- There are 3 signs to look out for before people quit:
1. Quitting emotionally - they feel indifferent and are disengaged
2. Quitting logically - they no longer offer insights or suggestions in discussions
3. Quitting physically - they throw in their resignation
It's important for leaders to catch the signs in these 3 different levels of quitting before it escalates.
Watch to find out how to look out for signs of your people quitting.

Yup, you just hit the nail on the head! I went through the 3 stages including submitted my resignation. Went from top performer exceeding performance expectation to doing the bare minimum just punching the clock for my next paycheque. Sad, really. This resulted from a toxic office which played favorites during promotions and did not recognize good work so what's the point in doing a good job when a mediocre job gets you the same results.
Same experience here. Left job due to gender-based promotions (CEO wanted 80% of promotions given to one specific gender ignoring competency for the position). Needless to say that many of the other gender resigned in the next 2-3 years with lots of knowledge lost. Management there still doesn't care and keeps this ball rolling. Just glad I left!
Playing favourites is a sure-fire way of killing the entire team's vibe. Except of course the teacher's pet.
Glad to hear you have left. Find the soil that makes you blossom.
Ouch. That's a shitty situation you're in. Thanks for sharing.
For me was the excesive micromanagement, that feeling like they want to kknow what you do every minute of the day was just stressing
It's amazing how a toxic workplace that sabotages your efforts can break even the most dedicated and hard working employee (myself). I've been reduced to being a mercenary who only cares about getting paid but has no real loyalty to the organization. On step 2.
Wow, you are so right. I’m at level 2 and behind the scenes, I’m planning and strategizing.
Unfortunately there are a lot of 'leaders' who are just in a leader position formally. They lack leadership skills. My 'leader' doesn't see that I don't care anymore if they ignore my reasoned suggestions or if they are pointing out that 1 mistake for the tenth time etc. He/she hasn't got the skills to see it coming. Very sad.
👍 good video…
Living in the UK 🇬🇧,
I’m through level 1,
Day by day, week by week I’m getting deeper into level 2
I’ve only a few years left until retirement, so the only thing stopping me hitting level 3, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel, just biding my time
I'm currently at level 2 at my current job. Waiting to hear back on another opportunity I'm exploring to hit level 3.
I've heard it said people usually don't quit jobs, the quit bosses. Very true in my case, although my job has became a degraded shell of what it used to be, so there is that....
I didn't realise that i was in this loop until i saw your video. I do think i am on the second level, and i was planning forward as well. I hope everything goes well and stop feeling this negative soon, probably in a better place.
2 year old vid and you're now getting traffic. must be a sign of the market. xD
When your company changes strategies in order to overwork you. It is time to change a different job due to high stress. You can't enjoy going to work anymore.
I quit my job because of my toxic ex-boss. She was upset I had signed up for a one-person shift. I'll admit, I am better with a helping hand and guide, but come on, that's no excuse for being insensitive. Her lower-ranking colleague is responsible for organizing who works which shifts on the schedule, and my boss scolded him for not noticing I had signed up for a one-person shift. When she asked him if she thought I could do the shift, I answered for him with a firm "yes," because I felt belittled by her. She said she didn't think so, was all "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen" (something like, that, so I'm not perfectly quoting her), and she told me I need someone there to give me instructions and guide me." So I left.
By the way, I can see why she manages weddings and receptions.
So... Employers want us in level one or two all the time, right? That's not going to give a corporation any decent workers.. but that's what I see
Good employers want their employees to be happy and productive.
Bad employers don't really care. Unless they're having a serious labour crisis - they're in a situation where every missing worker is lost profit - then they suddenly overcompensate desperately. No raises or promotions, though, unless they need new scapegoats.
I can confirm that it happened to me just the way you described it in the video.
Been in stage 2, nearing the end of stage 2 and slowly making my way to stage 3.
I always quit on first level :-)
Thanks for the subtitles.
Welcome! Didn't know it was so important. Guess many of us watch in silent?
They aren't needed as far as I'm concerned. Easy to understand
I'm on level 2 taking steps to get to level 3
I seem to live at the logic part. How can I get better?
You are just fine where you are.
So true
no dont leave us ;-;
If a leader notices someone at level 1 or 2, what should that leader do?
Have a discussion with them, let them know that you've notice that they're slipping, have a discussion with their supervisor if you're not the one...sometimes its about pay, their bills are adding up and the salary isnt enough. If theyre a good employee you should recognize their hard work and try to increase their pay, if not let them walk.
i already quit as employer owe me 200k now in pay, why work for no pay?
When i quit i dont quit in levels, because i want to always leave a good Impression, why? Because when Other high Performers also quit they will remember You and give You great job opportunities later. Thats actually how i got my current job
Okay, golden boy.
@@notabannedaccount8362 can't handle the truth? first step is acceptance :)
Sss right
Thanks. Better to fire them before they quit.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
And pay unemployment? Yes please!!!
Why do people always quit jobs with high salaries when I want that money?
Stress, high-competitivenes and damn near sabotage at times. The closer you are at the top of the pyramid the more cut-throat it is. Because they are are always looking to climb the ladder and don't care if they kick you down. Anyone with a conscience will not survive long.
