WATCH the newer computer animated version
I wouldn't recommend the live animated version of Lion King but I can recommend the live action Jungle Book (2016) and Mouse Hunt. Aladdin in both although the animation is much superior!
Beauty and the Beast (1991) Tarzan (1999), Pinocchio (1940), The Goonies to name a few. I haven't seen it myself but movies called UP and Zootopia.
Hey, how about The Land Before or Bambi? There are heartbreaking parental deaths in those, too
How about "Lilo and Stitch" next?
*I love when they see animated films and realize it's not just for children! Being brave or courageous isn't planned; it happens suddenly, when you are called upon to do something you are scared of doing, but doing it because others need you right then. THAT is when bravery arises.*
2:02
"A coward dies hundred times a day,
the brave meets death but once!"
This brother is spitting some gems.
And it's a perfect quote from Shakespeare, since "The Lion King" is loosely based on "Hamlet."
I'm glad you took the original animation film and not the new "cgi" version. While the images are impressive they are also still not as impactful as you'd expect.
The other one sucks so bad
Light years superior to that one
Exactly. The singing in the cgi one just doesn’t have any “oomph” and sometimes even goes off-key, and the characters aren’t expressive.
This is a classic, no one remembers that boring thing exists "Remake" that they released that looks like a copy of animal planet.
What CGI movie? There is no CGI Lion King movie in Ba Sing Se
Simba laying next to a dead mufassa is still sad to me and I'm 30 years old.
It's still sad nearly 30 years later.
Same. Being a 90s kid, I still remember this scene because this was probably the first on screen death (human or animal.) that I’ve seen in a movie that’s suppose to be aimed towards kids. At least that I can remember.
I bet you were born in 93
@@Kayoss13212I’m op’s age but I remember Mufasa’s death, Bambi’s mom (shot off camera) and Little Foot’s mom in Land Before Time got me and still do to this day! 😢
Mansoor is so sensitive. I could see his heart break when Mufasa was killed. I probably wouldn't have cried if he didn't look so upset. I'm one of those people that cries when other people cry. 😭
I love watching both of these gentlemen. ❤
They took one look at simba and their paternal instincts kicked in. Absolute legends
This movie came out within a few months of my fathering dying. He died three days before my fourth birthday.
I had no idea at the time, but this movie shaped my beliefs, this movie made me remember my father and respect his spirit. I didn’t cry at the time, but it’s impossible to watch it without being overcome with emotions for simba. I know what he’s feeling, I know what he hopes for, and I know what he fears.
I have so much respect for my father and him trying to discipline me when his body didn’t have the strength to get up. He loves on in me and I often feel shameful of the life I’ve lived. I just want to make him proud.
You are a good Son.I wish you all the best for the Future.
Theres a reason this movie made such a big impact, it wasnt just children who responded to it. Classic animated masterpiece
Seeing their eyes well up with tears for Mufasa's death reminds me that if you don't cry during that scene, you ain't human. ❤
Each time I watch the scene of Mufasa's death I get so sad, but my heart completely breaks for Simba when Scar tells him "The King is dead, and if it weren't for you, he'd still be alive. What would your Mother think?" It's such a messed up thing to say to someone, let alone a kid.
For me, it's not even Mufasa's death that's the worst part. It's hearing Simba call out for help, so small and alone and scared, but nobody comes. And then when he curls up next to his father's body in pure grief . . . major sobs.
@@pompe221 definitely!
“The coward dies a hundred times a day but the brave faces death once”
What a profoundly moving piece of wisdom two minutes in.
I haven't seen this movie in a long time so it brought out some tears, I forgot how heartbreaking and impactful it is. Not to mention seeing your reactions to Mufasa's death helped with that, too. T__T Very much looking forward to more what I consider the "real" Disney movies, there's so many more adventures to go on! :)
Hands down to Jeremy Irons for voicing one of the most iconic villains of all time I am very happy that people are watching and reacting to Disney classics and not the remakes that are nothing more than cash grabs out of nostalgia. This is a true classic, no matter how many years or generations pass, the Lion King will live on legendarily.
It doesn't matter how many times I've seen the movie, the scene where Simba finds Mufasa dead in the gorge always gets me in the heart.
I knew that my movie friends *Naveed and Mansoor* would love this movie! I had a great time as usual. 🍿🍿🍿 *Hey, just as an interesting fact: James Earl Jones (a great black American actor) played the voice of Mufasa, and he was also the same voice of Darth Vader in Star Wars.
Mufasa: You must take your place in the circle of life!
Remember who your are!
You are my son and the one true king!
Vader: Search your soul, you know it be true!
Join me and together we can rule the galaxy as father and son!
He was amazing, James Earl Jones.
1:35 How could you not smile upon hearing the first notes of the magical Circle of Life song
Masterpiece of a song
I love seeing Naveed's energy and Mansoor's emotions. They are both so much fun to watch movies with. I am still holding out hope for them getting to watch A Dog's Purpose. I can't help it--when I see animal movies, they make me think of my favorite one (I particularly love dogs!), and I really hope they watch it one day!
I love how he was moved to dance 😁@37:50
Wait until they find out that Mufasa’s voice is Darth Vader, aka James Earl Jones.
they watch dubbed movies, so they won't find out
@@bandeano3870 you’re right, I forgot about that. ☹️
@@bandeano3870True. Though I believe the voice actor for Mufasa in the dubbed version is Shah Rukh Khan, who they might recognize and be excited for 😊
This film is based on William Shakespeare's play, "Hamlet."
Which is based on an older story Saxo grammaticus if I remember correctly.
An absolute masterpiece, probably the best animated movie of all times
The way they were so invested in the movie had me smiling the whole time. Loved the reaction, gentlemen.
THANK YOU SO MUCH for showing them this!!! I'm very grateful as well that it is the original. Please never ever show them these new soulless cashgrab cgi versions.
It's beautiful to watch two men from a completely different culture than my own experiencing one of the most beautiful and influential movies of my childhood! It's refreshing to see adults who understand that animation is for all ages. I love that, no matter where you come from or what language you speak, that we can all be touched by the stories and messages movies pass on to us 🫶 I'm excited to see more of your content :)
2:05 A coward dies a hundred times a day, the brave meets death but once.
That is Profound. 👏
The joy in their faces for Simba’s victory and the ascension to pride rock was incredible. So very glad to have found this channel. Thanks for sharing the moment 🥰
Love that they got to see this. Such a wonderful classic! Hope they love it!❤
Crying time. I cry every time I watch this.
I'm glad they enjoyed it. It's beautifully animated and well written. I was obsessed with this movie when it came out. I think just about everyone cries when Mufasa dies. It's so terrible and sad. Disney really has a knack for that, especially pre-2000. 😅
I have never thought of The Lion King in terms of a Bollywood film, but watching these guys react to it, I am reminded of all the Bollywood films that have similar themes- the son returning to his rightful throne, a balance in nature, the epic fight scene at the end, friends to lovers, the silly but very supportive friends. And of course, the big showy music numbers! I am never going to unsee it now, lol.
I’m glad you’re showing them the lion king after the horror movie they need a break haha
Oh shut up, you'd think that horror was the only thing they were watching.
The commentary is so wholesome ❤
The Lion King could probably be the best movie of all time
I'm almost 40 and Lion King is still the best and my favourite movie of all time animated or not never ever gets old. Absolute masterpiece ♥️
@@totterdell I agree, it is a total masterpiece
15:08 you can see the pain in their eyes. No matter the age, the background, this moment will hit everyone the same
Now brother bear !!
@@caveatlector2671 YES! and also Coco & Up ... there are so many !! ❤️
You guys are great! It's been a joy watching the Lion King with you.☺
My dog is named after Nala from this movie... Because when I got her she was a 8 week old fuzzy puppy and she reminded me of a lion cub :)
I think the host forgot to tell them that Mufasa is voiced by James Earl Jones, the same iconic actor that voiced Darth Vader. And I know the boys would have liked that tidbit, since they have watched all the Star Wars movies.
Seen this movie in cinema when i was just 9yo and still today it gives me goosebumps from emotions, such a fantastic classic of animation.
I watched this and smiled with them like I've never seen this movie before. I was so invested in their experience and wanting them to enjoy the movie. This was a great reaction!
Also if they enjoyed this story they will probably love Balto which is another great story and loosely based on a true story.
Great reaction gentlemen. Always fun to watch a movie with you both.
fun fact Mustafa is the voice of the same actor that did Darth Vader
"Up" is also a great animated movie.
**Phenomenal reaction!** I knew they’d like this *masterpiece!* Another good Disney film I would suggest is *Tarzan* from 1999. Its music and animation are gorgeous and its emotional impact is incredible.
Movie time with my 2 favorite men ❤What a great selection and much needed considering the times we live in. We need more Kings to fight the injustice and restore peace for our future children. Naveed and Mansoor, you are great Kings in my heart. I love this channel so much!
Great reaction! It felt like I was watching it for the first time again! Simba's roar at the end is the best moment! 💙
A friend of mine once said he saw several lions laying in the shade when a few elephants came near. The lions rose up and left. I think maybe elephants are the real “kings of the jungle.” I love elephants. And I love your reactions to movies. Many blessings to all of you.
As a woman from west Baltimore who watched this as a kid when it came out in theaters & had the VHS & the DVD & the Blur-ray & now digital I LOVE this! I knew every word & to see different cultures enjoying something you treasured as a kid for its values & mesage & how it comes across in any language is amazing! Thanks for this! Have to have them watch:
Brother Bear
Brave
Emperor’s new groove
Prince of Egypt
Princess & the Frog
Aladdin
Lilo & Stich
Tangled
Must see Beauty and the Beast
Thank you for watching the real movie!
"Tempo. Timble." lol
"ice Age" Next? :D
4:12 I've seen this movie so many times, but somehow this is the first time I noticed that they were on the top of Pride Rock.
Name checking Return of the King: a true Cinephiles moment 👍🏼 lovely stuff
Them going gooey over the love song is hilarious
These village people are so sweet. ❤
The Lion King is my favorite movie of all time! Loved their reactions. I recommend The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. It's one of the few Disney sequels that I enjoy.
And the songs are better too.
In my opinion one of Disney's best songs ever.
Sisi ni Moja, We are one.
But knowing about the cutaway scenes with Nukas last words and Ziras last words makes the whole movie much darker and gives me another perspective on Nuka.
@@drigerdranzer7514 Yes. I actually prefer the deleted scene of Zira's end. It fits her character more. My favorite songs, though, are He Lives In You and Not One Of Us.
I hope they are right, that good always wins. I pray for that; the world needs it right now.
I knew they would love this movie! I loved seeing them react and have the same emotions as so mZny of us that have seen and love this movie! You need to show them the animated Beauty and the Beast movie, as well as A Bug's Life. They will love them!
I love watching with these 2 amazing men.
Oh boys, I love you for your feelings and your comments throughout the movie. I enjoyed watching it with you 💚
So glad you liked this movie! You should also check out the second one. It is an amazing Disney sequel.
The Lion King 2 1/2 is better and pretty funny.
@@dan_hitchman007 1 1/2 is amazing!
Simbas Pride celebrated 25 years yesterday.
I wish the movie would be re-released with the two important cutscenes included, Nukas REAL last words and Ziras last words.
Both were cut out because Disney thought it would be too dark to show for kids back then.
what were Nuka's real last words?
@@2apocalypsex “I'm sorry mother, I tried.
👉 Well... I guess I finally got your attention, didn't I... didn't I..?”👈
The last two words almost inaudible with his last dying breath.
All since Kovu became the chosen one he was neglected and just wanted his mothers love and attention.
First when it was too late she realized it.
If you're going to show them more animated movies, I'd suggest "Snow White" (1937) and "Fantasia" (1940) for their importance in the history of feature-length animated films.
Pls show them Disneys Aladdin (the cartoon), my favorit. ^^
Good choice!
@@markmuller7962 The guy that designed Jafar also did Scar. :)
@@00Kuja00 Wait was Jafar the villain or the Genie? I can't remember 😅
@@markmuller7962 Jafar ofcourse.
@@00Kuja00 The animator's name is Andreas Deja was the supervising animator for Jafar and Scar Quite a talent
I definitely recommend you Prince of Egypt if you loved this one. You reacted a while ago to Through Heaven's Eyes. By the way, both that song and the Lion King movie were a great reaction! :)
I don’t think Muslims would appreciate a Jewish movie
Yesterday it was the 25th anniversary of The Lion King 2 Simbas Pride where we meet Simbas and Nalas daughter Kiara.
I recommend watching that one too.
It's more of a Romeo and Juliet story while this movie was more inspired by Shakespeare's Hamlet.
I have never seen such beautiful and wonderful classic movies 🍿 before and it makes my heart interesting 🧐 too as because of its plot twist in a way I can’t quite understand why people don’t see them in the movie or the show itself.
HAKUNA MATATA!!!
Absolutely loved this. 37:22 Music for TLK will always bring something out of the audience.
Hakuna Matata!! 😊
It's based on the story of Shakespeare's Hamlet. Disney just did it with lions. So glad you enjoyed it.
This movie, along with The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast (my favorite Disney movie) are the Crown Jewels of the Disney Renaissance ❤
It's fun to watch others see classic movies for the first time. I wish I could erase my memory and experience The Lion King for the first time again!
I love your reactions gentleman and your beautiful views on life thank you so much for your reactions
oh yes what a great choice, this will be fun to watch with you guys
Good‘ol Shakespeare. Never fails.
They are so expressive with their emotions, these are so fun to watch. Every time they get emotional it makes me cry along with them ❤
I would love to watch this movie for the very first time again
Doesn’t matter how old I get, I’ll always cry at the scene where Mufasa dies
I think 'The Lion King' has many traits from the William Shakespeare play of 'Hamlet'; the plot of a lowly prince attempting to exact revenge against his uncle for the murder of his father the king in order to seize the throne for himself. Hamlet is considered among the "most powerful and influential tragedies in the English language", with a story capable of "seemingly endless retelling and adaptation by others."
It is SO COOL to see something this beautiful unite people all over the world!! I love how happy all the commenters are to share this experience!! What an amazing thing ...
PLEASE react to some more PERFECT ANIMATION :
Spirit stallion of the cimmaron
Prince of Egypt
Treasure planet ❤
I'm surprised that they did not recognize the voice of the father, MUFASA...
its James Earl Jones, the voice of DARTH VADER.
You should continue with Toy Story 2
Please show them Halloween (1978 or 2007 version is ok)
No just show them the OG 1978, let's just show them good movies.
This gonna be good!
Is there any movie more universal than this one? That trancends all cultural barriers more easily?
29:30 - Thanks, you got my guinea pigs riled up.
Quality content right here. Seriously.
I remember like really ugly crying when Mufasa died and poor little Simba saying DAD? 🥺 and here I go again.....
Villagers react to the 90s trauma full package.
They would love the movie 'Ferngully' The last rainforest 😊
2:18 Mufasa and Sarabi: “(Individually and nonverbally to Simba) I’m *SO* proud of you”
They should see some of those clips of dogs reacting to Mufasa's death scene..
awwww what a cute choice ! excited :D
They should see more classic old-school animated feature films.
My favourite Disney film ever! So glad you watched and enjoyed. Your reaction was heart warming and amusing. 👍🏻😊
Mufasa sound familiar? Thats the voice of Darth Vader.
I loved this movie growing up. I’m glad they got to enjoy it as well!
This was a great reaction! Salam, Naveed and Mansoor! I hope you will react to the live action Lion King, as well. I think you will love it.
Would love their reaction to The Jungle Book
