Don't exit instance you just open map and go to the wp for next step instead saves you lots of time. If you can't see the wp you need to go too look at bottom right corner on your map and there is a layer option to use, click until you find the lost wp and if you are done inside of the instance just wp out.
If you have access to the starting Golem Banker (2 weeks) for each new character, then you can: open bank, use tomes to level up, and then instantly teleport to the waypoint and it will leave/skip the tutorial instance
If you want to do this weekly think about buying level 10 account bound gear and weapons from the TP. Will only cost a couple of silver.
Was thinking the same thing.
There's account bound stuff you can BUY? What are they please ?
Actually you can buy blood bound (account bounded growing with your level) with provisionner tokens. 10 for a weapon. 1 obsidian shard a day @ the black citadel. If you have thousands of those thanks to silverwaste you know what to do.
I wish there was a timer so you knew exactly when your weekly key resets.
Edit: Apparently it resets on Monday 8:30 UTC+1
So confused on why some people think it's not worth the time, it can be done easily in 10mins. Perhaps they are salty that they missed out on a free weekly key all this time, and want to undermine this farm.
Anyway, there are some shortcuts to doing this faster, travelling to the inn in the home instance, you can cut through the fence from the right, instead of walking where the green arrow tells you.
In some instances, namely the bandit cave medical supplies one, you can waypoint out instantly instead of pressing "leave instance" then waypoint after.
When you are back at the home instance to give medical supplies to Andrew in the inn, you can talk to him through the wall instead of going into the room.
If you have personal golem bank for new characters, you can do the same thing the video did in the tutorial, cutting through the farm to the final boss and wait at the water. You can buy a level 10 axe and keep it in your bank for weekly farm, and take out your tomes and axe while waiting for the boss to die/spawn.
Obviously with mounts, it's all even faster.
I think it's because they compare it to what you can be doing instead. People who are super into min/maxing every second of play to make the most money possible are the ones who hate this the most.
But for the rest of us, given that this only takes 10-15 minutes, it's a good way to utilize downtime. And if you happen to get really lucky with your Key, you might end up making a fortune. Otherwise, it depends on which chest you're opening, as sometimes the guaranteed drop is vendor trash worth a gold or two.
Something I think a lot of people overlook as well is that the Black Lion Statuettes are worth a lot in bulk, as sometimes they can be redeemed for Infinite Tools.
You could take the WP near lieautenant Francis right after you finish the tutorial and after you save orphanage you can simply run to Leutenant Francis too.
So you became a hero of Shaemoor by running to the river?
the fastest race for key farming is Norn or Asura. several minutes faster than human, including tutorial. Norn choose Guard the Mists; Asura choose Synergetics.
Buy Bloodbound weapons with 10 Provisioner Tokens each. They will help in the long run, especially if also want to get level 40 and 60 keys.
Using Bloodbound weapons for this is wild and not even remotely worth it.
If you put a lvling tome in a shared inventory slot you can use it and then click on a waypoint, that way you skip the tutorial.
6:38 I want to know which version of "fear not this night" is this
Nice Video, but you can skip a lot of not needed loading screens for a few copper there. And also skip a few dialogs. For exact information let me know.
is there a shortcut compared to the guides of Cellofrag or TacO?
So this can only be done with a fresh character right? So ya keep an empty character slot open to keep remaking a new one each week? Or can ya repeat that same quest with any lvl character once a week?
You can do the run with as many characters that have not done it before, I have done it on all my other characters which is why I keep the extra slot for the key farm each week.
so if i do this on Saturday, I cant do it again until next sat? or can i do it on Tues after reset. im confused on that lol
You can do it when it resets which is normally midnight Sunday. So yes if you do it Saturday then you can do it again on Tuesday
Nice Guide but so much work for only one Key 😱
its only way instead of paying with gem, you can go to lvl 40 and 60 for 2 more keys, lvl 10 run take about 30min, it hardly can be considered as any hard effort, right now i am doing this on 6 alts
@@nargalda773 just wondering, if i do all the lvl 10,40 and 60 quest within one week, will i get 3 keys or just 1 key?
@@season161 3
@@nargalda773 nice, thanks for the info
@@season161 only level 10 key is limited weekly. but the level 40 and 60 keys can repeatedly without limitations.
Is this still viable? I did a lvl10 story on a new character and got no key. It's literally only my 2nd ever character so shouldn't be related to the weekly reset as I hadn't done a lvl10 story for weeks.
It has worked for me recently
@@sweeps8342 it did work in the end. I was being thick and had only completed the first instance.
I might have to get another character slot to do this

upvote. Cause of course I could buy keys but the idea is to challenge ourselves to not do the easy way out but the quickest and with the greatest rewards that don't cost real money.
edit: essentially it's not about the money. And especially, it never is.
@@crimsonfancy this has been the source of lion key for me for the last 4 year
Nice! When the timer resets for the key? Sunday mid night?
Yup I always try to do mine on a Monday
Depends on what time zone you reside in. The actual reset time is 7:30am UTC.
Very slick
is this any more faster then guardian line ??
ranger, warrior, or thief is better than guardian.
ranger = axe/torch + short bow
warrior = sword/axe + axe/mace
thief = dagger/dagger + short bow
idk... 1 key/week.. Isint its faster just do fractal dailies and recs and then convert gold to gems or idk... flip items in TP ?
You would do both of those things though.. so you get fractal loot and 1 key a week.. Ez
uhh wait wut?
Yikes. This is a lot of work. I think its cheaper to just pay a buck o five per key through the gem store. Time is money. We're only on this earth for so long.
couldn't be more real
and even if you don't want to pay, farming gold to trade for gems passively while actually enjoying the game would be easier
@@emmagoldman5382 Debatable. It's A) hardly more profitable than buying with gold and B) I actually like speedrunning through the story missions, it's definitely more enjoyable than grinding gold in SW or similar...
By quick calculation, one BLTC key costs with current exchange rate around 36 gold. That is about 1 hour + 10-20 minutes of farming the most profitable farmtrains like DW or DS and 2 hours of Silverwastes (keep in mind that that's the benchmark g/hour with optimal farming routes, build and knowledge without afking).
@@TheActualTed I was talking about gold made passively, not farming. I can make enough for a key in pvp or wvw or fractals in a few hours and actually have fun, without the weekly limitation.
This is the reason the BLCs are generally full of junk. If you couldn't farm them for free, ANet could remove the junk from the chests.
They wouldn't, though, cause people would just farm gold to buy gems instead.
Anet are greedy, game is trash. When wow goes free all these trash mmos will close
@@ThePunisher-si8ex lmao sure buddy
All is cool but when you run along the river before you meet the giant hands, you will be blocked from moving forward, IF the doors to shaemoor is not open yet. This loophole has already been patched long ago. Once the door is open you can reach the hands. It is unlikely the devs unpatch this. So you still need a bit of luck if you want to waltz directly to boss.
Nope. If you are in the water nearest the hillside going up to the hands when the cutscene occurs, you will be taken along and exit the tutorial.
So much time ... now count how much money can you get irl using that time, and how much keys would you be able to buy just from the shop. This is nonsense people are wasting their time like this.
it's 30min.... dude what ?
@@zearcjustice7837 Let's do some simple maths:
- You can buy 25 keys for 2100 gems. This makes 2100 / 25 = 84 gems per key
- Gem ratio is $1.25 / 100 gems, making it 0,0125$ per gem
- This way 1 key costs 0,0125 * 84 = 1,05$
Assuming this scheme in the video you get 1 key per 30 mins, you are selling your time at a rate of 2,1$ an hour. Considering you've got PC able to run GW2, money to buy the game itself and time to play it, your per hour income must be much higher than that.
In comparison, dish washer in US gets around 10$ an hour. So, being absolutely useless society unit with no skills, you can do these keys AT LEAST 5 times faster by going to the actual job, than farming it (which is practically is the worst kind of a job, it's a routine of doing the same thing over and over again. It's like being a conveyor worker). And what if you are actually skilled in something and get paid better?
@@ElaraMorwen have to agree to this. While not spending money and farming in a very efficient manner certainly will appeal to a group of players, I do think in general, Alexander's argument here appeals to most players better. As someone else has mentioned, time is very precious, and we only live for so long. If you do want to enjoy the game and care about the keys that much, just pay some real $$ to buy the keys, then move on, it's also a way to give back to the devs for creating this game. There's no right or wrong answer here, only different take on the same subject.
It's much more efficient to work IRL and pay with $$, then to farm gold/farm keys repetitively with little entertainment value. Of course if you are one of those people who find these kind of repetitive grind to be enjoyable, then more power to you.
@@ElaraMorwen $2/h is decent money outside of the first world
@@etofok it's nothing for a person that can afford a 1000$+ PC to run GW2
Instead of this boring and very inefficient farming (f. E. Using XP scrolls that u can better use for ghostshards) just run riba, change gold to crystals and buy keys.
But there's another question.: why do u need keys? I don't need them
BOXES
but thats less time efficient !!!!!
Both ways are crap. Just get a better paying job or learn to make real money faster. 10 bucks is 800 gems, 25 keys is like 2100 gems. 25 keys would take you what? 25 weeks at 30mins a week? So 1 key is say 30mins of playing, when you could make money in that 30mins to buy even more keys.
@@maozhong88 Tell me how? Ill be thankfull my hole life if you tell me how to get a good job. Just like ppl 30 years ago had.
