait for season 2. Way to go Amazon!!
What strong female character was added? I didnt read the books
@@nihilist3866 yep
The Killing Floor is very similar to a blues tune known as Hard Time Killin’ Floor Blues by Skip James.
@@nihilist3866 Neagley was in the books, but not in this one - she doesn't appear until later in the series.
@@JamesChiles it looks like they are angling to take out Garber in favour of adding in Neagley
Agreed
So no one is going to mention the woke bs from Roscoe and Neaggle (or whatever her flipping name is)?
I thought Lee Child’s one line was an authentic apology to the human behind the character. I am humbled and astounded by the sacrifices Alan Ritchson made for this role.
I love the Reacher series. I have read a bunch of the novels & wow. Saw your Reacher, fell in love. Alan Richson is just perfect for the roll, plus all the other characters make the audience believe them. You either really like the obvious good guys & hate the slimy bad guys. Such fun! Thank you for doing the show
Finally a Reacher that fits the story. Great casting and can’t wait until season 2.
DEFINITELY REACHER IS ** BAD-TO-THE-BONE,
BUT....I COULD EASILY
TAKE HIM DOWN..😄😄 YEAH..DOWN TO A RESTAURANT AND BUY HIM SOME APPLE
🥧 PIE.
I have watched REACHER season one at least eight times. I just can't get enough of the brilliance of this series. I would be CRUSHED if there wasn't a season two.
There is but it's coming out 2023 Feb 7
I haven't gotten to see all of the first season yet but what I have seen its just great.!!!!!! I can't wait to see the whole thing!!!!! I got into Reacher by way of the 2 movies of Tom Cruise an I loved 😍❤♥💕 them great actor 👏👍!!!!! But this guy Alan is what I pictured on my mind that he should look 👍like just the
And act like an the right size an yes size matters. Crusie is 👍👌👍 but Alan is amazing as Reacher. Now after so waiting for someone on another series that's spot on for the same reason I got one now REACHER AN ALAN. YES THERE IS A GOD. I GOT MY WISH AT LONG LAST!!!!!
FROM THE DEEP SOUTH
My opinion I thought it was one of the best series I've ever seen. It had Action, suspense, drama and great characters. 5 STARS to everyone involved in it. Can't wait for season 2, hope they hurry finally something worth watching.
Well done Amazon! Great transition of book to video. More (a whole lot more) PLEASE
Easily the best new show i have seen in the last 5 years. Ritchson is solid and the supporting cast was all excellent.
He does drive when he has too
Was written 1st but "The Affair" is set before and might have set the character up better.
The car was a $230,000 Bentley.
Same !!! Watched all the episodes in one night...and I NEVER do that
So no one is going to mention the woke bs from Roscoe and Neaggle (or whatever her flipping name is)?
I binged watched when new seasons of Bosch arrived, and Reacher takes the detective aspect for me further with more action. In the mean time, I’ll watch Reacher again and dive into the books.
I have read every Reacher book, this guy is perfect. Best show I have seen in a long time.

Reacher is definitely worth a watch. I am looking forward to the second season. They need to keep the same crew of script writers.
After 4 episodes I'd tell my husband "only 1 Reacher tonight! I want it to last!" I'm like that with books too. I'll put it down to prolong the ending. I LOVED it and Alan was perfect. Can't wait for the next one.
I know the feeling.
Couldn't agree more. All the fight scenes should be about as long as the one in the jail cell. Loved that scene!
I was okay with how LONG the climactic fight scene was. I just hated how nerfed they made Reacher. He made a TON of rookie mistakes that Reacher never would have. Hated that.
I had a problem with the runt kicking his ass.
Very good show! I recommend it for those looking for a well- told action story. Hope for season 2 soon.
Great show with a great script, actors, and action. Captured the spirit of the book very well. Can't wait for the next season.

Of course he was kidding, but he did dearly love Willa Fitzgerald's portrayal of Roscoe - as did I.
reacher is up there as one of the best Amazon shows currently imo. Supporting cast is great and Alan Ritchson is an absolute force, perfect reacher cast looking forward to more of him in Season 2.

The series was very good and I will wait eagerly for another season. I sure wish they could contrive a way to get Roscoe (Willa Fitzgerald) back in the show since she was terrific.
I was cool to her at first, but she powered through that character, and she is hotter than I first suspected.
For sure. No way I could leave Roscoe behind!
Of course, if the US treasury were not cheapskates, they would have a different paper per denomination, thus easily preventing this fraud.
Modern plastic notes would also be immune.
