And the pilot monitoring was very keen, attentive and sharp to quickly notice it and notify the pilot flying. Importance of CRM in terms of ensuring Flight Safety. I just loved that one
@@mrcannotfindaname maybe but the lanyard is customisable /i saw other pilot with different lanyard example ,captain boeing has a pan am lanyard , the PF could also be a 777 pilot as you can land 777 with autotrust on and the PM say to the PF " this one have 4 " refering to the engine

It is a 747-400 and some -400s are not supposed to be landed with autothrottles. As far as I know Boeings that are able to land with autothrottles on has a function where the thrust is idled at around 25ft. In the video, the autothrottles remained on SPD mode and it actually tried to increase the speed back to approach speed by increasing the throttles when the pilot tried to idle the thrust. You might have also noticed speed brakes stowing as soon the as thrust levers moved forward. So, may be this particular 747-400 does not have that option. I am not sure why the pilots tried to land with autothrottles though. It is similar to Airbus. In Airbus aircraft, even when you land with autothrust, the idling of thrust has to be done manually by the pilot. If this is not done, the aircraft will keep the thrust to maintain approach speed.

I fly a similar aircraft in the left hand seat. One of my worries in life is that I’ll encounter a problem with my annual 1st class medical and lose my ability to provide for my family. However when I see the physical state of these two captains, especially the guy in the right seat my worries dissolve. Thank you. 😀
Fantastic video! As a kid, I hung around the airport fences in Hamburg, Germany, spotting airplanes, whenever I had time, and this is exactly where Lufthansa Technics fitted the cabins of many of the world's VIP airplanes. It's a childhood dream coming true to see the inside of one and fly a 747 VIP (at least virtually). ;-) Thanks for taking us along, Sam!

PF deployed Eng TR 2&3, then TR 1&4. Since the PF is wearing Airbus lanyard, deploying only TR 2&3 makes me think he is A380 pilot.
