I Loved Earth, Wind, and Fire in 1975, and Still Love them now, in 2024! Spirit is my Favorite Album! Rest In Peace Maurice.💔💔💔🥀🥀🥀🙏🙏🙏🕊️🕊️🕊️❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
I am transcended ever time I listen to EWF. I know why I love and live soul funk. These guys are the best in the world then and now. I still go to see them perform today. Still the best. RIP Maurice
The entire band was hot, on fire and a group of professionals. Props to Larry Dunn ( keyboard) who contributed to the success of the band. He's on keyboard with the big Afro.
I love the way Maurice White and Philip Bailey work off of each other! Both of the are so awesome and complement each other so well with their different styles of vocals! I think Philip is insanely underrated as a singer!
When I see Maurice in this context, knowing that he was once a Jazz Drummer for Ramsey Lewis, it just goes to show the genius of Musicianship - a gift to music. Thanks Maurice.
This is still the #1 band in the land no 1 is as funky as EW&F and the guitars and horns sections, had us in High school playing their music, they are truly the best of the best.
WOW! This bass line! This is the one occasion that the best horn band ever, got put aside from a simple (just kidding i adore this instrument) four stringed guitar.
The best spiritual soul group of all time.(listen) We are people of the mighty ,mighty people of the sun,In our hearts lays all the answers and truth you cant run from...... so ahead of they time....R.I.P..Maurice
The first real ditching party I was invited to played this album over and over again...you needed nothing else, not even a dance partner! Long live the funk!
Man this song speaks to me so much! "In your heart lies all the answers to the truth you can't run from." And this is a rhythm section clinic! Fred and Ralph are just locked in! And Dino's bass line! Maurice really was a genius and he was a real hero to me.
My Lord that sound is timeless Maurice my brother your stage presence is second to none Best is yet to come and enjoy your Holy and Mighty Promotion to the next realm "WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR YOUR DREAMS WILL TAKE YOU VERY FAR"
I’ve heard young bass players & even older ones talk crap about Verdine...but ask them to dance & sing while holding down the groove & they can’t come close.
I think this is they 1st hit on the R & B side It blew me away and I was only 9 or 10 years old at the time PS It wasn't their 1st hit but it's the 1st one that I know of
"Groove Personified" .....Hell to the Yes. The greatest band of all time...and the thing that elevates them to that status..is not only the message behind the music, the fantastic vocals and masters of their individual instruments..but the Inter-dimensional, time warping shared experience we know and feel as "THE GROOVE"...baddest band to ever do it...Timeless
Absolutely!!!!.......the Band and the Audience too...went up and up and up...you HAD to end this with exlplosions! EWF is the baddest band of all times. XD
Thank God many of them did!…Quincy Jones, Michael Jordan, Oprah, Steve Harvey, EWF, and all our Brothers & Sisters that are successful today and not making excuses complaining!!!
The Funk bands of the 70's cannot be touched and are the backbone of rap and hip hop music, EW&F, The Isley Brothers, James Brown, Sly and the family Stone, War, Slave, Cameo, Confunkshun, Rick James, the Temptations, Brother's Johnson, Brick, Brass Construction, Crown Heights Affair, Kool and the Gang , Commodores, Jackson 5, Heatwave, Chicago, Rufus and Chaka Khan, Parament Funkadelic, Bootsy, Chic, Roger, Ohio Players, Teddy Pendagrass, Atlantic Starr, Average White Band, Lakeside, Taste of Honey, Ray Parker Jr and Radio, Delfonics, Spinners, LTD, Ojays, Maze with Frankie Beverly, then you had the go go bands Trouble Funk, EU, Rare Essence, Chuck Brown and the soul Searchers that sang Busting Lose, whew did I forget anybody? but all these bands were great!
EWF were really the first funk supergroup who inspired many including Brits - The Average White Band and Level 42. Everything was top class with two lead vocalists (Maurice and Phil - 3 if you include Ralph Johnson) any of which could have held a band, three / four decent writers, incredible horns and percussion, Verdine on bass (energy!), Johnny Graham on guitar and of course Larry Dunn on keys - pure magic.
I Loved Earth, Wind, and Fire in 1975, and Still Love them now, in 2024! Spirit is my Favorite Album! Rest In Peace Maurice.💔💔💔🥀🥀🥀🙏🙏🙏🕊️🕊️🕊️❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥
the crowd had no idea they were looking at the future of black music right before their eyes
Yeah man. These gentlemen revolutionised music. This was mid 1970's. Listen to them late 70's early 80's. Completely different.
They had no idea that they were listening to an old Gospel song either. 😂😂😂 History being made before their eyes and ears. ❤
The Greatest Band ever !!!!!!
I am transcended ever time I listen to EWF. I know why I love and live soul funk. These guys are the best in the world then and now. I still go to see them perform today. Still the best. RIP Maurice
Verdine White laying down the groove like he usually does.

EWF THE BEST BAND IN THE LAND. ALWAYS AND FOREVER.
Again pure EWF! One of those rare clip showing Ralph Johnson on the drums! I Love It!!!!!
I lost it for that reason when I first saw this back in 1997!
The entire band was hot, on fire and a group of professionals. Props to Larry Dunn ( keyboard) who contributed to the success of the band. He's on keyboard with the big Afro.
He was musical director at 21.
I love Verdine's energy in every performance. 🤩
I love the way Maurice White and Philip Bailey work off of each other!
Both of the are so awesome and complement each other so well with their different styles of vocals! I think Philip is insanely underrated as a singer!
Noooo!
After 30+ years and still can hit that falsetto notes.
The industry knows he has one of the greatest vocals in the industry.
They would take turns singing the high notes
Rest in peace, FRED WHITE 🥁 👑
He was 20 years old here
Yes Sir!
@@RoninAliNowOn My man! 🤜🏾🤛🏾
The greatest R &B Band.
When I see Maurice in this context, knowing that he was once a Jazz Drummer for Ramsey Lewis, it just goes to show the genius of Musicianship - a gift to music. Thanks Maurice.
Dont forget Verdine and his wicked bass and those HORNS!
That's how i spent my age 16 ,, grooving to the elements EWF. 🕺
Pure, clean, clear, TALENT AND SOUL!!!!! Can't beat this kind of music. This is what the world needs today!! Thanks for posting.
As a white person of the funk persuasion, I must declare this the funkiest song in the EW&F catalog.
It's been my fav forever!!
If you think Mighty Mighty is EWF's funkiest, may I suggest you check out "Happy Feelin'" from their "That's the Way of the World" LP.
My fav for sure!
This is still the #1 band in the land no 1 is as funky as EW&F and the guitars and horns sections, had us in High school playing their music, they are truly the best of the best.
I'd say it was surpassed in the funk category by "Rock it" from the albums "Avatar" and "In The Name Of Love" 1996/1997

Who says that!?!?! [Breaks bottle, glares around room]
Are you serious??! I never heard that one. SMDH!
Wait WHAT??? (joins Douglas with baseball bat in hand)
I’ve heard young bass players & even older ones talk crap about Verdine...but ask them to dance & sing while holding down the groove & they can’t come close.
Do you know what that skepticism is based on?
Dam , that bass is banging, all the way from Mississippi.
I think this is they 1st hit on the R & B side It blew me away and I was only 9 or 10 years old at the time PS It wasn't their 1st hit but it's the 1st one that I know of

Sorry to hear Maurice passed away
EWF were really the first funk supergroup who inspired many including Brits - The Average White Band and Level 42. Everything was top class with two lead vocalists (Maurice and Phil - 3 if you include Ralph Johnson) any of which could have held a band, three / four decent writers, incredible horns and percussion, Verdine on bass (energy!), Johnny Graham on guitar and of course Larry Dunn on keys - pure magic.
The funkiest thing they ever recorded, for me. The studio version, I mean
R.I.P. Mr White
