You need to hear Earth Wind & Fire "Hearts of Fire".....that is the song that my Daddy dedicated to me. He would pick me up as a small child and dance around while singing it to me. It's our song. Also "Shining Star"....I'm 51 years old, and those two songs are still about me and my Daddy.
Phillip Bailey was on the stage, and he was in the background. One thing about Earth, Wind and Fire was that when they performed, their positions on the stage would change in accords with the song they would sing. And, ooh yeah, they are my favorite band.
The falsetto guy AKA Philip Bailey is the guy with the white shirt and black vest. And yeah, Steely Dan (and Donald Fagen) have the same kind of production values.
Lifelong metalhead here, but I listen to EWF every day.
They have two lead singers Maurice White who's lead on this song and Phillip Bailey who has the falsetto voice..
Mauricio (the singer here) was the boss and the greater of ew&f. He and Philip Bailey were the singer's in the band. Also can I ask you to try listening and react to the Whispers (rock steady), Ohio players and atomic dog by parliament. I think you'll like them.

Don't understand why people spend most of their lives limiting themselves and their listener identity to one type of music, like hip hop head or metal dude. I was born in the 60s and always loved all kinds of music except reggae and country. I gravitated toward soul, disco, hard and progressive rock, jazz and some pop. Even classical music.
I'm really digging your reactions, especially with Earth Wind & Fire.
I hope you do more of their songs, in particular, Can't Hide Love and that's the way of the world. You'll be blown away.

The sax solo in this reminds me a little of the one in "Deacon Blues", speaking of Steely Dan.

Man, good seeing you again! And I love E, W & F....grew up with my mom playing their albums and CDs around the house all the time. One of her favorite songs of theirs was Way of the World, so every time I hear that one I think of her. Talk about professional musicians and performers. though, man, their live performances were immaculate! Top of their game! The guy you're talking about who did a lot of the falsettos in the band was Philip Bailey. And you dig Steely Dan, too?? Damn, another of my mom's faves. I grew up with some good damn music, dude, and I'm so glad I know those bands.
As for rap songs, Eminem released a response diss to MGK's Rap Devil diss. Even if you can't react to it on here, you should definitely check it out. Take care, D. Peace

hey man glad to see you again. Check the album Enter The Wu Tan: 36 Chambers of Wu Tang Clan. Probably the best hip-hop album of all time and it's old asf so i don't think the copyright will be a problem!!
