Just depends what store it is IMO. The other one near me it almost always is working and they get more customers probably since it's a busier area.

Some places are better about it than others, it's mostly Taylor's fault for engineering ice cream machines that give cryptic messages employees can't understand which increases the amount they fail which makes them have to call Taylor's repair techs. So mostly it's a matter of if your local store can figure it out on their own (some of the error messages are just like random letters and numbers that you will have no idea what they mean until you know what the problem was already which makes it useless lmao), and/or how often they feel like shelling out for another repair. The one near me leaves it broken for weeks at a time, but there's another one a town over from me that's almost always up AND probably a higher volume store. Just gotta find one that cares more about it I guess.
My McDonald’s ice cream machine always works. Some people just think it’s broken when in reality we gotta clean it like 2 times a week. Also sometimes it can go into heat mode which heats the ice cream so we aren’t able to sell any ice cream, and sometimes we run out of mix and we can’t sell no more because then if we don’t have it filled to a certain amount then it can break the machine. Just letting people know that there are legitimate issues with the machine sometimes or we are just cleaning it.
McDonald's fun fact: At McDonald's Singapore, you can get a durian McFlurry. While an ordinary durian is banned in public places there, including on their rapid transit system, the MRT! When it comes to comparisons to cheese, I like to say the durian took its stench while the ackee took a cheese's flavor.
