    We went nuts when they slowed stopped that scene where Captain America blocked Ironman’s blast. That’s the comic book cover for Civil War.

      Only partially
      The full cover has them fighting on top of unconscious heroes in the middle of New York, not in a bunker

    I still love that the shot of Captain America using his shield to block Iron Man's repulsors is taken straight from the "Civil War" comic book cover.

    I'm surprised at the number of people who actually thought Cap would've gone for the kill in that final blow. Steve wouldn't do that.

      John wouldnt have found out his best friend murdered the parents of this other friend while working with them years after and never telling him. He woud have told him cuz hes more honest than STOLEN VALOR steve. Im pretty sure John wouldnt have defended a serial killer who should be either executed or put in a super max prison for life he got the complexion for the protection. Why are u mad John killed terrorist u do know thats what those pieces of crap flag smashers were right say it with me THEY WERE TERRORISTS who loved what Thanos did and who were going to release a bioweapon to really kill half of the world and falcon was still going to defend those terrorist to John a real hero who has three Medals Of Honor who didnt need ped's to get them like stolen valor steve.

    I think Dasha of Russia had the best reaction. This fight wasn't "Hey, I'm on so-and-so's team!" It was tragic. Its was heroic good guys vs heroic good guys, because they had all been manipulated either by Hydra (in its programming of the Winter Soldier) and Zemo. It was the most vengeful of the bunch that came to his senses at the last minute (T'Challa).

  • @taniafontana
    @taniafontana День тому +2

    Oh yeah, ngl, Dasha and Diegesis - that was literally me watching this heartbreaking scene. 💔🤧
    I can see where both Steve and Tony were coming from (I mean, that WAS the point of the whole movie), but gotta admit T'Challa was the wisest of them all. Wise wise King. ❤️

  • @logandarklighter
    @logandarklighter 4 дні тому +18

    In the moment you understand Tony - and Steve. Tony's not RIGHT exactly. But you can absolutely see where he's coming from. Steve's not exactly right. But you understand where he's coming from. Mistakes were made. And Zemo manipulated them right where it hurt the most.
    Steve I think proves himself by not giving in to any anger. He goes only for the incapacitating blows, including JUST hitting the arc reactor in the end. But Tony knows where to hurt Steve the most too. By invoking his father - who Steve really respected.
    This fight HURTS to watch. Even for those of us who can appreciate the spectacle of it. The fight at the airport was fun. But THIS is definitely NOT fun.
    This is about as close as Marvel ever got to the sense of tragedy that Lucas evoked with Anakin's fall. But this is much more "Grey" all around. This is not good vs evil. This is a friendship destroyed for reasons that are all too clear. It would take until Endgame for them to patch things. And arguably "The Snap" happened because Tony and Steve - and the Avengers - were fractured.
    Zemo got what he wanted. Of all the Marvel villains, he's the only one who truly beat them.

      Captain America was wrong. He knew what happened to Tony’s parents and lied and covered it up. You can’t claim to be someone’s friend and do that to them. In the movies Steve has always let his friendship for Bucky blind him. No matter what Bucky does or who he kills he always gets a pass. Steve has even sided with Bucky over Sam.

    • @JamailvanWestering

      No this whole entire movie, there’s only 1 side at fault. It’s Tony’s.
      Had Steve not interfered, Crossbones would have had acces to a biological weapon.
      The incident that started this off is a weak argument for oversight, given that the alternative would have been far worse.
      Most of the incidents that were called for by Ross were weak arguments for oversight against the Avengers.

      @@JamailvanWestering the avengers caused as much damage and chaos as most villains. Oversight was needed and warranted. The avengers had no authority to go into Sovereign Nations and exercise their authority. Steve’s argument is flawed.

    • @JamailvanWestering
      @JamailvanWestering 2 дні тому

      @@stevenjohnson3786 they didn’t… the only one that needed oversight was Tony because of his reckless behavior.
      With oversight Crossbones would have gotten away faster…
      Hate to break it to ya but sometimes people get hurt or even worse and while that’s sad, it would have far been worse with the alternative because the enemies would have gotten BWOMDs.
      To quote Spock:” The needs of the many, outweighs the needs of the few.”
      There’s literally nothing that oversight would change in that regard

    Tony was emotionally compromised. He was filled with rage. Steve shouldn’t have waited so long to tell Tony what happened. Certainly not with Bucky present. But by this point it was too late. They played right into Zemo’s hands.
    Steve was also full of rage. But thankfully something stopped him from committing murder when he had the upper hand. This was ugly to watch. It left a very bad taste in my mouth. Their eventual reconciliation was a relief.

    Steve Rogers choose to lie (by omission) to Tony Stark because a part of him didn't want to face the reality of the truth either. It's questionable whether Steve actually knew it was Bucky that killed Stark's parents.

      I would imagine brainwashing is a tricky legal matter, even in the comics. Trying to determine true intent and the amount of control an individual has over their actions while under such intense mental conditioning would be tricky. Just because Bucky remembered all his kills does not mean he willingly carried all of them out.

      He needed somebody to restrain him until the initial wave of grief and anger passed. He’d still be UBER pissed at Cap for lying to him, but he’s smart enough he’d eventually understand that Bucky was brainwashed and not acting of his own volition, even if Bucky did remember killing his parents.

      Bro… first off, Bucky was literally mind controlled. He did not want or have control over the things that he did. Second, did you forget the part of the movie where they explained that Zemo framed him for the UN bombing? Steve was defending his friend who was going to potentially be executed over crimes he wasn’t mentally capable of committing without literally brainwashing him.

  • @jasongivens6749
    @jasongivens6749 2 дні тому +1

    Tony created Ultron. Ultron killed thousands. Tony walked away without answering for what he did. No jail time, no massive lawsuits, no guilt. But he thinks he has the right to kill a mind control victim for something he had absolutely no control over. Tony should be spending the rest of his life in prison for what Ultron did. How many mothers are dead because of Tony?

    • @Taco-e2e
      @Taco-e2e День тому

      You could argue that Wanda was responsible. She compromised Tony’s mind leading to Ultrons creation. Although it’s not exactly the same, they both had been mentally compromised.
