The guy to your right had the show of a lifetime! Can't imagine what he would have done without you there. First Class, top noche on Lufthansa. I've flown first class once in my life and it was the most wonderful experience ever. Although it was an overnight flight, I stayed up the entire time to get every perk available and I'm glad I did. The service, amenities, food, booze, Galley full of snacks, constant attention was incredible! Most everyone in First Class was sleeping which I found a total waste of the flight price. No way was I going to sleep and miss out on the luxury! I thoroughly enjoyed your vlog and as a new subscriber, look forward to more vlogs.
I like how the whole time we see the other passenger he is just smiling ear to ear. Which he knows Josh is filming and its just his way of letting us know “everything this man is saying about this flight is correct. I mean look how happy i am.” hahaha love the vids.
That gent next to you, staring at your table the whole time is a great added value! he looks mega-chilled. I'm not sure I would like to be filmed during my flight. I know what I look like slumped in my seat after a few too many champers.
I miss Lufthansa . They used to fly to Australia more than 30 years ago. The cabin crew was amazing even back then as I had such bad morning sickness and they looked after me with peppermint tea without me even asking. Your review reminded me . So sad they stopped flying here.
If you look at one point it's pretty clear that someone else is holding the camera for Josh. I have a feeling we know who that was. It's only on one or two shots but it's there
Your energy and enthusiasm are contagious. Now I have to fly the 747-800 someday, preferably Lufthansa, preferably first class. Keep up the great work!
Hey Josh, I get emotional watching your reviews for Lufthansa. I moved to America when I was 6 from Germany but flew back and forth via Lufthansa every summer into my early 20's. I loved every aspect of flying from being at the international airports and seeing all the different people flying and wondering where they were going. I loved the take off's and landings (even though that is the most dangerous part) I liked to movies, the smiling flight attendants, the soothing voice of the Captain and on and on. However in my 20's I developed a phobia of flying, now it seems to be around turbulence. I so want to take my kids to Germany to show them where I grew up, I am planning for next May. You seem so comfortable with turbulence...is there anything that makes you nervous? Great video's, you are living my dream. I don't blame the guy for watching you lol...you provided much needed inflight entertainment I'm sure.
I recommend flying the 747-8 for the ultimate nostalgia! Plus, splurging for first class (or using miles) on the return leg and using the private terminal at Frankfurt is guranteed to be amazing!
I remember when I flew, the feeling of being pushed into my seat by the acceleration of the engines before take off. No one mentions it, but I loved it lol. I love your videos, you're so polite and friendly with everyone, and I appreciate your honest reviews.
Josh, thank you for bringing the joys of flight and travelling the world to those of us who still can't due to the pandemic! So happy for you! As always, fantastic video! Stay safe!
Loved the video Josh, you were really having fun and it was great to see. You always make it seem like the viewer is travelling along with you! I’m currently isolating while getting over COVID-19, so this really cheered me up today! Thanks X
Hi Josh I am recovering from an intricate spinal surgery in January and last week I decided to try your posts. Never expected to still be watching you and enjoying your content. Thank you for entertaining me
Great review Josh. I too, had the Lufthansa 747-8 on my bucket list and two years ago I ticked it off and flew New York to Frankfurt on the mighty Queen of the Skies. Actually, my 11 y.o. daughter and I were on our world trip less than a year after we lost our Mum/wife. I specifically routed our trip to NYC (which was amazing) to take this flight and this aircraft. My only regret was we took the overnight flight as, like yourself, I totally enjoy the experience of the flight and we were upstairs in Business, so felt a little cheated they seemed to rush the service to get everyone settled down to sleep. (Later we had a similar experience in Business on a Singapore Airlines A380 (good but not a 747), Singapore to Sydney so it's not the airline, just the timing I think). It was only a 7 or 8 hour flight so lesson learnt, we'll be on a daytime flight next time. Thanks so much for sharing, I really enjoyed your video.
Absolutely loved the review! I really love Lufthansa for having the latest version of the Queen in service as I’m a big fan of the 747. Great product, great review.
I love your honest reviews on every flights that you experienced. If it’s good then you compliment then and if it’s not good then you criticise them not to put them down but for them to improve… good job Josh. Love from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Definitely an amazing Flight and shows just how Lufthansa can be a 5* airline when it wants to be! They just need to sort the other aspects of the service to make whole experience better for all! Looking forward to the Tunis Air video, especially after the last flight with them. ✈️
Josh, This is BY FAR the best and most heartfelt review on air travel I have seen so far. Thank you very much ! Getting ready to fly Lufthansa First from SFO to FRA today ... second time we do this after 8 years ... Your video was a wonderful reminder of the fun !! Happy Holidays, Mark & Gabi 🥰
Through your airline reviews Josh, we sitting at home feel delighted and can also cherish those moments you spend during flight. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us.
I've flown the Lufthansa 748 in business class on the upper deck. It's definitely top 5 of my flying experience, not necessarily for the hard product, but the soft product and the aircraft itself. I hope I can experience it on Korean Air or Air China before these wonderful birds leave the sky for good.
Awww the other passenger seems entertained and really sweet, I’d love to get a fellow passenger like that, unfortunately they always seat me next to the weirdos who just want to hit on me or talk non stop from London to Bangkok (even when I was pretending to be asleep)! Nightmare 😂😂😂
Lufthansa ❤ I flew coach from Newark New Jersey to Duesseldorf (Castrop-Raxuel) in 2017. I Absolutely loved the flight, the food and the service was excellent ❤️
This was amazing! Thank you for showing this part of your life and this experience. Part of my dream and life as an AVGEEK is to fly LH First. I got lucky once - I was flying UA from ICN-ORD back before UA got rid of the 747's. Didn't have status with UA, but they upgraded me to First - Seat 1A. Had no clue until boarding - scanned my boarding pass and it errored out. I was so surprised. It would be cool to see you or meet up with you one day on a flight. Looking forward to your next video.
Josh, this was one of your best vids! I felt like I was sharing the cabin with you on your own private biz jet (Gulfstream G6?) Can't wait for your return flight.
Flown once first class London to San Juan on the 747, its was nothing like that Josh. I do remember thinking I must seem quite unusual to be in first class. Most of the passengers slept and lolled after dinner, my wife and I just kept eating and drinking. I think the lady who looking after us quite enjoyed the fact we were obviously not regulars. She made blood mary's most of the flight. It was amazing, the actual flight one way was more than our week cruise.
I’ve always wondered whether a seat in the nose on the 747 would be a bumpy ride... now I know! You’re such a lucky bugger, Josh. The curse of the near empty cabin - the other passenger in First couldn’t take his eyes off you, & your presentation 😂!
Great video! I once got to travel Lufthansa First on the 747-400. At that time First was upstairs. My return trip was on the A340-600. Me and my partner were the only passengers. It was such an amazing experience!
Could I ever justify the cost of First Class (even if I could afford it!) - no way; would I love to experience it at least once - you bet I would! I loved the way the crew set up spare seats as beds for each of you, so you could just move for a sleep or a nap without having to re-arrange your allocated seat. I also think I prefer the idea of a seat privacy screen which can disappear, giving you a more airy cabin rather than being cocooned in a (admittedly luxurious) pod, yet can be raised to give additional privacy if required.
My last 747 flight was on Qantas to Japan. I don’t know, but when I fly 1st class I prefer a cabin with its own door rather than just seat with a divider. A shower before landing is also nice.
Wow, what a dream come true! I've bee trying to get on a 747 for a while now but they are so rare nowadays. I was surprised to see that LH flew a 748 to MEX but glad to see them using their larger planes.
The other passenger traveling with you was a champ!!! In comparison to some of your other flight adventures, I hope you fly more like this one maximizing your travel in the lap of luxury.
I know that covid has put restrictions on alot of flights. But I think, in this case, your flight in first class is extra special being that I see only the two of you in this class. Making up a bed without disrupting your seat seems like having a separate bedroom too. You may never see this opportunity again. Congratulations, Josh.
Since flying business/first class I’ve only wanted to fly during the day. When I was in high school I worked during the summers at Kennedy airport delivering duty free liquor to the planes. It was sometime between 1967 or 1968 when the first 744 started flying. They were amazing with lounges on the top floor and such varieties on all the different national airlines. For many years I would try to book my flights on 744’s. I found it the best ride of all jets that I’ve flown. Love your commentaries/videos.
I realize I am over a year late in watching your fine video on Lufthansa but being an 86-year-old nearly isolated living in Texas I've become hooked on your adventures. Particularly intrigued here on the Korean crew on a flight to Mexico City. In the meantime I'll continue to play catchup on your posts. Cheers from Houston.
I'd personally like a "best of both worlds" with the first-class experience. On one hand, I'd love to experience and savour everything, but on the other hand, I'd also love to check out their beds.
Stuff of my dreams! (Got to fly in a 747 only once, two and a half decades ago, but 'twas a memorable experience!)...A decent, respectful and honest flight review. Inspiring words as well, Josh!
I love the retro 747-8. I try and avoid Frankfurt airport where possible though. Going through customs there is such a poor first impression of Germany for millions of people every year. There you will meet the coldest, most sour employees on the planet………..I swear they even enjoy watching the queues build up….
So many are complaining about the "old" hardware, in business as well as first class, in Lufthansa airplanes. But as always, it is the combination of superb service and the hard product which counts!
In October 2019 flew First Class for first time. It was return to Shanghai from London via Munich one way and Frankfurt the other. Cost £1,800 each which I thought was very good value. Also we had 1A and 2A in nose of the 747. Incredible experience. Flight was late coming back to Frankfurt for our connection to London, so the two of us were met by the famous Porsche and driven to our departure gate just in time for the flight.
@@400workout They were a special offer advertised in the UK earlier in 2019. Not sure what was the airline rationale at the time. But for the next few years, I think these fares are long gone. Incidentally, in April this year I flew BA First Class for the approximately same return fare, London to San Francisco. But this was booked a year in advance during the Covid time when airlines were desperate for an inflow of cash.
Epic indeed! In the 1980's I worked systems production support on the 747 skins production and a full reorganization of the 747 parts inventory. My most epic flight in my life was on a 747 from Los Angeles California (LAX) to Bali Indonesia with all of 20 passengers on board for the entire flight with a stop over in Honolulu and Biak to refuel apparently. Needless to say no seat assignment. It turned out the other passengers were all travel agents given a free trip to Bali to promote the island.
Hey Josh. I’ve also flown in the nose of a 747… 400, not 800 with Delta Air Lines from NRT to TPE and also on the way back. I loved your video of your trip from FRA to MEX on LH and would love to have a memory stick. Cheers!
It was a real pleasure to see this video! I forgot my problems and it made me feel so happy! Thanks a lot it looks amazing and the man beside you looks sympathetic
Thank you so much for thanking the people who are watching your You tube Videos !!! You have brought our homes the experience you have had in these airplanes in different classes which we can only dream of !!! Thank you so much for doing so !!!
Great First Class experience on the nose of a Lufthansa 747. I had a spectacular similar flight experience on the nose of a United 747 years ago sipping Dom Perignon from NY all the way to Bangkok via Narita and back to NY through Hong Kong. I feel for your traveling companion, you yapping all the way and clowning around on your slippers. Well... you were having lots of fun. Next time take your nephew along... Happy travels..... 👍
In June I flew Lufthansa business SFO- FRA and I was as giddy as you were, I had never flown in that class prior. I was able to upgrade since the plane was not full. It has ruined me, I don’t think I can ever go back to economy. That was the shortest 11 hour flight I was ever on, I didn’t want it to end. I love Lufthansa!
I'm happy for you, flying first class on 747-8 is my dream too! Great amenities, amazing food, great view of the Arctic as well. The fact that there were only 2 of you makes the first class cabin looks spacious. Imagine if you are the only person on first class that day :D Considering that we are at the end of the 4 jet engine era, not many opportunities to fly on a 747. I'm excited to try flying on 777-9 (when it is available) considered to be a 747 replacement.
So glad you can check off something of a dream flight of your bucket list! So few people ever realize that getting to your destination is part of the adventure! Loved the video, keep up the great content!
I love your videos, i have only flew once in my life from Johannesburg to Cape Town and when i watch your videos it feels like im right there with you. Big bucket list for me flying international
I've flown Lufthansa a few times. Most recently we flew from Istanbul to NYC, economy. Was fine. The service was typically unfriendly, a bit grumpy. But we already expected that having flown it before. It didn't bother me. Nice to hear the first class experience is much better.
Ok this is my favorite video yet! The guy in the back ground, watching him is hilarious. Priceless! Also this is a great informational video on thier 1st class product. Well done!!
Hey Josh, been watching u for a while and I am so mad the days that I am not aware of you. Quite enjoyable videos having fun all the way through to the last seconds. Keep up the good work, you are loved!!
Josh: This brought me back to the 1970’s when as far as I can remember I somehow ended up in first class upstairs on a 747. I think it was Northwest Orient from Seattle to Anchorage.
Great review Josh!!! Like you, I had the great opportunity to fly in the front and first class to meet my boyfriend in Amsterdam, but in KLM. I didn't buy first class but in Mexico City, considering that I had just broken my leg, the pretty and wonderful girl in the desk with the name of Regina, picked up the phone and worked hard in the computer and when I was moved in a wheel chair to the plane, in front of the door, now with crutches, then I was welcomed by the crew and they insisted that I should not go to the left, but to the right, to first class (business class in KLM)... it was amazing and a wonderful reward... after flying KLM several times (economy) since I was 17. I have the little liquour bottles they give in first class.
Please support my work on www.patreon.com/joshcahill - thanks ❤️Next weeks video: Tunisair!

Im German and I agree 100%
Try Munich airport! I'm sure you'll like it. :)

So many are complaining about the "old" hardware, in business as well as first class, in Lufthansa airplanes. But as always, it is the combination of superb service and the hard product which counts!
Lol no. Lufthansa is 3 star airline.
@@johnboz8087 it is rated 5 stat, but in my opinion it does not deserve it, 4 stars max

Where did you get those airfare prices? Please advise. Greetings from USA
747 the queen of the skies is the best passenger plane ever!
One more aviator has completed his dream of flying on a Queen in seat 1A! Hopefully we all get a chance !
I just love how interested the guy is on your filming and all. Great vid!
What a trip of a lifetime. Glad I got to enjoy it with you! Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
Bless you for managing to be so authentic and communicating that so well with the viewers. Masterfully made. Vielen vielen Dank!
So grateful to be part of your travels and I hope I get to travel soon to my motherland that I haven't been to for 9 years.✈
One of Your best videos for my taste! Thank You and have a very Happy New Year 2023!
Hey Josh. I’ve also flown in the nose of a 747… 400, not 800 with Delta Air Lines from NRT to TPE and also on the way back. I loved your video of your trip from FRA to MEX on LH and would love to have a memory stick. Cheers!
2021 we are ticking off stuff from the bucket list. Good for you Josh
It was a real pleasure to see this video! I forgot my problems and it made me feel so happy! Thanks a lot it looks amazing and the man beside you looks sympathetic
Oh Josh - Your dream came through flying in the nose of the B747-800 - Felt so special not being a full cabin -Love it lots!!!
Imagine if you are the only person on first class that day :D
Considering that we are at the end of the 4 jet engine era, not many opportunities to fly on a 747.
Another entertaining and unbiased review. Keep up the good work Josh. 🍻
I've flown Lufthansa a few times. Most recently we flew from Istanbul to NYC, economy. Was fine. The service was typically unfriendly, a bit grumpy. But we already expected that having flown it before. It didn't bother me. Nice to hear the first class experience is much better.
I am very glad you got to experience this, Josh, and glad you’re sharing it. This IS my sole bucket list item.
Ok this is my favorite video yet! The guy in the back ground, watching him is hilarious. Priceless! Also this is a great informational video on thier 1st class product. Well done!!
Wonderful review and great to see the attitude of gratitude. Really happy you got to do this :)
Looks so much fun. And love the slightly slanting seats due to the curve of the fuselage.
I'm with you Josh, daytime flight to enjoy the full service of the flight beats out any night time flight. Love it!!
I loved this video. Can’t wait to see more. ✈️
I flew first class on a 747-400, seat 1A on Northwest Airlines (now Delta). What a smooth ride.
YOUR SMILE says it all!! What an amazing flight
