The Japanese erasers aren't actually meant to be used as dice, each side of the eraser is a different thickness and the numbers correspond to that, so you use them when you want to erase a line of a specific width. There's no harm to using them as dice though I suppose :)
Oh man, I really want an audiobook narrated by Tim. At the very least a short bedtime story. His voice is so gentle and soothing. Some unintentional ASMR type jawn.
6:07 the solution to that trick is that you add the last digits together (this gives the last two digits of the sum) and subtract it from 50 (this gives the first two digits of the sum). For instance, the numbers on the table are 681, 657, 971, 543 and 960. You add the last digit of each number: 1+7+1+3+0=12. Then you subtract it from 50: 50-12=38. So the sum of those numbers is 3812.
It's German. On the box it says 'Blitz Rechner -- das Würfelspiel zum Jahr der Mathematik' Blitz = flash, lightning and Rechner = calculator Roughly translated : Fast Calculator -- the dice game for the Year of Mathematics (which was 2008 in Germany)
The 100-sided "golf ball" is sometimes called a "Zocchihedron" after Lou Zocchi, its creator and another well-known dice and game enthusiast. I'd love to send Tim several kinds for his collection, like the wrought-metal dice with intricate Celtic knot patterns, the gemstone dice you roll instead of toss, the Dungeon Dice with faces that, when thrown and stacked together, form a tiny contiguous dungeon level, and the single massive die that rolls any dX spread from d2 to d30. They'd blow his mind.
I imagine his home with 70s or early 80s furniture with a boxed shaped t.v and floral wall paper with tea whistling on the stove with a bunch of gadget toys from around the world on his coffee table
I still prefer D100, it takes longer to roll so it builds tension. Also we don't use it that often so you know shit got serious when GM says "grab the big one".
Playing a game that uses a d100 system (Rogue Trader, Dark Heresy and the other 40k games) using that dice would take forever, so I think two d10s works fine! :)
You forgot a dice. There was a brown dice somewhere at the front. It included just the normal dots like a normal dice, but the dots were not it their usual pattern, more to say, scrambled.
Pewdiepie may have 30 million subs. But I guarantee he is not even 1/100th of those people's favorite channel. Tim has 200K and I bet more than half consider this their favorite channel.
So you have to take into consideration who has more REAL fans. Like if I met Pewdiepie, I might be starstruck only because he's so popular but in reality, I wouldn't value his input on anything other than gaming. If I met Tim, I would honestly want to hear what he said about things because he would have a unique perspective given the fact that he collects all sorts of toys. A man like that has to have a child's imagination mixed with the wisdom of an old kung fu master type guy.
LoneSoul0742 My nephew is into watching that. Who wants to watch somebody else play the game? Whenever I had to take turns with my friends on the SNES or N64, I would constantly be saying things like, "Oh you better give me the controller because this part's really hard."

Another entertaining video, love all the little bits and bobs you have. The two rubbers tho are not dice, they are meant for artists to use, different grades of thickness to each number.
I have one of those spherical dice somewhere, they're really interesting. Although it's kind of hard to throw though, because the ball bearing usually stays in one place due to its weight.
When I was a kid, we had this great little toy to use with board games that required players to roll two dice. It was a little plastic thing shaped like a sort of squashed ball standing on a pair of feet. The upper half was a clear dome. Inside the dome was a pair of little dice on a flat surface. To roll he dice, the player would push the ball down until a tiny suction cup on the bottom stuck to the feet. There was some kind of spring mechanism inside that caused the suction cup to pull away after about one second. The thing would pop up, flip over in the air and land on its feet. When it came to rest, you could read the dice. Our parents made us use it to play board games because we often tended to throw too hard resulting in dice rolling off the table and getting lost. I don't know what happened to the little thing. It's either packed away in a box in a closet or got sold at a yard sale.
At 7:31, those strangely shaped dice look to me like asymmetric trigonal trapezohedrons. I have a few myself. They are isohedral, meaning the faces are the same, and although they look partly melted or uneven because they are symmetrical in fewer ways, they have enough symmetries to roll fairly.
6:46 I think those are for erasing horizontally with different heighted lines. They are still advertised and sold today. And you use the pointed one for fine details.
3:49 On today’s episode of Math Trivia with Tim, we learn that 100 is, in fact, the highest number. Tune in next time, folks, for some prime late-night math fun!
Tim, I think you missed some of the dice. On 1:00, there is a die with its dots randomly placed and another one that doesn't look like a cube at all. There is even a bag of smaller colored dice there. How did you miss them?
you should get a rpg dice set too, with 6,8,12 and 20 faces =] there's a lot of designs, some are made of metal or semi precious stones, quite intresting to a collection
