Qveen_Country1605 Are you vegetarian? Going vegan from being a meat-eater is hard, You might want to start vegetarian if not already. It's ok keep trying!
I’m so jealous that your grocery store separates out the dairy free from the non dairy free milks and stuff. At the various stores in my area they’re all mixed (and change by store) so it makes it a little harder to shop by section.
Liv I love how you care about eating health but you're actually realistic and budget friendly about it. sooo many vegan influencers/youtubers will post food that is just so clearly not realistic or affordable for most people and its so refreshing to see someone shopping with that in mind!
Great to hear. Planning/research is the key. So disappointing to see some UA-camr do a plant-based diet for a week or month or whatever. Do no research and somehow find it "hard". Any dietary change, even trying to reduce sodium, or whatever, needs to have research beforehand to be successful.
Liv's channel was the first UA-cam channel I started watching when I went Vegan over 2 years ago!! Have fun and enjoy your new journey!! Much love, support, peace and blessings!! Never hesitate to ask questions! That's why we are here, Love~ 💖💖💖
as someone who also lives in Halifax, I am so so grateful for this video. Not only are these all products I can actually find in my city, but I can go to this exact grocery store. Thanks Liv :)
Yes!!! Most grocery shopping videos you see are from US or more expensive stores like Whole Foods and they have so many products that we don’t have. I just go to Superstore so I love seeing what options there are! (Also, this video is reminding me how much better Superstore is in NS compared to B.C.)
For those of you thinking the food she’s buying is expensive, American prices are always lower than Canadian prices because of differences in currency.
Yes! It may seem tedious to sit and read through every label, but you learn to scan through ingredients in no time. Even things like hash browns sometimes have milk, so read read read.
I just did a mini vegan grocery shop last night and it wasn’t super easy. Glad you posted this for when I do more shopping next week. Oh! and I got the ingredients that you used for your vegan cornbread. I’m gonna make it later this week with some veggie chili.
Thank you so much for this I want to try going vegan for a bit, even if it’s for 3-4 days out of the week to slowly incorporate it in my new life plan.
I love this idea! Having a printable grocery list is super helpful for those trying a vegan lifestyle, including my partner, who I just shared this with :) Thank you from both of us!
I've been vegan for 3 and a half years and I don't live in Canada, but I still really enjoyed this video and found it really helpful! Thank you Liv, I love your channel so much
I've been vegan for a half a year now and clicking on this video I thought "yeah what new can I learn" but honestly it was an awesome and informative video. Thank you!! ❤
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Coming from NB, it was so cool to see you in the superstore and seeing what I can actually get that is vegan, makes it alot easier for us to actually see what we can get and where, please post more videos of this and looking forward to seeing your cook book!
Thank you for going to the store for us and showing how to shop for plant based food saved me from feeling aimless when i go your effort is very appreciated👍
Hi Liv! When it comes to oils the one that "resists" best the heat when cooking is actually coconut oil. However ,I'm from southern Spain and we always use olive oil since it is produced here and is the "star" product of our mediterranean diet. For us, sunflower oil has a very poor quality and we barely use it for cooking since it doesn't resist well heat and becomes more toxic than for example coconut or olive oil
AHHH LIV. Thank you so much for the first list idea. We always get stuck on what to make for the week, but if we write it out, it will be helpful! Thanks so much!
This video is SO helpful!!! Sometimes we can feel quite limited in our local food store but I didn't notice how many plant based options were available. Also I am learning to budget in the food area which is so difficult for me and I learned some really good tips thanks to you! Tank you so much for sharing, you have no idea how many people you are helping!! :D
BABY YOU'RE A FIIIIREWORKKK lol anyway this is such a helpful video, especially for new vegans! I like that you also show the price breakdowns -- being vegan can be like super inexpensive if you know what to look for!! And when you are vegan for a while you get mad skills when reading food labels too haha. Vegan powers!! 😎
We don't have that amount of vegan food in shops in France... (it dépends on where we live acutally) I hope it will improve soon :) loved that video *by vegan food I mean pizzas or almond butter or ice cream etc
Ici Pauline la marque Barilla vient de sortir une sauce pesto et une sauce bolognaise vegan! Sinon Monoprix et Carrefour ont leur propre game de produits frais vegan, et c'est très bon!
I love my Instant Pot for quickly cooking dried beans. Saves lots of money (dried beans are usually considerably cheaper than canned) and avoids the potential chemicals/BPA in the lining of cans plus the added sodium often found in canned beans.
Yes I do all these things too! Works great for me. I also try to pick recipes where the ingredients overlap a bit so I don’t buy something and end up wasting some of it. For example spinach
I tried being vegan at 7 years old,In my opinion while that time I thought being vegan is the worst but I feel like being vegan is like “different” like I like the meals better and I feel more energized and “refreshed” from the meals I eat daily. Liv your tips helped so much! Usually at the store,my mom and I would get everything separate you know what I mean? Now I’ve been vegan for two years,so basically I’m now 9 years old in third grade. Only one more month until in fourth grade! But being vegan is pretty hard, you can’t eat some of the food items you loved so much before being vegan but your candy tip helped me because I kinda have a sweet tooth♡ Thank you so much Liv! Your Fan,Jessica Diep♡
This is super super helpful. I just had a midnight thought of like hey let’s go vegan and now I’m here and was like I literally don’t know anything wow. So thank you!!
I love making sure that I buy things in glass jars so that I can save them and use them at the bulk bins. I found a local market that has a bulk bin and I am so excited!
I have to read the ingredients information before I place the items in my cart. If it has sugar in it, I put it back on the shelf. I’m allergic to sugar, eggs and dairy. That’s why I became Vegan in the first place. Thanks for sharing your grocery haul.
thank you for the audio warnings, i heard you perfectly! lovely ideas. We are slowly starting to get more vegan products here, i'm not vegan but i love your channel and i'm interesting in learning more about the food, so it's always nice and pleasant on your channel.
Thank you so much :) this is very useful. Tomorrow i have the opportunity to go out to stock up during the quarantine for my fam... ❤ so far ive been eating vegetable soup or stir fry...
Yay! Go Liv! This is a lot of narration- as it calls for! You did great! :). Thanks a lot. I might go back to shopping at my local Ralph’s instead of Whole Foods!!
I'm new to be coming a vegan so I found your video to be very helpful. It's nice to have some idea what the labels look like and about where to find them in the store. Thank you! :)
Great video! The basic staples can be so cheap and healthy if you’re on a budget. The music at the grocery store was giving me PTSD flashbacks of working retail! Joking but not joking!
Incredibly helpful! Makes shopping a lot easier :) I also appreciate the time you took to record this, I would be too nervous recording in my local grocery store lol
Very very helpful! Going vegan, and I am trying to have everything organized so I won't stress too much trying to figure things out at the last min. Also, thanks for the volume warnings 😂❤️
I’m planning to become vegan but never seen a vegan option in any of grocery stores in my area, which part of Canada you live? And where is that grocery store located?
Great video! Reading labels is definitely the best advice for shoppers. Can't believe they put fish products in tomato sauce. So unnecessary. Thank you for sharing!
If this is like a lob laws or superstore you can usually price match with the Flipp app, this allows you to compare prices from different stores to save money!!
Love love loved this video! I love that you thoroughly explained items in each section, super helpful. I would love more grocery store videos! But maybe at a different grocery store near you because the music truly was appallingly loud 😂
my supermarket also has a reduced price produce shelf/trolley and so many good deals! especially bananas i can get a small bunch for around a dollar or i got last week 7 or 8 yellow/button squashes for 99c!
Just a tip. I don’t know if this is applicable to NS but in Ottawa (ON) Walmart and superstore price match to other main grocery store (farm boy, metro, food basics, independent, etc) so you get to get quality food at a budget friendly prices and only go to one store for sales so I use an app (reebee) to look up sale items as I put things in my cart and get them on the other stores sale price!
Omg this is super helpful. Everytime I wonder how do I go grocery shopping when I go vegan in the future (I'm 14 and my parents dont allow me to be vegan) thank you so much! And also, you are sooo beautiful!! I was mesmerized by ur eyes fjjskdskf
I have a question about sugar. I understand that it can be processed with bone char making it nonvegan. I get that I should look for organic sugar. But what I have a question about is when I’m buying something packaged, and it lists “sugar” in the ingredients. For example, ketchup, or canned beans that are listed as vegetarian, still have sugar in them. Or salad dressings etc. what kind of sugar can I assume that is? Are those items still vegan? Basically if I see sugar in the ingredient list, is it vegan?
Man if my grocery stores were like that I would've been vegan a looong time ago haha ! In Switzerland it's super difficult. Like the only non-dairy product that's easy to find is plant milk haha (I'm exaggerating but not that much ^^). Still love watching food shopping videos though, I don't see it as a chore either !
I love your recipes and your video style! 💚I’ve been watching your vids for quite a while now and I just wanted to mention something that isn’t vegan specific but relates to reading labels. Try to avoid anything with Palm oil in it (you’d be amazing at how many things it’s used in) It’s the biggest reason that Orang-utan populations are suffering so badly in Indonesia as huge areas of their rainforest habitat are being cleared for palm oil plantations. I know here in the U.K. it’s been talked about a lot recently and there’s a push for supermarkets to boycott products using palm oil. Sorry for the long comment but I feel quite passionately about it. 🙈 Can’t wait for your cookbook! ❤️ xx
A THING ABOUT THE REDUCED SHELF: even if your grocer doesn't have one, ask the staff if they have any "riper" produce in the back. My supermarket pulls them from the shelves and will sell it reduced if I just ask!
Anyone who is vegan or trying to be vegan: I’m proud of you, keep it up 😊🌱
Avocado thank you 😀
Qveen_Country1605 Are you vegetarian? Going vegan from being a meat-eater is hard, You might want to start vegetarian if not already. It's ok keep trying!
@Qveen_Country1605 but you're still trying ❤️❤️
awwwe thank you lol
@Avocado Thank you!!! 😁
That's so cool that you have a 50% off cart!!! I wish my store had that, I'd be all over it 😂
We have one but its mainly really bad junk and sells out super fast. You'll be lucky to find some wilted salad mix
I’m so jealous that your grocery store separates out the dairy free from the non dairy free milks and stuff. At the various stores in my area they’re all mixed (and change by store) so it makes it a little harder to shop by section.
But it also makes non-vegans aware of what they could be buying instead when it's visible amongst everything else!
The "separate" plant milk section is actually right beside the dairy section :)
Same!
I know right :(
Shout out to the employees
Liv I love how you care about eating health but you're actually realistic and budget friendly about it. sooo many vegan influencers/youtubers will post food that is just so clearly not realistic or affordable for most people and its so refreshing to see someone shopping with that in mind!
Just went vegan 2 weeks ago. I’m about to go shopping tonight so thank you for this video. 🙏🙏🙏
Great to hear. Planning/research is the key. So disappointing to see some UA-camr do a plant-based diet for a week or month or whatever. Do no research and somehow find it "hard". Any dietary change, even trying to reduce sodium, or whatever, needs to have research beforehand to be successful.

🙌
How has it been going for you? I'd really like to know
as someone who also lives in Halifax, I am so so grateful for this video. Not only are these all products I can actually find in my city, but I can go to this exact grocery store. Thanks Liv :)
I agree, I'm in Annapolis and it is nice that I can go in the same store as well.
I saw the store and I was like....”wtf?? She’s Nova Scotian???” I live in Halifax too so this is so cool!
I was just going to post and ask what province she's in! I'm in NB. Superstore has such an awesome health food selection!
Yes!!! Most grocery shopping videos you see are from US or more expensive stores like Whole Foods and they have so many products that we don’t have. I just go to Superstore so I love seeing what options there are! (Also, this video is reminding me how much better Superstore is in NS compared to B.C.)
Every time I look at frozen fruit:
"nothing is on sale..perfect"
+Sarah Studt haha it’s either allll the brands or none of the brands. They need to switch it up 😂
For those of you thinking the food she’s buying is expensive, American prices are always lower than Canadian prices because of differences in currency.
Canadian prices are around twice as much as U.S.
Ohhh
Very true. Food prices here in Canada are pricier but we still have a lot of great options to choose from, if on a plant-based/vegan food lifestyle :)
Yes! It may seem tedious to sit and read through every label, but you learn to scan through ingredients in no time. Even things like hash browns sometimes have milk, so read read read.
Jennifer Williams In the U S.....we have an allergen section on the bottom of the label that says contains milk...or other allergic ingredients....
I just did a mini vegan grocery shop last night and it wasn’t super easy. Glad you posted this for when I do more shopping next week. Oh! and I got the ingredients that you used for your vegan cornbread. I’m gonna make it later this week with some veggie chili.
YUM sounds amazing :)
It gets easier!
Thank you so much for this I want to try going vegan for a bit, even if it’s for 3-4 days out of the week to slowly incorporate it in my new life plan.
I hope it works out for you 🙂
Same
Silk almond milk is the best for lattes/cappucinos/frothed drinks. It frothes up reaaaaaal nice!
It’s so nice to see a fellow Canadian 💕
Preordered your book can’t wait to try your recipes 😊
I love this idea! Having a printable grocery list is super helpful for those trying a vegan lifestyle, including my partner, who I just shared this with :) Thank you from both of us!
What I learned from Liv B: Read Labels! :D
jk... I read labels all the time. Great video! I looove this store, looks very nice! :)
I loved that you included the mindfulness part when grocery shopping! We often take our privileges for granted.
I've been vegan for 3 and a half years and I don't live in Canada, but I still really enjoyed this video and found it really helpful! Thank you Liv, I love your channel so much
Loved this video so much! I didn't mind the 'bad' audio at all btw, thanks for the reminder to turn the volume back down though :)
Sara B Yeah, the audio was fine‼️‼️
Liv is so polite, sweet and respectful.. I just love her!!
Can’t stop laughing at katy perry’s firework blasting at 16:30 😂😂 thanks for the helpful tips! Great vid.
hahaha its been stuck in my head for days since editing this video!
Hahahah
I've been vegan for a half a year now and clicking on this video I thought "yeah what new can I learn" but honestly it was an awesome and informative video. Thank you!! ❤
I'm so happy to have found a video of someone shopping in a grocery store that I actually have access to. Thanks for the Superstore love!
Superstore is so great-I love it!!!
Would love more grocery vids/hauls/etc!
If every youtuber told me to turn the volume up or down, my life would be so much easier. Thank you
I have been vegan for almost 3 years and this was still helpful for me!
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Coming from NB, it was so cool to see you in the superstore and seeing what I can actually get that is vegan, makes it alot easier for us to actually see what we can get and where, please post more videos of this and looking forward to seeing your cook book!

Jess R yeah also canola oil is bad for cooking. It’s good for things you don’t heat up tho!
Omg I loved the reminder to turn down your volume after de grocery store clips! So thoughtful ❤️
AHHH LIV. Thank you so much for the first list idea. We always get stuck on what to make for the week, but if we write it out, it will be helpful! Thanks so much!
“Paasta” I love how you say it 💁🏽♀️ lol. I’m going vegan and so I’m happy I found your channel. Very informative 👌🏽

I'd love to see more grocery / budget videos! Loved the video though!!
If you haven't tried the PC coconut yogurt yet, omg it's so good!!! and so affordable! .. it's in the regular dairy yogurt section :)
It feels so weird now to see someone at the grocery store without mask 😅
We don't have that amount of vegan food in shops in France... (it dépends on where we live acutally) I hope it will improve soon :) loved that video
*by vegan food I mean pizzas or almond butter or ice cream etc
Ici Pauline peanut butter is also vegan! ;)
peanut butter tends to be vegan, she’s just allergic to peanuts!
Ici Pauline la marque Barilla vient de sortir une sauce pesto et une sauce bolognaise vegan! Sinon Monoprix et Carrefour ont leur propre game de produits frais vegan, et c'est très bon!
I live in Lyon and I discovered that dominos pizza has two vegan pizzas :)
Yes l like to see more shopping videos please

Thank you for the audio announcements. I hate it when suddenly it's super loud, thank you!

Thank you so much for this video! It was really helpful! I’m a new vegan and still haven’t gotten the hang of grocery shopping. 💕
I love making sure that I buy things in glass jars so that I can save them and use them at the bulk bins. I found a local market that has a bulk bin and I am so excited!
girl, you are so pretty!
This is one of your best videos to date! I love how we see more of your personality
I started making my own granola. It’s really easy and way cheaper than buying premade. Great video.. lots of good tips😄
I have to read the ingredients information before I place the items in my cart. If it has sugar in it, I put it back on the shelf. I’m allergic to sugar, eggs and dairy. That’s why I became Vegan in the first place. Thanks for sharing your grocery haul.
What I really wanna know is your skincare and makeup routine? You look amazing. Thank you so much for this video. I love listening to you talk.
thank you for the audio warnings, i heard you perfectly! lovely ideas. We are slowly starting to get more vegan products here, i'm not vegan but i love your channel and i'm interesting in learning more about the food, so it's always nice and pleasant on your channel.
i would love to see more videos like this, and grocery halls! you’re my favorite vegan youtuber, i can’t wait for your cookbook!!!

Liv how often do you go to the grocery store a month? Just curious because when I go, my vegetables dont last long
Yay!
Thank you! :)
Yesss please ! More budget friendly kind of video !
I love your cooking videos too haha but I would love to see more of this kind 😁
I noticed that the blue menu pasta sauces has a Vegetarian Bolognese ! As far as I know it's the only one that doesn't have the fish oil in it :)
We used it in Liv's lasagna soup recipe tonight and it worked great!
Great video! The basic staples can be so cheap and healthy if you’re on a budget.
The music at the grocery store was giving me PTSD flashbacks of working retail! Joking but not joking!
I’m so happy this video is so long!!! Yes Liv 💞
Sidenote:Sis, your hair is giving me life!❤️Sooooooo pretty!
This is the video I knew I needed and keep asking for and now we have it yayyy thank you Liv! 🌱🤗

Would love more grocery videos, grocery hauls and budget friendly grocery shopping. Loved this video ❤️
Yesss more grocery videos! I’ve been waiting for this since your Walmart video lol. Also cuz Canadiaaaaan!!!!
I’m planning to become vegan but never seen a vegan option in any of grocery stores in my area, which part of Canada you live? And where is that grocery store located?
I would love to see more videos like this! It's very helpful. I would love to find ways to spend less on groceries as a vegan.
This video makes me so homesick for Canada! Oh man, I miss the grocery stores there!
theshycanadian what do they look like outside of canada ? what makes canadian grocery stores different (i’m canadian as well)
Great tips thank you were trying to est plaint based foods. I wish you would have shown the labels closer but still great tips. 💓
Great video! Reading labels is definitely the best advice for shoppers. Can't believe they put fish products in tomato sauce. So unnecessary.
Thank you for sharing!
I am so excited for the cookbook to arrive, thank you for the video, very helpful!! :)
Loved this video! So much great information for shopping as a vegan.
If this is like a lob laws or superstore you can usually price match with the Flipp app, this allows you to compare prices from different stores to save money!!
Love this video! You're just like me in the grocery store. Also, just pre ordered the book, and I can't wait to get it! Congrats!
This video was exactly what i needed thank you!!!
I looooove grocery store videos ! Please, do it more often ! Love from Brazil ❤️ ps: you're glowing, girl ! You look gorgeous 😍
You are incredibly thoughtful and considerate! 💜
I just made a banana cake in a mug using the recipe from you cookbook. It's delicious!
Just a tip. I love grocery shopping so I’d definitely be interested in more grocery videos

That looks like the superstore on JosephHowe! Sometimes I miss living in Halifax! I wish I knew all these tips back then!!
I love getting my frozen vegetables and fruits it's great for when vegetables and fruits aren't in season.
Yeah a Canadian grocery store. I actually recognize the brands. Will check out the cookbook.
Yes please to more types of these videos. That superstore offers so much more selection than mine, and im only in Moncton.
