Usually when the owners treat their pets good; like a family member; rather than an animal, then that’s when the pets show greater reciprocity in kindness.

I completely agree with you! Treating pets like family members rather than just animals can have a significant impact on their behavior and how they interact with their owners. When pets are treated with love, kindness, and respect, they tend to reciprocate those same feelings and behaviors towards their owners. This can lead to a stronger bond and a more fulfilling relationship between the pet and owner. Additionally, treating pets well can also have positive effects on their overall health and well-being.

You are 100% correct. I was looking for a reputable breeder for a Doberman. The people I found were a couple of the highest regarded in the state of Washington. I had questions about training. Like, do I need to train them not to be aggressive. They smiled and said that was what they were bred for…..self control, calmness and a desire to please.

A cat saved my life once. I had put some food on the stove and sat down while it was heating up. I passed out bc my blood sugar was low and the food started smoking. The cat got up on my chest and started tickling my face until I woke up. By then, the house was completely full of smoke.

I always said, about my animals, they're a big part of my life. I'm everything in their lives though. They only want to please and protect and the loyalty can't be matched.

I hope they saw the full clip of the cat saving the little boy, she properly body slammed the dog mauling his leg then chased the dog off.

We lived in a Chicago suburb and regularly visited the zoo where the child fell into the gorilla enclosure. These animals are amazing. We often spent a few hours at the area. The gorillas would mimic what the people did. We watched one pick up a map someone dropped. He/she (?) sat up on a branch and ‘read’ it for quite some time

Así de maravillosos son los animales, sobre todo los perros que llevan siglos con los hombres y que nos conocen más que nosotros a ellos.

Videos like this are always wonderful. I love the way our guys are so empathetic with animals. Animals give back your love endlessly. I love the cat that chased away the dog attacking the child. That happened only a few years ago, and it was all caught on the house surveillance cameras. In another video, there's a cat who chases a black bear out of its family's yard!
(I'm catching up on watching, because I had the flu for a week earlier this month. Not covid, just regular flu. But I got way behind on all my subscribed channels!)

Dog being the first animal humans ever domesticated is an impressive creature. Being derived from wolf about 20-40 thousand years ago (we do not know for sure but the higher number is more probable, pup named by today's people Dogor was found frozen in ice old about 18000 years and genetic studies seem to indicate that it was dog already, not wild wolf).
How and why we befriended wolf? We can only speculate as we know little about people of that time (but it was indeed in deep stone age, age of bronze began only about some cca -3000 years BC). It seems friendship of a dog was a great advantage in the ice age and ever after. Wolves are dangerous but also very intelligent creatures, they live in packs and understand hierarchy. Human in this relationship is considered by dog as leader of his pack. Interesting thing about genetics of today's dogs - it seems possible that wolf was domesticated more than once, but the problematic is not yet fully understood.

The wolf started domesticating itself and humans sped up the process.

After having many kinds of dogs I love German Shepherds most of all.
I've had gentle breeds that behave well and try to please, without any special care; but Shepherds will give you everything back to you that you put into them.

Pets who are incredibly loved by their owners have no doubt their furry family members will not hesitate to get between any type of threat of danger to protect their people.I’m a dog person but have also had cats as well and even though cats seem to be aloof and a bit disinterested in their people a lot of the time they’ve surprised the hell out of me when switching into protective mode whenever they were alerted to something that might have been a danger to my family.Pets are the best!
