Interestingly, the writers didn't make that part. Tom Holland suggested it because he felt that Spiderman would hold on longer than everyone else and feel it coming. Brilliant bit of knowing your character.
the one thing i remember is how the theater was utterly SILENT. not one peep was made while everyone disappeared. the hopelessness the heroes felt in the aftermath, steve's final words being "oh god." nothing can replicate that moment
Saw it opening night in the theater. The audience was in utter shock at this scene, with muffled sobs and cries heard from all sides. My teenage daughters went catatonic for 5 minutes, couldn't talk or blink. Complete and total gut punch, killing off favorite characters. The MCU at its finest. Cinematic masterpiece. I had read ahead of time in movie news that the characters being killed off had signed contracts for Endgame, so I knew they would come back somehow in the next movie. Sharing this news with my daughters was the only way to talk them out of their shock.
I don't care how many times I've seen this movie, Tom Holland's performance as Peter Parker is excellent, and his "disintigration" scene after the snap still has me tearing up.
It was an improv that the him and Downey Jr. came up with. Holland used an acting technique for emotional scenes where he would repeat the characters strongest feeling in his head until he was in the right emotional state of mind to act the scene. For this, he was thinking "I don't want to go" and suggested using it for the scene. The rest is cinematic history.
@@Jagernotty I remember hearing this. Plus, it kind of makes sense in the context of the character. His spider sense would probably let him know something was wrong before his body could feel it. So he'd essentially have more time to say all that. even though everybody else pretty much died instantly
I thing I noticed with a lot of reactors, and including myself at the time is when Thor damages Thanos and everyone is like “Where were you Thor?!?”. Just remember, Thor came to the battle directly from Nidavellir, and he didn’t have a ear piece, so he would have never heard Cap say “We have incoming”. Why was Groot & Rocket there if they didn’t have an ear piece? It’s because they were already on the ground and following. Rocket probably followed Bucky because he wanted to steal his arm or gun 😂
Another thing.. while Thanos said you should have gone for the head.. you could see Thor get distracted by what he meant by that and in that same second is when Thanos snaps, meaning he acted when Thor was distracted
EVERYBODY who saw this in theaters knows what I'm about to mention; remember walking out and the whole line of people waiting to go in saw our faces walking out? Like, us in the theater, us strangers all bonded because when it started, we all shut the fuck up and looked at each other for help. So, when that eager line of people saw us all walk out of a literal funeral, their faces dropped so hard it was remarkable.
Anyone involved in these films should be incredibly proud of what they accomplished. People knock the MCU for not being "real movies" but all you have to do is watch the connection these viewers and millions others had because of the connection the the characters. I dont think we'll ever see a large scale effort like this again but I am surely thankful I was alive for it. It was an amazing experience in the theater and coupled with Endgame is probably the greatest ending to a series I've ever seen. Well done.
100% people have already tried to make other “universes” and they suck. Marvel built these characters and movies over a decade all to this conclusion. That’s why marvel sucks now. There’s zero direction. Where this was building 2008-2019 all the way to Thanos. It was awesome and the character development was awesome. There’s no way they can do it again.
I will never forget this scene in the theater. You could hear a pin drop! When the audience realized what was happening, you could hear people weeping.
T'Challa's death hits differently now after Mr. Boseman is gone. Beside the little bit of dialogue and action during the final battle in Endgame, this was his swan song for portraying the character.
The ENTIRE theater wept, openly and unabashedly. We left the theater and everyone was sobbing. Two 16-ish old boys came out in front of us, angrily slammed and stuffed their cups and garbage into the trash can, wiping away tears and muttering, "Oh my god, I hated that. It was incredible." 😅
I wish I could go back to experience this scene in the theaters for the first time again. The utter shock and bone chilling silence in my theater is something that can’t be replicated.
Then even while everyone left the theater it was still quiet. We all walked passed the next groups waiting outside to see the movie and our entire theater crowd still didnt say a word about what had just happened. I wonder if our silence was a scary indication of what would happen for those people we walked by.

I think an interesting story telling opportunity was missed by dusting Quill. Imagine the torment he would have felt knowing half the universe died because he couldn't control his self. That would have been brutal. They could have done scenes with Rocket blaming him then forgiving him. Just a thought..
Agreed. Or Dr Strange surviving and feeling the same amount of torment for not using the time stone to reverse time and stop Quill from losing his cool, or just freezing time while Thanos was sedated (for lack of a better term) and taking the gauntlet off himself. Or Wanda surviving and being tormented that she didn't put her selfish desires for Vis above the survival of the universe and destroy the mind stone when she had the chance. Cap says "we don't trade lives" regarding destroying the mind stone, but what's one life (Vis) when measured against half the universe? People always blame Quill for the outcome but the blame can be shared amongst several characters who could have shaped the outcome before Peter lost his cool.

So thor would live with his failure 2. because dr strange begged for him to spare stark… Which was his own downfall or maybe he was then it was just chance tony didn’t get blipped and if he did the time module would have taken an extra 5 to 10 years to achieve that is if it was poss without tony
As someone that was raised on Marvel comic books, I knew Thanos was going to win and I was laughing in the theater as everyone freaked out when people started disappearing!
I've worked it out, obviously thanos needed to get all the stones for there to be a movie, but without the time stone, which he couldn't have gotten without Dr.Strange. he wouldn't have been able to get the mind stone after it was destroyed, also sacrificing nebula and possibly herself, without Gamora he never would have gotten the soul stone. so that's 3 stones that he never would have gotten.

Half of the universe dosent mean half of a certain group, it could even wipe out entire Planets. even if it says hallo the people, all Heros could be on the dying side. There yiu have it. I hope this makes sense, english is my third language and my skills are rusty
"This is no place to die"
*_*DIES*_*
The snap of the greatest DC universe, the Snyderverse. WB's incompetent new regime and three hyenas in charge. DCU=DOA.
Did this first guy not understand the basic premise of the entire movie?
I gotta say if you don’t follow marvel and You know Chadwick died in real life, you would think none of them ppl coming back.
Don’t know who the girl is at 9:21 but she clearly doesn’t have a clue what’s happening and is just watching it for content
In Spanish, it's pronounced
"El Snap-o"...
Addie ❤
Did NONE of these people watch the movie in a theater... like everyone else in humanity?
Thanos wasn’t fair with his snap, he kept thor and iron man for 2 reasons:
1. So thor would live with his failure
2. because dr strange begged for him to spare stark…
Which was his own downfall
or maybe he was then it was just chance tony didn’t get blipped and if he did the time module would have taken an extra 5 to 10 years to achieve that is if it was poss without tony
Imagine if thanos dusted himself in the snap I feel like he couldn't complain with it either lol
@@Venemofthe888He did make himself an exception so nobody could pick up the gauntlet and undo what he had just done.
The last ones are so strange and unsettling.
I updated the video based on feedback 🙂
Not the head…he shoulda went 4 the HAND…🤷🏾♂️
As someone that was raised on Marvel comic books, I knew Thanos was going to win and I was laughing in the theater as everyone freaked out when people started disappearing!
I've worked it out, obviously thanos needed to get all the stones for there to be a movie, but without the time stone, which he couldn't have gotten without Dr.Strange. he wouldn't have been able to get the mind stone after it was destroyed, also sacrificing nebula and possibly herself, without Gamora he never would have gotten the soul stone. so that's 3 stones that he never would have gotten.
Now you have to do the other side. "Cap.. on your left"
