Most companies don't really care of you leave, you'll be replaced very quickly and forgotten about! Always remember that and never be loyal to one company, because they are not loyal to you. Also, I highly doubt many managers or leaders are watching this... it's probably the people that are planning to leave!
A long time ago, companies had a sense of loyalty to good employees. My dad worked for GE for over 35 years, then he retired. Now people work for a company for a few years, get laid off, or downsized, find a new job, rinse and repeat. When you retire, IF you retire, you might have over a dozen companies on your resume. In my dad's day, if you worked hard and did a good job, the company would keep you on. Now they don't give a $hit.
@@davidho2977 People prioritize profit over their people and many times if backfires. People dont walk out/ strike/ or unionize when they feel valued and taken care of by their employers.
I am a Lead Engineer but with a Senior salary, I was refused to receive a raise now I am living and they are saying I am not loyal person and not reliable.
@ingeniero1214 They are not loyal to you either. I've been loyal to my company for over 5 years and I got nothing in return. I will be leaving soon. Be loyal to yourself and your wallet!
If people are leaving or closing up to you - you are probably the cause. Also, in most cases managers are NOT leaders, your entire job is to squeeze as much work out of people for least pay possible. Yes, I deliberately used two words separately - managers and People.
Pretty Short - You are right Managers behaviors are often the issue. 70% of an employees experience at work is correlated with their relationships to their manager and what they do/dont do makes all the difference. Sadly most people are promoted to manage with out any training or experience. And then are ask to produce certain results with out being giving the tools or guidance to connect with their people. And then their people have the experience you are talking about.
There are 3 distinct types of supervisory positions: Boss Manager Leader Bosses boss /people/ around. Managers manage /employees/. Leaders lead /teams/. Remember that no one ever quit a JOB - they have only ever quit MANAGEMENT. A team is only as good as its weakest link and if your management is the weakest link than you are already doomed.
High school job experience. I was washing dishes on a Sunday morning when coupons had been put in the Sunday paper. We got slammed and then the manager walked in and gave me 2 new guys to train. Through Herculean effort I gave them rudimentary training, washed the dishes and ran them out to the floor, and did all my food prep work. I was supposed to be trained in the kitchen that afternoon but it never happened. The next week I remarked how hard I had to work that shift to an assistant manager. He laughed at me and belittled my performance. I found a scrap of paper and a pen, wrote out a 2-week notice and slipped it under the manager's door. My next shift I got told by the manager she didn't want to lose me, but that was too little too late. My story isn't unique. People who aren't appreciated we quit.
Summed up as the employee becoming withdrawn and no longer feeling it's worth the effort engaging with the employer and/or colleagues. I know that feeling and it's usually just before quiting.
Here's a story: One of my co-workers had worked there for over 40 years. He took all his personal belongings home, then went on a long vacation. When his vacation was over, he went to the company headquarters and turned in his resignation/retirement. Headquarters informed our manager that he had quit/retired.
This is what I did and I was 24. Planned a two week vacation, quietly took my stuff home. gave my two week notice, went on the vacation and came back for one day 👍🏻
I work in the manufacturing industry and have been for 16 years. The current management team i work for has asked for suggestions to cut cost, process improvements, quality control improvements. I've given many and have been told by my direct supervisor that my suggestions are stupid and I'm retarded for even suggesting them, I've been belittled by other managers for the similar reasons. Then 3-4 months down the road the management comes out with these great ideas to improve their processes, and quality control and they're the same exact suggestions I had made months prior and was insulted for them. That's the moment i mentally check out and stopped trying to improve my productivity and given suggestions. I've worked at this company for almost 3 years, I put my two weeks notice in last week and the management team was shocked that I'm leaving.
That is horrible! And it is clear why you left. No one should be belittled or made to feel like who they are or what they contribute is not valued. I hope this new role is better for you!
If a supervisor told me that he would go home in an ambulance. This could explain why I have never had that experience, the people are stupid, but they aren't crazy.
Sharing ideas? I learned to stop sharing ideas when I realized no one in management wanted to hear them, let alone consider implementing them. If you weren't in management, no one wants to hear anything from you, just do your shift and be quiet. Large organizations like hospitals are where ideas go to immediately die.
I am sorry to hear about your experience Mark. Few things are worse than feeling like no one values your idea, especially when they would probably make a huge difference for the Hospital. There are great Hospitals Leaders out there who care, who listen, and who want to provide the best for the people and patients they serve. I have worked with many of them. I hope you find one or, better yet, become one of them!
I think large corporations have a tendency to reward good news and punish bad. That leads to a culture of "no bad news up the ladder" and the people that see the problem developing might share what they are seeing with their immediate supervisor and it often ends there. The supervisor doesn't want to appear as though they are trying to rock the boat or have a team full of complainers so it doesn't go up.
I can attest to this. I am a Registered nurse, an “outstanding clinician, a rare find” “patient’s feedback are always about how great on a human and nurse Dan is”….management jargon…so, I get more work and complicated cases, I find myself training other RNs, provide solutions rather than filing the fire, etc etc. I still perform over the expectations. Why? I can’t figure that out. Do I get compensated fairly? Absolutely not. Unfortunately, I’ve disengaged. I no longer provide feedback nor solutions during meetings. “Sure, whatever you say”…I am burned out. Now, you want my input? You need a problem solver? Pay up. Otherwise, hit the toilet.
I actually am in management and I don't share ideas for the same reason. I'm used to being one of, if not the absolute youngest person on the management team... Because of this, I get dismissed a lot when it comes to things that I bring up to all of these "highly experienced" much older "professionals". Now, I just let shit fall apart and wait for opportunities to tell them PROFESSIONALLY that I told them so. 🙄😒
At this stage, the leader has already done a poor job. The reasons the team members are unhappy are usually very obvious. Solve the problems, or accept that the employees will leave.
100% sadly many times managers are clueless to how their actions( or lack there of) or behaviors land with people. And sadly many people have been promoted with out any training or guidance to lead.
If you had to observe any of these signs to begin with then yes, you are the problem and by the time you notice it's really too late. Your employee already checked out and is just biding time now.
What I find in my work is often leaders think they are doing a good job leading because good employees who work hard are not complaining. As a result they neglect to check in and when they do small problems turninto bigger ones and people leave @@BigDaddyJinx
@@beyondthankyou I'd have to offer that a good employee, or a series of good employees as you have described doesn't necessarily translate into a good TEAM. It's like I told my own management...you can have a group of 12 EMPLOYEES and that doesn't make them a TEAM.
I watched this to see if I was exhibiting any of the signs - you nailed it. I'm so ready to quit I can taste it. I'm only hanging in there now waiting for my end of year bonus...unfortunately the economy is so garbage now that I'm worried I may be stuck, but after bonus I am going full-throttle on the job search. Now I need to try to hide the signs, want to keep my cards close to my chest because, frankly, I want it to be a surprise. I busted my rear in a period of very high growth when there was a lot of chaos and I had almost no resources, but still got the job done with flying colors. 5 years of reviews, nothing lower than a 4, and many 5 ratings (out of 5) which are very hard to come by. My company has taken a hard left turn, jamming "ESG" and "DEI" down our throats almost constantly, merit is out the window and all that matters now is checking the right boxes. I hope they rot.
@mister_garibaldi. I made the video originally to try an get manager to spot the signs and shift behavior but it seems more people watch to do what your saying. I am curious what would have to happen to shift your experience at work?
my boss was so st*p*d she didnt see my sign, i never into work like i used to, im disengaging, i stop making jokes, i stop sharing things in the group chat, i always skip the work event or invitation, and now i already left, good bye
What it basically comes down to is that the employer really doesn't care about anybody these days. All they care about is the bottom dollars. You are just a number to pay every week. No employees are valued for anything these days it's just your salary and how much can they get out of this number. You are consider expendable and replaced quickly by someone who knows less and is willing to work for less money. It's not quality it's quantity these days. Plain and simple.
@@leanit5756 Not really , I ran a small 2 man shop for my boss for 20 years. I asked for a few more dollars since cost of living was going up. He said can't afford it. In the mean time he's buying boats cars condos and I'm struggling to pay my mortgage to make ends meet driving a 20 yr old car. I told him I can't afford to live on my income He said tighten my belt and stop spending so much. The local grocery checker was making more than me and she was still in high school .lol .He said go look for a part time job to make some extra cash. I gave him my 2 week notice and he said today is your last day pack your toolbox and get out. Nothing like job security. He went bankrupt within a yr once I was gone. Do I regret leaving. NOPE NOT 1 SINGLE DAY.. Best thing I ever did . Got a very similar position for twice what I was paid before and get free lunch every day and ontop of that the boss bought a new company car and I would up with a free 3 yr old car that he gave me for being a great employee. I had only been there 2 months at the time. Still there and love my job. Got really lucky after many terrible ones for years.
It is sad many organization don’t get they if you just treated your people like your customers then you would have the people you need to serve your customers
I was looking for another job because as I licensed business manager with years of experience, I should not have had to go to the food bank to eat. I don’t think anyone noticed but I just slowly started taking my personal items home. So when I found another job and gave noticed, I finished all the budgets and trained the guy to take my place. I knew that I would still have to do budgets on the new job. But I always leave a place much better than it was.
I would also like to add all of a sudden calling out a lot. When I self reflected; I realized that this is my go to. I would call out a lot before I just quit.
Hi Christopher, Thanks for sharing this information. I waited long enough to start my social security that I could get out of paying the "penalty" if I kept working. If the people I've worked for over the last 32 years were half as sensitive to their employees needs as what you describe I would be continuing to work instead of hanging it up. Three words, toxic work environment. Didn't used to be like this. On the bright side, at least they've given me a set of reasons to enjoy retirement more. Thanks again, blessings.
Thanks Glenn sorry to hear you spent so many years in an environment that was toxic. My goal is no one spends one day in a place where they feel like who they are and what they do is not valued
@@beyondthankyou Thanks again Christopher, but to give you a proper answer would take too long. Needless to say I've acquired some bitterness along the way and I would rather focus on the time I will have after my planned retirement date, maybe sooner where I can have the time to work on healing and moving on. Your video gives me hope that maybe there are still some places where the younger generations will have a decent place to work.
My last job an employee kept taking every other Sat. off I covered him for 6 months the last one I covered was a week before the 4th well the spineless boss gave him the entire 4th weekend off. That rubbed me the wrong way so I quit covering as it wasn't going to get any better. So the spineless boss thought he would force me to take the next Saturday he wanted off I quit on the spot.
I was thinking of quitting this summer 🤔and why I just don't fit in plus I got hardly no hours why I didn't know.. I think thay don't like me.. go jets go... I'm a ticket scanner at the area...
Quiet quitting is a good thing. One thing I have discovered about every job I have ever had, the only thing hard work gets you is more hard work. I do what is required to perform my job duty, nothing more.
Thinking about the last couple times I left a company, yeah, that's a big part of the visible symptoms. The trouble is by the time symptoms are visible it's almost too late. In my case the first company was one I had been at for 13+ years and for all but the last 18 months I loved the place (some key execs left, the people that replaced them did not understand or care for the business). But by the time I started to "check out" and show any of these symptoms I had already pretty much decided to leave when the time was right. And about 6 months later I did.
Had a supervisor dip his finger in a small puddle and then quickly removed his finger from the water. He said, we can replace you faster than than the hole in the water refilled itself. I'm kinda slow but I knew most ppl would call that a "clue". If there are any loyalty in employees, I don't see them anymore.
I have 2 of the three... my co worker has the third symptom... always in the bathroom, constantly telling me they want to quit, they have for 2 jobs, and apparently applied for them, but the job was taken down. I deal with this for 40 hours straight, and my manager just tells me to stay positive
I don't think it will get to that point for me, but who knows? My boss is my one and only mine trap at work. My boss was upset I had signed up for a one-person shift. I'll admit I'm kind of a slow learner and do much better with a helping hand and guide, but come on, that's no excuse for being insensitive. One of our student leader's responsibilities is organizing who works which shifts on the schedule, and my boss scolded him for not noticing I had signed up for a one-person shift. When she asked him if she thought I could do the shift, I answered for him with a firm "yes," because I felt belittled by her. She said she didn't think so, was all _"I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that, I don't know how much clearer I can get for you to listen"_ (something like that, so I'm not perfectly quoting her), and she told me I need someone there to give me instructions and guide me. I regretfully didn't stand up for myself, because I was intimidated. Well, now I harbor a huge amount of resentment toward her, and I pretty much don't care about her anymore. Of course, I can't quit just because of her, because the job itself is actually beneficial. I just wish she didn't work there anymore.
Thanks for sharing John and I am sorry you have had this experience. I see you took on a challenge to work on your own and hearing that your boss did not feel you could do it was demotivating, and hurtful to you. Sadly leaders often forget that instead of just reacting, they took the tme to talk with the person, talk though concerns they may have found a better way to navigate this in a way where you build your confidence, you develop your skills, they have anther employee that wants to do great work! Conversations matter!
@@beyondthankyou Well, it's been months since, _BUT_ I signed up for a one-person shift to get the hours. A coworker's name is suddenly on it too. _IF_ my boss confronts me, which response is better? "My family always taught me to be self-confident and believe in my abilities," or my confusion on how its fine when our newer workers have a one-person shift (as indicated on the work schedule) and it's problematic when _I_ do, as I've been working here for four years?
Thank you very much for your video. I was criticized over a decade ago for my doing my morning rounds by my boss's boss. I was not yet a formal people manager but checked in with team members and others who were on the same initiatives that I was...while also respecting if they seemed to be busy and shouldn't be interrupted. He felt it was a waste of my time. It wasn't. Surprised at that comment from him but I expect he may have felt that because I was "just" an individual contributor that it was a waste of time for me to do so. I believe that if you check-in almost daily, and have formal short meetings once or twice a week, that sets up an environment more conducive to slipping in one of these questions...or more without as much awkwardness. Just make it a habit.
I don't know what planet you're living on but i have never met an employer that gave a dam about there employees, There favorite saying was "We have an open door policy if you don't like the conditions theirs the door" There idea was young people on start up wagers have fresh ideas over older more experienced people!🤦♂
Sadly, many people have your experience. I have worked with some amazing companies that care for their people, that understand they can't do what they do without them. It is these companies that dont need a rotating door - because their people dont leave
but the employers don't care ... proof ? ... no comments here ... ;) .... look how many comments are on a UA-cam video about TOXIC: managers, work culture, work place etc etc ... and compare :)
Very Interesting observation Ion! I have met a lot of great leaders who do care, but sadly there are more that are overstressed, disengaged, trapped in their jobs because they need the money/benefits, and so they show up angry and do not look for ways to make peoples life better, including their own! Thank you for being a person who took the time to watch this and learn. I hope you commit to being one of those good ones!
All good points. Wish my supervisors would watch it, but they clearly have no interest in sharpening their leadership skills. I get the sense they're like the rest of us, just doing the bare minimum to keep the job.
@beyondthankyou - the reason your video resonates more with people wanting to leave their job than managers is mathematical: the number of suffering employees heavily outweighs the number of managers who are interested in talent retention.
Employees are going to leave no matter what as a manager you should have someone ready to replace that person if you don't that falls on you as a manager. As my recent employer is finding out right now. Not everyone is easily replaced and that's what management needs to think about when they are not paying you the salary you deserve
@@beyondthankyouexpecting employees to work overtime at short or no notice, sometimes expecting free unpaid work, not resolving any issues promptly...changing job descriptions at a whim which I suspect could be challenged in court as a change of contract...and this doesn't even touch condoning or even instigating bullying , sexual harassment etc
We did that with her, she didn't want to know. She Actually said in the meeting, she didn't want to hear anymore of these statements or questions. I went to her boss. He said he would talk to her. He didn't. Word got around. Everyone wanted to quit. I left 1st.
I want to know where it goes sour. By this point, there were so many missed opportunities along the way. Even better, I'd like to know which places or groups/departments/companies get this right.
also if its not specifically stated in your contract and i dont mean one of those vaguelly worded bs things about filling in roles as needed thats not binding get them to put it in writing that youll get financially compensated for it otherwise tell them politely where to stick it.
I had a meeting not too long ago (because of a project I was on) with a VP of our company (my bosses bosses bosses boss). He was shocked to just be learning of an issue we had been experiencing for over two years with one of our tools. No one told him, because none that reported to him knew about it. He was just too high on the food chain to get bad news bubbled up to him.
@@jjc4577 Sadly many senior leaders are so disconnected from the experience of their people that they dont even know how bad things are. This is why it is so important that leaders do rounds to speak to people and hear the "Real Stories"
I really loved my job until just recently. They hired a fianance director who I report to now. He's the type that would insist use metal staples instead of disolving staples in someone's surgery. We got to get costs down! Then he'd say that they were uncomfortable - what can be done? Then he'd say - wait they got to go back to get them removed? That costs more than the the just the initial cost of applying them - why the double charge? Why didn't you explain why the disolving ones were better? We need to get a consultant to give us another point of view. After a $10,000 review - they recommend using dissolving ones so from now on we'll start using them. (I'm in IT but you get the idea)
Many time people are just surviving in their leadership role. They think because their people are not complaining that things are ok. They neglect their people, ignore small problems that turn into big ones and then people quit
nice video. In the real life, the boss doesn't care about you, maybe, he doesn't know or remember who you are. He just wants to know how much profit he can get. You resign, he can hire another guy.
@beyondthankyou I am sure my case is very bad.Can you imagine a guy with poor performance and low efficiency of work can get the promotion and training. I work hard, no one appreciate.
I have lead multiple teams over the years and I'm always pleased to see my people leave if it is to go to a better opportunity. Sometimes they will leave out of frustration, but that is almost invariably because of dumb shit the execs do.
Found this out a hard way favioutism wins all. And i also realised the treatment i am getting is so different compared to her favourite snd other employees. I was wondering maybe the boss is testing. But after 2yr+ i realised. She is squeezing me. Snd press all my button to make me break and finally they did. I been tolerated their insults , belittle , personal insults . Now keep on want to find fault with me. Also the boss i think she know my ability snd scared i replace her favourite. So she make hell for me. I always thought if i meet her expectations , but it never did no matter how good i did. Work for 2 years only criticism. My behaviour has change drastically even they also notice it. I am more silent. Snd just keep to myself do my work. I am an introvert too. So yeah. The ladyboss insulted me twice for the same thing. Saying why am i single at 26 , no girlfriend , etc. Now again at age 29. Same comment's. And even ask me to grow up. Etc. Just pure rude. She even said my expression changed snd dont br defensive about it. But than she continues to point it out infront of me saying see your expression changed etc. These type of stuff causes me stress. I realise i dont want to sacrifice my mental health anymore and dont want to tolerate anymore. There are more companies out there. I thought if i work hard , be loyal things will work out. Guess i was wrong. I always gave 300% but not enough they kept want more. When i ask for advice she ask me to figure it myself or google etc. no training / guidance. When her favourite ask she patiently taught her. And even ask her to call her if she dont know anything. As a coworker. Being treated so differently. I am not envious tbh i feel like i am being used and unfair. I can do as well as her. Why am i treated like shit?
Once they’ve begun disengaging it’s over. They disengaged for a reason, a conversation after the fact will do nothing to change their feelings. Learn from it.
It really depends on wha that’s happened. Just last month I had a client with a person who was disengaging - they went and spoke with the person who was just board with the projects they were working on and saw no future for themselves. They had a conversation, asked what the person wanted to be doing, created some new opportunities and the person is back onboard
One of my reports has taken 25+ sick days in the last six months. No one knows what to say. HR is stonewalling us and won't help us understand the situation. I believe he's prepping to leave, but surprisingly, no one else thinks this.
What have you found when you check in with the person? What do they say? Sometimes people are going through things in their personal life (Family/Health/Parents) all we can do is ask?
To all men if you ever feel like you’re being harassed don’t go to HR go to the law it sounds messed up to do but this is a problem in our society and people are so quick to throw it under the rug as if it’s genuinely ok for a women to behave like a predator because if the roles were reversed that man will go to jail. male harassment is real!
I feel like in this day of age it’s unrealistic for managers to assume we will stick it out forever especially with wage stagnation when it’s much more lucrative for employees to switch jobs every couple of years!
It is funny you have said that…I have had two recruiters tell me the same things this week. Why would I stay for a 4% increase when I can get 10% next door and a signing bonus. Companies need to create more of an incentive to stay
@@beyondthankyouI’m currently experiencing wage compression. I’ve been with my company for almost 8 years. I started off making only $15 an hour and from there I would only get 3% raises year after year. Covid definitely postponed my plans for leaving with remote work making it more comfortable. I was able to get an internal job transfer with a starting pay of $45,000 which was around a 20% increase from my previous department. Almost 3 years has passed and it looks like the job market has made huge adjustments in their salaries. I saw a posting of the same job from my previous department and they updated the starting salary to $44,000 which is not much of a difference than what I make at my current job despite almost having 8 years of relevant experience. I’m kind of itching to look for a new job at this point but trying to be very strategic about it. I’m very comfortable at my current job so it will make it easier for me to be choosy about my next employer. Lesson learned for me is to politely decline low ball offers!
This video really makes me wonder that who's at fault of ""Quiet quitting".. Is it really the Employee... or the Employer who cannot give less F about these signs you listed?
I don't think you are far off. Yes people are burnt out after three very tough years. I do see many employee loose hope when organizations continually treat them so poorly they stop caring...
I work at Macy's. No raises, heavy turnover, understaffed, zero appreciation, overworked, and micromanaged. My managers are the worst. I have never been more unhappy. Looking elsewhere. Oh, and I'm the only FT person in my dept.
I am sorry to hear that. I was at a store the other day and could not find anyone to help. Can only imagine how much falls on your shoulders. I wonder if the stores understand that if they had better service more people may shop there
Companies need to unionize. I've been at the same plant for 19 1/4 years, with a pension, now they're hiring non-pensioners from out-of-state, and non-pensioners right out of high school, to do the easier jobs that I should have gotten (I've put in my time!)
What makes me mad is the sudden lack of respect for the older guys and girls. It's almost as if, companies are bending over backwards for Gen-Z kids, and older employees are old news.@@tab3672
Cracks me up hearing these body language indicators butchered by corporate trainers with a BS in psychology or a minor in it. Everyone is wrong and you read too much into it. Without proper training in that area, you're causing more harm than good. Nothing towards the guy posting the video, but every dummy who's told him that fairy tale was wrong. Next thing is, I'm not family, I'm not in the "team", this talk is just smoke and i just want to come in, pull my weight and go home. I don't want to meet for drinks, I don't want to talk on the phone or text, my time is my time. Idon't need friends, i have a few, a wife and four dogs, you're pretty low in my pecking order. You pay for a slice of my day, and that's all you get. You forget to tell me something? That's on you, I'm off the clock when I'm out of the building.
I couldn’t agree more that active listening and body language workshops are often horrible. As I share the in the video people are taught arms cross means closed off, or looking down to the left means they are lying.. when this is wrong more than it is right. People do read to much into these things with out taking the time to follow up, have conversations, and understand what really is going on for people
You should spend time convincing others to leave as well. Even finding them better jobs. You want to make as big an impact as you can otherwise employers will continue to do the abusive often illegal things that made me quit.
Love getting a job being told there is OT opportunities but is not mandatory worked for 2 and a half years only had to work 40 hours a week more If I chose too. Now since my pms are pussys and couldn't tell a client we can't push a deadline up 3 months we won't make it now they expect me to work 6 days a week 58 hours mandatory told me that I can't have Saturdays off to take care of my mother who can't be alone and I'm power of authority they don't care. I have found a new job just recently tried to talk to my manager to see if they would work with me or I'm gone they didn't want to give me the time of day to meet with me so I'm not giving them notice of my 2 weeks only HR fuck them.

Still suprised? Have you mr menager looked in the mirror or understood something?
Qwerty, I am not surprised at all that people do these things! The funny thing is I created this video to help leaders wake up and notice when employees feel the way you do. No one should be worked to death, not given credit, and should be able to disconnect from work. Sadly most leaders wait until some one has "had enough" and pissed off an resigned before they open their eyes. I am sorry you work for some one who does not treat you well

@@beyondthankyou I understand the point of the video and maybe I shouldn't have been so judgemental. However if right about people wanting to do their jobs and be left alone. @@warrenlewis3977 I get it. Most leaders don't have the "stuff" and sadly do more damage than good. The hard part is not ever person wants the same from their leader. Some want to be left alone and others, want their leaders to know way to much about their personal lives. And those desires change over time. IF, people want to learn, to get better, then they can over time....but it takes a lot of work...and most don't.
Wow! Thats so rude. He seems like a very nice human and just wants to help. This video hit the nail on the head for me. I’m working 100 hours a pay period, expected to work when I’m at home, overworked , overwhelmed, and my boss never checks in on me to see how I’m feeling about things. I have also come to my boss with concerns and solutions to no avail. We just keep getting work piled on us, unrealistic expectations, and no “thank you” for what you guys do. I’m so over it. I absolutely HATE my job. 😢
Most companies don't really care of you leave, you'll be replaced very quickly and forgotten about! Always remember that and never be loyal to one company, because they are not loyal to you. Also, I highly doubt many managers or leaders are watching this... it's probably the people that are planning to leave!
Your right! I made this video to support leaders, but most of the people watching are those who are being neglected
The Most satisfying thing I ever did was tell my boss and company that I didn’t need them anymore 😅😅😅😂

There are 3 distinct types of supervisory positions:
Boss
Manager
Leader
Bosses boss /people/ around.
Sorry to hear you had that expericne....people don't see the work and effort of their people and sadly this ends up happening!
Summed up as the employee becoming withdrawn and no longer feeling it's worth the effort engaging with the employer and/or colleagues. I know that feeling and it's usually just before quiting.
You got it! It is right before he I have had enough moment
Haven't gotten a raise in 1.5 years. Promised a promotion than reneged on . Ready to move on
I am sorry to hear that! If people do not value you and your time some times it is time to move on.
The best way to get a raise is to change jobs.

Here's a story: One of my co-workers had worked there for over 40 years. He took all his personal belongings home, then went on a long vacation. When his vacation was over, he went to the company headquarters and turned in his resignation/retirement. Headquarters informed our manager that he had quit/retired.
That is a nice, relaxed way to leave! ha
Now that’s bad ass.. that’s kinda how I want to leave/retire when I do
This is what I did and I was 24.
I had a number of experiences like that at a job I had a number of years ago. They were “shocked” when I put in my two weeks as well.
I would agree, especially considering my last supervisor. He was a politician first, supervisor second. @@jjc4577
This is super accurate, but managers don't care, i am having tough time at work and can't wait to leave
I am sorry to hear that.
Not all managers are leaders. Leaders are born not made.
As a result they neglect to check in and when they do small problems turninto bigger ones and people leave

Bosses do appreciate you. When they realize how hard it is to replace you.
You got it!
Nope - they'll just be angry you left them high and dry and now they look bad because they can't do the job they told you how to do.
In reality nobody cares if you stay or go...
Sadly many people feel that people dont care because no one takes the five minutes to check in with their people
What it basically comes down to is that the employer really doesn't care about anybody these days.
Totally depends on how easy you are to replace.

Exactly!
My last job an employee kept taking every other Sat. off I covered him for 6 months the last one I covered was a week before the 4th well the spineless boss gave him the entire 4th weekend off.
It is amazing how a few key people leave and the culture changes.
The only response I have to that is what a jerk - sorry but anyone who operates that way is not worth the investment
I have 2 of the three... my co worker has the third symptom... always in the bathroom, constantly telling me they want to quit, they have for 2 jobs, and apparently applied for them, but the job was taken down. I deal with this for 40 hours straight, and my manager just tells me to stay positive
Sadly managers often don’t get it. I spend my time helping leaders get this
I don't think it will get to that point for me, but who knows?
I have all three signs. Not once has a supervisor ever asked me how I'm doing. I usually leave soon after
Sorry to hear that! And yes sadly many leaders don’t take time to spot the signs
You were just way head of the leadership curve! Those small checkins are what make the biggest difference! Thank you for sharing
I don't know what planet you're living on but i have never met an employer that gave a dam about there employees, There favorite saying was "We have an open door policy if you don't like the conditions theirs the door" There idea was young people on start up wagers have fresh ideas over older more experienced people!🤦♂

Very Interesting observation Ion! I have met a lot of great leaders who do care, but sadly there are more that are overstressed, disengaged, trapped in their jobs because they need the money/benefits, and so they show up angry and do not look for ways to make peoples life better, including their own! @beyondthankyou - the reason your video resonates more with people wanting to leave their job than managers is mathematical: the number of suffering employees heavily outweighs the number of managers who are interested in talent retention.

They go sick.
Yup!

No one should experience harassment I have see it in ever direction.
The jobs I had in the past had a high turnover rate. Companies don't really care of you leave, you'll be replaced very quickly and forgotten about.
Sorry to hear that. Maximizing for profits not for people
Life isn't fair, is it? It used to be a great place to work.@@beyondthankyou
Unions may work for you but they are a money drain to most. You have a vioce to speak for yourself
3 for 3 😮💨
Sorry to hear that!
They are happy to have you leave so they can replace you with an employee they’ll pay less.
Sadly this does happen. To many company’s focusing on the spread sheet instead the the humanity of the people working for them
Love getting a job being told there is OT opportunities but is not mandatory worked for 2 and a half years only had to work 40 hours a week more If I chose too.
Sorry to hear that! Sounds like leavening was the best move
source = trust me bro.
Ha
Everyone’s experience is going to be different and if you don’t ask, and engage with the person your just guessing
This has got to be the worst time to be a leader....
It is not easy.
Rock and roll almost to death and expect sensr of humor, funny af!
Stop sharing ideas, not to be robbed, no justice, no credit or credit goes to sb else
Stop showing up - its healthy to distance yourself from toxic environment, why otherwise are ppl would do it?
Still suprised?
Have you mr menager looked in the mirror or understood something?
Qwerty, I am not surprised at all that people do these things! The funny thing is I created this video to help leaders wake up and notice when employees feel the way you do. No one should be worked to death, not given credit, and should be able to disconnect from work. Sadly most leaders wait until some one has "had enough" and pissed off an resigned before they open their eyes. I am sorry you work for some one who does not treat you well
i really dont understand Americans if the company you work for doesnt have to give you notice when they lay you off why the hell are you giving them notice for quitting. Its not to your benefit screw them.
I'd rather just quit and get a 2 week vacation because my last job gave a shot amount of pto(9 days) that was all used for sick, vacation, and holiday.
Dead easy I feel I should be paid more, no
Next money leaves for a better payed job
That base has to be there if not we go else’s where
I disagree with no 1
Got it...what would it be for you?
Eh you can’t stop us from quiting, hell one more year and I’ll be job free this my side hustle is takeing off it will be just me makeing my own money no bosses needed👍👍 quit your jobs people work fir yourself it’s better.
When they stop pretending the boss's stupid jokes are funny....
I love that…and yes!
Sign number 4 they told you where to shove your job😊
Well think that is more than a sign at that point ha
They probably pay this guy over 100k to babble like this.
Hey Warren Lewis I am the guy that babbles in the video nice to meet you! I work for myself and try to get leader not be jerks. A lot of people like yourself just want to show up, do their job, and be left alone. Thanks for sharing
@@beyondthankyou I understand the point of the video and maybe I shouldn't have been so judgemental. However if right about people wanting to do their jobs and be left alone. That point alone the entire problem. Most leaders don't have leadership qualities or the "stuff". The bulk of the qualities you need to be effective as a leader you can't teach or coach.
ZERO points given.
What where you hoping to find?
You need a deeper voice mate
ha I will work on that
