This old debate. Yep, Headrush are USELESS at customer service when you compare them to Line 6. I have emailed Headrush over 30 times! and have never once had an answer! Also waited over an hour on the phone (And I'm not alone)The Headrush Pedalboard has two known issues which Headrush will fix immediately if you live in the States (or maybe the UK.) but will totally ingnore, if you live, say for example, in New Zealand, where I live. So, if you have either the Rainbow of death (ROD), which may well be, as someone noted below, a software problem, you can't reload the software so you can't solve the issue because the machine won't turn on. The other issue is the loss of USB communication. This has the same problem as the ROD. If you can't talk to the machine you can't fix the software. Even a factory reset doesn't help. However you can fix the machine yourself by swapping out the controller board (The one shown in the vid above). You can purchase them from Mike at Instrumental Parts, I think it's www.instrumentalparts.com just google it. They are 170$US. He's a super good dude to deal with, responds to emails almost immediately and is knowledgeable. I would have had to throw my unit away if it wasn't for that company (The part took only 9 days to get to me). Swapping the board is easy as long as you are careful. I've also got a Helix - Which has also failed since I've owned it so it's not just a Headrush problem. The difference is that when I emailed Line 6 they had a job number raised within 1 hour and had a service agent contact me. They then proceeded to organise the repair...The companies are chalk and cheese. But I've got to say, I still prefer the Headrush to the Helix. It's purely user preference and nothing to do with sonic quality, which is great on both the units. PS. I once mentioned the terrible communication problems with Headrush on one of the forums.
