      I had one as a boy as well 😅 so much fun. It was on the back of the shed door.
      I'm sure I would have only been about 10 years old.
      I still remember all the holes in the door, made it look like wood worms had a go at it 😂

      Thanks Teresa ☺️ I must admit, it's not my favorite job to do as I prefer working with green things that grow 😂 but I find it essential to lower the amount of regular maintenance. Plus, Frank gets a clear and less slippy walkway.
      Thanks (as always) for your super lovely and encouraging comments 😊

    Frank was born the same year as my dad. It's so nice to hear his voice. My dad was a gentleman, too. Frank's generation is a blessing. His garden is so beautiful. I'm glad you're sprucing it up as you can tell, he is quite the gardener himself. Please wish him the best, from 🇨🇦 🍁

    More than just 'gardening'.
    For the planting, maybe a couple of dwarf rootstock fruit trees. For example, a double grafted apple, 1 cooking and 1 eating. The other either a plum or pear, whichever the owner prefers. And then a mix of veg and herbs with flowering perennials for the pollinators.

    • @martinthegardenguy
      @martinthegardenguy  6 місяців тому

      I love how your suggestions are always edible 😂 a woman after my own heart 😁 you've made me think, with the herbs, though. Great idea, even if he's not overly bothered about using them. I find they add a lot to a garden regardless.
      I dream of being self-sufficient on fruit and veg one day. I bet you grow quite a bit l?

    • @catherinefromchristchurchn6508

      Nope, small flat, small courtyard plus a bit more, plants all mixed in together, but NZ sometimes at the end of a very long supply chain, and weather events in our food growing areas, so I try to have something fresh of my own.

      I forgot to ask you if you have a FB page? Or Messenger as I could also send pics of the plants and what they are called and how they would do by you. I have another that my mom and I call a night flower as back home in Chicago it can live in! And it’s wild out here in the desert. It opens up in the evening and closes in the am. So flowers are not awake in the day.

      It's getting harder and harder to answer that one 😂 it's quite temperate here in the midlands. It's rare to get colder than -5 °C but it can. And summer time high temperature is like playing lottery 😅

      Hi, did you miss the start of the video? 😊 it was approximately sand and cement 4:1 ratio. Or there abouts.
      With a litte water just to create a crumbly mortar that I could press into the joints 😁👍
      I hope that helps.
