Toyota helped to start the booming market of small crossover SUVs back in the mid 90's and they haven't slowed down since.
Enter the 2017 Toyota RAV4 Limited. Now a 5 door, 5 passenger cargo hauler available in 5 trim levels, with both front and all wheel drive options the RAV4 has grown into an adult.
New for 2017 is TSS-P, now standard on every RAV4 regardless of trim. TSS-P stands for Toyota Safety Sense P which is an upscale safety suite comprised of Pre Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist function, Auto High Beams and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. This is on top of the standard Star Safety System which includes aids such as traction and stability control along with Smart Stop Technology. That's a lot to digest. What it all boils down to is that the RAV4 is one safe little ute and should things go awry, it will give all it has to protect you.
Time is well spent in the spacious cabin. Standard in every RAV4 is Bluetooth phone and audio streaming so you can pump up the jams. Want more pump for your jams? Toyota has you covered with the optional JBL Sound system. No longer must you worry about reversing into something with a backup camera installed into every RAV4 leaving the factory. Thaw out with dual zone automatic climate control, heated seats and steering wheel and the peace of mind knowing you have the Toyota reputation behind you.
It's easy to see why Toyota sells so many RAV4's. Reliable, safe, practical and comfortable all weather transportation for the masses. Seems like a win to me.
Grappone Toyota is located in Bow, NH just south of Concord and only 20 minutes from Manchester. Conveniently located at the intersection of I89/I93 - come see why we are Driven to Amaze!

its a snow day! nice review! also like the new video editing and different angles of the car (inside and out), great job!
Thanks WylunCustoms, I'm glad to keep improving and receive feedback from regular viewers!
How moche
Wherever you are driving, its beautiful! Good review.
Good job man, keep it up
Clear and relaxed. Enjoyed your informative video. Thank you.
You are welcome, I'm glad it was helpful to you!
Thanks for awesome video! Would you say this is better than 2016 Subaru Crosstrek Hybird???
Awesome review!!!! We are getting the 2018 XLE ... wife will be happy
Glad to hear, that's always a good thing!
i was going to pick up chr and i hated it so we decided to go with rav 4 limited awd. best deccion we made.
Glad you like your new RAV4 - enjoy it!
Thank you there is a lot of snow where I live and I looking for a safe Vehicle
It would be nice if you added the fuel economy in the subtitle bar for the European vieuwers in kilometers. Keep up the good work kid!
Great Review! How does it handle on ice and icy inclines?
Thanks Cody Santor. As with any vehicle, much of how it handles ice is do to the tires mounted. Dedicated winter tires will make even the worst of winter cars handle traverse easier. I was fortunate and didn't encounter any ice on my drive, but the snowy slushy roads that I did travel the RAV4 handled with ease.
thanks
Toyota ...came forward with this model because it assembled enough changes to make it a huge success in the auto market just take a look inside & look at the quality in details that alone can satisfied many it posses beauty & great shape & as far as fuel calculation is concerned it's not bad either on top of that as we see in this video it can run in bad weather bad roads terrain it's safe & pretty good to bring you around , nice auto well thought .

Nice review . Looking for a Rav 4 Hybrid review . Thank you.
Bought the 2017 SE FWD for my wife as she loved the interior and the stereo... buy the AWD Platinum if you live in the mountains as we do! I'd buy the AWD even though it won't handle as well on dry pavement. The Tahoe winter has been rough and we've had to use chains with our snow tires. We're averaging 29mpg in Tahoe running Maverik's ethanol free unleaded (eco-mode).
With awd you dont need chains!
@@lbeyyt6581 RIF. I stated FWD.
Great review Hollis. Hope you will test the new Toyota CHR soon.
Thanks Andrew. I absolutely will do the CH-R once they come in, I haven't heard anything on that date yet so just keep a watch for it!
Many thanks Hollis.
Grappone Automotive Group is there a difference between awd and regular for daily driving on paved roads? I have the 2015 xle
Dom I'm not entirely sure I understand your question. Are you asking if there is a difference between driving the front wheel drive or AWD RAV4 on a dry paved road? If so, no you will not notice any difference. The AWD on the RAV4 sends minimal power to the rear wheels unless the system detects slippage, so most of the time an AWD RAV4 will "feel" like a front wheel drive RAV4. Hope that's helpful?
yes, thanks for your time. We plan to get another Rav 4 since we need another car. There very easy to drive and good on gas.
Hey Hollis. You seem to not mind the snow which is a good thing. But with you driving in the boonies the snow actually didn't look too bad, lol. But it sucks that all of that nasty salt and grime built up on the vehicle, it gives me the creeps when we get icy weather. The JBL woofer looks like the same one in the Tacoma limited. Ignore the naysayers, this is an outstanding vehicle that you would get longevity out of!
Hey Kenny, the JBL sub is probably very similar if not the same. Makes sense for cost effectiveness on their part. And you're right, I love driving in the snow. Dealing with it on a daily basis is another story lol.
It’s great in the snow with good tires as long as you don’t get hung up in the middle then it’s all over. There is not enough power to the rear wheels to get out of something like that.
Man talk about frozen tundra. I don't miss driving in Canada (it rarely snows in Tennessee).
10tenman10 this winter is shaping up to feel like the Arctic Tundra for sure, and we are only in NH!
Your my fav car rewiewer
WeGucciHere you're
I’m expecting a new redesign 5th generation RAV4 2019 or RAV4 2020 will be a bit sportier and more aggressive, more eco, bigger, nicer, safer, stronger, and higher than this 4th generation .
The front of the vehicle shall be semi- AUDI Q8 2018,
and the rear of the vehicle shall be semi- BMW X7 2018 .
That is my dream suv
Just the manual adjusting seats is the only thing missing in this ride love my rav but that was a huge missed opportunity . Guess they save that for the Lexus x,) wanna get a Lexus one day tho
good
Awsome
If compared AWD system between RAV4 and Highlander, is there huge difference how it handles in snow and icy roads used with exact same tires?
Mian Ahmad, I don't have technical documents on the AWD systems that are in these two Toyotas, however it seems logical that they would be very similar systems in order to reduce cost of manufacture. Both the RAV4 & Highlander that I took out in the snow did an admirable job, it was the tires that really limited the vehicles. Regardless of the drivetrain I always have and will recommend winter tires for their superior ability to handle snow/ice - my family and I won't go without them, and I have AWD.
nice
👍👍👍 great review but what color of this car
This RAV4 Limited was Silver Sky metallic with a Black Softex interior.
The original XA10 Rav wasn't corolla platorm. It was it's own platform.
Is the 2018 Rav 4 equipped standard with front rear view camera ? .This is important safety issue for me and others . .Thank you .
Mechanic1756 the 2018 RAV4 comes with a standard Rear View Camera. The 360 Bird's Eye View Camera system is standard on the Platinum trim.
Please add in Title for US viewers only as the rest of the World has very different dash controls and specifications.
Thanks
Who is best,2017 toyota rav4 limited AWD or 2017 toyota rav4 limited AWD Hybrid???....thank's!..
Do you know how the AWD works...doesn't seem like it. Does the r/f pass seat have power adjustment...forward/back...up/down?
The front passenger seat is powered on the Limited and Platinum trim levels, it has 4 way adjustment. While I don't claim to know everything about the Toyota all wheel drive system, I do know the basics of how it operate since I used to work in the Toyota Service Department.
how do you think the fuel economy is? I have a truck aha... as well how is it off road?
Fuel economy is pretty decent, it will be better than a truck for sure. Whether front or all wheel drive, you should average in the mid 20's for MPG. If you are looking for more, the Hybrid will average in the low 30's. As for off road, I haven't taken a RAV4 on anything worse than a snowy country road (which it handled fine). This is definitely no truck, no serious off roading capabilities.
Could you test the new Subaru Impreza
I would love to, I'm a Subie owner myself. However we don't represent Subaru here at Grappone so I won't get a chance to.
does it have airvents underneath the 2 front seats for the passengers at the back? tnx
Foot registers? Those it does have, there are no vents in the back of the center console though.
Grappone Automotive Group dont know what it is called but venza and 4runner has it underneath the front seats and the vent is aimed at the back passengers feet
Those are foot registers, and yes the RAV4 has them.
Grappone Automotive Group that's nice. planning to trade in my 16runner with 18platinum rav but I heard it's underpower?
is it smart to trade in my 16 4runner limited to 18 rav platinum? looking to save money on gas as well as the maintenance in the future. tnx
Much of that depends on what you are looking for in a vehicle. The RAV4 will definitely save you on fuel, and oil changes will be a few dollars less. Things like tires, brakes and filters will roughly the same cost as the 4Runner. Being Toyota products, either one will last an extremely long time without any major headaches provided you keep up with the factory maintenance schedule. If you do things such as towing, or off roading the RAV4 will have a more difficult time as it wasn't designed for that like the 4Runner was. I'd say go check a RAV4 out, see what your 4Runner is worth, and go from there!
Grappone Automotive Group thanks for that wonderful advice! just subscribed
I'm so glad to have been of help! Thanks for your subscription!
Was this RAV4 equipped with snow tires or all-seasons?
The standard all-seasons that came from the factory
Je metrise pas où son les veilleuses quand tubes a l'arrêt
is platinum still availabe in 2018?
It sure is!
Are the seats in the Rav4 just as comfortable in the Camry? Sitting in the Camry I felt like I was in a limo!
Probably not.if u have broad shoulders it's kinda tight
Does it have blowers in the back
Assuming you're referring to rear seat air vents, the RAV4 does not have them on the rear of the center console but does have them under the front seats to direct air to the foot area.
Driver seat room seems to me a lot more comfortable than Corolla (which is really tight).. it's actually about the size of the Highlander
I believe I was told that the Rav4 is built on a Camry frame not a Corolla....
the original Rav4 was built on the Corolla platform, but so was the CR-V which was based on the Civic. but from the 2nd or 3rd gen is when they switched to the Camry and Accord platform.
niece

So much room for activities. 😂
The 2017 CR-V is way better than the RAV4! IMO
Keep an eye out, we will have a video of the all new 2017 CR-V in the not to distant future!
I like the Rav4 better than the CR-V any day of the week. CR-V ugly
CR-V is ugly and Rav4 is sexy huh? You are blind man. No offense though!
GBraidi78 No, I'm not blind, perhaps your are? No offence though! Personal taste and preference is a subjective matter. You're entitled to your own opinion just not your own facts.
that's your opinion. i like the Rav4 better, and it's more reliable.
Terrible video. You never videoed the SUV's performance in the snow
Sorry you feel that way Harry Eldridge, the roads were all covered in snow from the night prior. I was trying to simulate a typical New England morning commute.
Don't be a Hater Harry, you make a video or keep those thoughts to yourself.
