I think one of the saddest things is that she was never able to fully belong to Harry and William alone. They constantly had to share their mother with the whole world while living in a fishbowl where every move of theirs is scrutinized. And when she died the whole world watched two young boys trying to hold it together as best they could. Even after her death someone’s always got a conspiracy theory about their mother, someone’s always digging up her grave so to speak about what she didn’t do right. Harry himself met a landmine victim that his mother took a picture with a few months before she died and remarked, that the boy actually got to see more of his mother than he did before he died.
