Dodge roll isn’t garbage and adp is absolutely dogshit. You need 99 adp just to get a big enough change to matter. It’s main use isn’t even for rolling, it’s to increase animation speeds for estus use. Edit: the people below me have no idea what they’re talking about. 1.) adp gives you almost no s. At 99 adp you receive only 0.5333 seconds extra I frames. That’s half a second with 99. Maxed out stat. Unless you want to grind for hours early just to have 0.5 seconds extra in s then don’t waste any time whatsoever on that pathetic bonus. If you’re late game then you clearly don’t need the adp if you made it that far. 2.) adp’s main purpose is to increase animation speeds for estus, lifegems and Devine blessings. It’s I frame bonuses are pathetically small for this reason. 3.) ds2’s roll has always been the same as Ds3’s roll. Ds3’s I frames trigger near the end of the roll, so rolling early works better than rolling late. In ds2, i frames trigger at the beginning. Meaning you need to delay your roll. Most people in the souks community always roll early, nearly everyone I see online rolls early in ds2. That’s why they think the rolling is bad in ds2 but not 3. No, 2 just requires actually timing your roll. Which most people are not used to. 4.) adp reaches its soft cap at 39, so what the fuck are you talking about 20 adp for.
@@zzodysseuszzno? And after reaching 20 it doesn't increase agl alot so that 99 is an exaggeration And wdym not meant for rolls it increases ur I frames and by alot like reaching about 30 gives us as much i frames as ds3 do

DS2 is my favorite of the series because of the depth the game has, it struck a balance between tedium and intriguing exploration that hasn't really been done in any of the others. Also powerstancing, that just rules.

You're the best, man. Love the content, it's always so consistent. I like DS2 alot myself, but only in my second playthrough. I tried to get rid of all the preconceived notions and bad parts and to focus on my experience, and it was really good. Not the best, but still good, when you aren't constantly complaining. Really happy I did the second playthrough.
Dark Souls 2 is my favorite of all the Souls games due to the world, lore, aesthetics, Emerald Herald, and the fact all Sorceries are viable to some degree unlike all the others games where only a few are viable. But, i do think the one bad thing in Dark Souls 2 that ruins it just slightly is the forced Giant Lord grind in order to survive the DLC, not beat, not conquer, not overcome, but survive and yet despite that i'd still give it a 10/10.
Would have love to see more details about Dark Souls 2 in specific, especially compared to the other Dark Souls, instead of surface-level explanation. We need to really show why Best Souls 2 gets it's name from.
Played first the third game, but when I played DS2 over the years the only game that stays installed all the time is DS2. Bell covenant and Rat king covenant are too much fun. Specially when i discovered that: 1. Bell keeper covenant gives you upgrade materials every time you kill people and you can get slabs 2. I could instant reset the rat King covenant and force into my woorld the same poor souls so they could enjoy my traps and backstab spots with no time in between invasions.
Ds2 is my first souls game, at first i was confused where to go and what to do until I watched fightingcowboy's walkthrough. I got better at playing the game, it's challenging and imo it teaches you self control and most of all after all the chaos and fighting going back to Majula is so refreshing, so peaceful.
Personally my favorite is Dark Souls 1 despite its issues. I love the interconnected world design and how being able to fast travel is earned. This really makes that first playthrough so special and it’s had a lasting impact on what I want in a SoulsBorne game.
I never understood the complaint that Scholar ramped up the difficulty by placing lots of enemies everywhere, as it nerfed a lot of ganks and runbacks. Vanilla had way more guaranteed ganks. Vanilla already had more ganks in Forest of Fallen Giants and continued to do so throughout the whole game. In Scholar you also have way more ways to deal with ganks, like spiders being afraid of the torch, the invisible enemies in the fog reacting to sound, the duel mechanic in Dragon Shrine or more explosive barrels. Vanilla also had a lot more enemies camping directly at fog gates so a lot of runbacks are way less ganky in Scholar. Runbacks like Flexile Sentry, Ruin Sentinels, Freya, Ancient Dragon, Velstadt, etc are much easier in Scholar. Dragon Shrine turned from one of the most frustrating areas in Vanilla to one of the most beloved in Scholar.
the only game in the series that dared to do something different, many things are even still borrowed from ds2 and are present in the games that came after it, too bad the game was in development hell and it came out half assed, still my favorite pvp souls game by far
Good video. Just a quick note. Absolutely do not play deprived unless you want a challenge run. They're the worst class for all builds because of how the game uses collected souls to determine who to match you with for multiplayer (you'll be 8ish levels lower in early game, and 4ish levels lower in the mid game), and any build you go for you'll have wasted points in stat distribution. If you don't know what character build you want and plan to respec after trying out things, pick explorer instead. They have only 1 point wasted for sorc or clerics compared to starting as that class. Fine stat distribution for Hex builds. Depraved, on the other hand, wastes 2 points for either cleric or sorc, it's underleveled for match making since it starts at Clevel 1 and the game only cares about collected souls. It's objectively bad and the hardest to start with, intentionally designed to be bad for the extra challenge.
If I may, I would like to disagree, sure its the hardest start but the payoff is more than worth it, its the best class for min maxing points as you have 6 in all stats from the start if i remember right, 1 quick run to Heide to cheese Dragon Rider to "take a swim" and you can fix your stats for any decent early game weapon. Its also quite optimal for all base game boss speedrun. (or i am just too masochistic lol)
@@Askaria-Askanurn Explorer is better for that. Give it a look. Explorer can shift to any build and at most be 1 stat behind a build where you pick a specific class for the build (specifically Cleric or Sorcerer). As mentioned above, it's not even optimal if you ignore multiplayer. I guess it works for Mundane, since you want an even stat spread for that, but literally all starting classes work for Mundane and can get there easier since they start out with more stats.
I don't mind Dark Souls 2 as is; PVP was pretty fun to be a part of (I prefer it over DaS 1 and 3's, especially running a lightning faith build using a maxed out thorned greatsword which in turn had lightning special attacks. When compared to the other titles it's seen as the weakest, which isn't surprising since it was developed by From's B-team and Miyazaki (the series creator) had little involvement as he was working on Bloodborne at the time. For what it is, Dark Souls 2 is fun for what it is, though I personally detest the soul memory that was included, even though there's a ring that prevents earning souls, it was more of a band aid patch to prevent griefing newer players. That was eventually solved in 3 and included in Elden Ring as well. Edit: Mild mannered Pate is voice by Peter Serafinowicz, who also portrayed Darth Maul from Phantom Menace (specifically the voice) and is a big Dark Souls fan.
I also have Dark Souls 2 as my personal favourite in the series. For a majority of reasons that all boil down to three things. It varied from the main feel of Dark Souls, like it doesn't feel like a Dark Souls 1 or Dark Souls 3 which almost feel like twins that copied each others homework... Another is that it had the most re-playability with different NG+ mechanics and a variety of combat styles and spell categories that all felt unique and powerful. Then lastly it has the best online, co-op and PvP system in the series which still holds true to this day. Dedicated Covenants for PvP, an arena for good and evil PvPers. A Covenant for people who likes to torture and trap others, breaking their armour and weapons and watching as they ran away from rats and even a Covenant that was basically King of the Hill with the Bellkeepers and having to defend the bell from hosts who's world you would invade into. Even the pure PvE guys got some Covenants to enjoy with Champions and Pilgrams both being purely PvE and providing useful tools for PvE players. Like if I could take one thing from any Souls game and put it into the next release in the series I would take what Dark Souls 2 did with Covenants and PvP. That was a pure masterclass on how to do them. I think my love for the game also falls back on the fact that I got into Dark Souls 1 late, so Dark Souls 2 was my first on release souls game I played and I got to play through all it's patches and DLC releases and SotFS edition. I got really good at PvE and PvP during that time and across both versions I have over 5000 hours now. So safe to say no other game has held my attention that long. I still remember being one of the first people in my region to get a level 3 aura for Brotherhood of Blood and being able to post about it on the Wiki and have people message me asking how I was glowing like that lol. Dark Souls 3 I had a similar experience but honestly the game failed to hold my attention after the DLC like Dark Souls 2 did, even though I think I put 1000 hours into PvP in 3 and was just as good then too. Dark Souls 2 remains unique and fun, the unfair challenging aspect is part of that fun btw, Scholar isn't bad, it's just an opinion on how unfair you enjoy your games.
I have thought about my favorite souls game for a long time and I would have to say 3 solely because of the mods. base 3 is ok and i genuinely don't like any of the dlcs, but the convergence and the other 2 mods like it are so incredible that I can say 3 ends up being at the top.

Based Broleg unexpectedly hitting us with pure kino. Man, thank you for this video, it gave me strong nostalgia feels, like dark souls 2 truly is the best souls game ever. I remember when I first played it at university during first year with my lads, it was the funniest shit ever, but most importantly - no matter how many flaws the game has, it was still a great and enjoyable experience. Truly the game of all time.
I played only Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition and Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin (it's actually just vanilla + DLC). All I have is an xbox 360 so that's all I can play. But so far Dark Souls 2 is my favourite. Only thing I miss is how connected DS1 is.
My favorite Souls game has got to be Dark Souls 1. I would grave lord the painted world, use the disguise spell, and sit in an obscure part of the map disguised as a tree/bush among trees and bushes. My goal? To have someone fail to find me, leave, and be stuck with their world permanently gravelorded. I succeeded a couple of times.
I’m well aware, but vast majority of players don’t even think about it, even though AGL and poise are incredible meaningful in DS2, most of the times new players can beat the game twice without even considering it
@@Br0leg You can beat it without putting any points into AGL, but once you start putting some is when you realize why you were dying to a lot of the "bullshit, I rolled!" moments. AGL not being explained almost at all is why so many new players ended up turtling behind a shield instead of trying to roll attacks, since every time they tried they got hit due to the abysmal base i-frames.

Breeding farms goes hard best Souls Game, recommend
i was really hoping the important control changes would be to use a controller lmao
God dammit... watching this video while waiting out my crewlock in WT.
Nothing quite like progressively losing your sanity during Lud and Zallen run back.
I always loved the chocolate twinkie with vanilla filling
Finally, a correct opinion on the internet
As someone who has been playing through this game recently I must say it is a pretty neat pain inflicted 10/10 would die another five hundred times
Only correct order is
DS3>DS2>DS1>DS>ER
*ELF* *BREEDING* *SIMULATOR* I see you br0leg
My favorite Dark Souls game would be Syphon Filter, and I think you should play it too. It's a very good and polished game, I swear!
It’s so good to find fans of Dark Souls II!
Thank you, man!
Pate is officially my new favorite npc
My man just did MC Ride in character creation
Dark Souls 2 remains unique and fun, the unfair challenging aspect is part of that fun btw, Scholar isn't bad, it's just an opinion on how unfair you enjoy your games.
freaking vampire rapping death grips
Finally my fav niche micro-celebrity likes something I like!!!
i like elden bling because uhhh erm graphics, and I get to make handsome squidward in the character creator.
The last guy who did these kind of thumbnails stopped doing this once he hit gold. That's the UA-cam life alright.
I have thought about my favorite souls game for a long time and I would have to say 3 solely because of the mods. base 3 is ok and i genuinely don't like any of the dlcs, but the convergence and the other 2 mods like it are so incredible that I can say 3 ends up being at the top.
But.. the gael fight, man! It's the coolest shit. You can't hate that!
@@vodagoI do. Flashing animations with no substance especially when the boss ends up being exactly the same as every other boss in the game without those flashy animations; isn’t enough to make the boss good
I started my souls journey from sekiro made my way to dark souls 1 then ds3 ,ds2 now elden ring and bloodborne it was a beautiful journey and i love all the games. Each game gives a unique experience unlike any other game
A Cruelty Squad review would be legendary.
Goated vid. Do the rest of the souls games!
Not mentioning the ascetics seems like an oversight.
Br0leg please I’m losing it. These thumbnails are tweaking my twonk on the side of a plonk.
is a good day when Br0leg uploads a vid
I don't have a favorite souls game. I like them all :).
Demon souls: a little dated, but still fun to go back on
Dark souls: scared the living shit out of me as a kid
Dark souls 2: my actual introduction to the souls series so i have a bit of nostalgia for the game.
Dark souls 3: crushed my balls
Seikrio: crushed my balls
Blood born: *Gave me PTSD*
Elden ring: renlighten my love for the souls games :)
Bonus
Armored core series: "LETS FUCKIN GOOOOOOOOOOOOO" *GUNS BLAZING*
Anyways my favorite dark souls game is a little weird you’ve probably never heard of it, it’s Skylanders Spyro’s adventure that kaos boss fight was insanely hard for younger me
I played through this one recently.... as sorcerer
great guide to my next dark souls game just finished my first dark souls remastered yesterday spent about 100 hours mostly because of blighttown and fall dmg anyways barely beaten all 26 bosses including DLC "fun" game when you're OP and yk what ur doin I had like 4 diff boss weapons I cheesed most of them because I can. Used some "strategies" to maximize time would play again.
Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the first sin really setting the standard of good difficulty.
Dont forget about installing lighting mod for ds2 which is safe to use it online. Its totally game changer
NGL the Skittles Tropical blue (pineapple passionfruit) one goes hard af
Dark Souls 3 Review when?
also awsome vid might play ds2 now :)
Hermanopierna talking about the best ds ever made!?
You are truly the bearer of the curse 💋
Also the dlc are very nice and other thing i loved the most was how the game looks.
Besitos 🥰
I need to play DS2 again.
The only thing I don't like about ds2 is that some npc invaders has a chance to destroy your gear.
Good review
Can you do elf breeding farm next?
yesterday, after 37 hours, i finished dark souls 1, i'll buy the other souls games whenever they're on sale and maybe do a ng+ run while waiting for the sales
Thank you bro(leg), the delay was holding back the game for me. Cheers, bro(ther)
5:40 I'M NOT CRAZY
I feel like if I hadn’t started with DS2, I would’ve gotten into Souls-like’s way earlier.
This is brilliant craftsmanship
The waifu end is pure gold well done
Great video 👌 about to start ds2 scholar of the first sin this weekend for the first time after putting it off forever 😎
just started playing ds2 as my first from software game ever and i actually love it
This is a masterpiece man i need MOREEE!!
And its even dark souls 2 better xd
I played only Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition and Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin (it's actually just vanilla + DLC). All I have is an xbox 360 so that's all I can play. But so far Dark Souls 2 is my favourite. Only thing I miss is how connected DS1 is.
I feel like you’ll love blood borne oleg.
8:44 "Most players only care about these LOL"
Nobody tell him about AGL and how it relates to rolling actually having i-frames.
