As a dirt jump builder in Denmark i am very happy to see you are learning people how to build and maintain the jumps.. I hope that someday all people will respect the builders hard work. cuz remember... no diggin, no ridin :) Thank you guys.. Blake, youre the man ;)
Absolutely quality tbh I remember being a young lad 10/11 tops and older lads laughing at me for piling mud into heaps and trying to jump it... Still did it I'm an old bloke now with kids and hope to show him this when he's Older
Man, as a Mid school BMX dirt jumper i have to say this. For a beginner jump that probably wont be used long, the logs are fine. For trails you want to use for a long time just use dirt. The logs break down over time and leave you with issues. Thank you for the vid. I just bought a dj mtb and plan on learning how to use it.
Top notch presenting and then to go and throw those tricks off such a small jump! Great vid for beginners and also fun and entertaining for advanced riders like myself🤘🏼
I built a 12 feet jump with my friends last week. It took us the whole day, but we were so proud and jumping it the first time was amazing... and sketchy.
I'm extremely jealous of how good dirt in this video is. I tried doing this and ended up having 50% of rocks and unusable soil. However, I won't quit until I have one completely ridable!
If you are gonna build in public just find a spot that is hidden enough, my buddies and I have built a pump track right next to the street, and then we have some other bigger jumps tucked away,
thankyou soooo much for starting to post building vids I live to build trails like those and it makes me super happy to see gmbn does too plz make more vids like this!!!
the logs are a great idea, it actually makes it stronger and creates what is called engineered dirt... Breaks the sheer-line of the dirt and actually allows you to make it steeper than the sheer-line. In-fact, paper, grass, leaves, netting, etc will work. great for that too.
Really Nice Video Guys 💪🏼😉Please make more Videos of "How to build Jumps,Drops..."It's nice to see how to do this so you can do it yourself.Hope we see more of this:);)
digging the dirt all on the surface gives you all the fresh dirt and if you dig up the dirt in the shape of a small path around the jump you have a path for people who dont want to jump it
New to mtb. Found a sweet place out of the way. Some elderly boy was digging away solo so we got talking and i offered my help. Gave him a coke and some biscuits and learned a few valuable lessons. Taking some stiff brooms soon to help clear the trails and will hang them in the trees for others.
Blake can be Matt Stephens's therapist regarding logs -- and jumps -- every time. Scotty started the sessions with "5 Tricks One Log" and Blake went all-out phobia burial mode. ~wink~ EDIT: Oh yeah, thanks for some more life skills (even though some may say that trail building is a minor skill).
That square shovel is for scraping the surface of the ground or transferring a pile of material When I was a kid, we had to dig holes to build dirt jumps. Only tool for that is a round shovel
Dude that shovel is so not a spade it's square at the edge spades are well, pointy! That shovel is a tamper and a dirt mover not much of a digger that dirt must be amazingly soft! And those logs look pre cut more like an easter egg hunt of jump building haha really enjoyed the vid it had a very upbeat vibe.
When I clicked on the vid I thought you where building one of those big jumps in the background and when it said beginner jump I thought about how small of jumps I hit😢😢😢 nice vid Blake😀
Watched this 2 years ago. I am now building 20+ foot gaps and jumping super high because of this.
Congrats bro 🎉
I gotta pee
I need to do a number 1

James 997 r/wooooooosch
Nico thyme ???
OMG! Thanks. It took me a few iterations, but thanks to this, I finally got my backyard jump right!
I like how Blake just busts out the tricks: no footer, can-can, and clapping no hander... on a slow, 2-foot high 4-foot long mellow jump. Mad boost!
it was faster because you had magical logs
Haha, so true
He forgot to add to his tool list
Spade saw and some extra hands XD

Division MT that must have been hard I live with a forest backyard so it is super hard to dig but finding wood is easy
Absolutely quality tbh I remember being a young lad 10/11 tops and older lads laughing at me for piling mud into heaps and trying to jump it... Still did it I'm an old bloke now with kids and hope to show him this when he's Older

The humor, the subject, the object, the content, its just perfect.
THANK YOU for this
Thanks! My back yard is quite small big enough for a decent berm and two features! Keep up the good work fellas!
That dirt looks prime! Blake was just patting it into shape with ease!
you can also turn the hole where you got the dirt from into a jump
y t yeah, I don't know why more people don't do this.In the 80s, that's how I made my jumps.
Yeah you could make a little dip before it
That how me and my mates do it we dig a hole and put the takeoff and land on the sides
if you live in a wet place like I do, it will just become a pond
Three Trailbuilders that’s y u don’t bother 😂
i know it imposible bcs u uploaded this video 1 minute ago but i watched the whole 7 minute video and i loved it
I like how he's wearing his helmet the whole time. Safety first! 😂
That’s a great idea to wear ur helmet because if he falls he’s safe
L O G I C
😂
i also do this
I do that when I’m building
Me to
I actually wear a helmet when i build because it keeps bugs off my head better then a hat does. Bug spray doesn’t help btw
4:16 Scotty in the back round doing a bike check on Blake’s dirt jumper.
So glad you made this vid. Berm next?
Is that an inner tube at 2:50
Lol how did it managed to get up there
It was full of air, like when you blow a balloon and let it go. It goes frrrrrtttt up a tree.

The no-look bike grab was awesome @ 6:09. I think you're pretty awesome, dude.
Wish I had good dirt like that around my jumps 😂
I wish i had a good dirt bike too! Atleast 100cc...
same i’m from nevada and anything you find here is sandy

@@carsonplaysminecraft1018 dirt bike??
Same I have to bring multiple milk jugs of water just for a bit of moisture to my jumps

Awesome! So Good my 8 & 9 year old boys successfully built a jump with no help. Thanks!
Do more of that Build vids
Great video this is exactly what I was looking for, I live directly next to a creek in Australia and I can’t wait to build my jumps down there 🤙
Sammeeee, I’m building a trail at the moment
I built a 12 feet jump with my friends last week. It took us the whole day, but we were so proud and jumping it the first time was amazing... and sketchy.
5:35 that's what she said

Thanks for this vídeo!!!!

Blake's presenting is brilliant 👍🏻😂
The log tip is gold! 👍🏻
i think the guy in the background at 4:00 is trying to get in the bike vault
Sven Van Wonterghem 😂😂
Sven Van Wonterghem who cares??
Maybe he found a trailblake that will give him a supernice
I like this, it's not like other dirt jump videos like step one have tons of private land and bobcats
How to make a trail? =D
Макс Камнев dig up the grass and ride on it a lot
I'm extremely jealous of how good dirt in this video is. I tried doing this and ended up having 50% of rocks and unusable soil. However, I won't quit until I have one completely ridable!
please do more of this digging videos!!👍🏼👍🏼
Is that Scotty in the back ground at 4:16?
:D love the fact you are building wearing your safety gear!
If you are gonna build in public just find a spot that is hidden enough, my buddies and I have built a pump track right next to the street, and then we have some other bigger jumps tucked away,

Make a pump track in your backyard Blake! That would be awesome
6:10 -> smooth
the video i have been waiting for for 1 year!

but they rot and decompose over time and it ruins the dirt jump. this sadly comes from personal experience ;-;
Wow I just came home from the woods ...We were building Huuge jumps and stuff..and then I saw this video... :)
Do more of these building vids.. so cool.
Blake is about the greatest guy ever.
The timeless words of Blake, "if you wanna go more higher, you gotta build it taller."

Thank you so much I'm developing my woods now loved this video and subscribed
This helped a lot beacause me and my friend are building tracks and we were building the jumps way to small so the measurement helped

I would have unsubscribed a long time ago if Blake didn't join GMBN. Keep these videos coming!

That was amazing😮😮 thanks GMBN for this video😇😇🚴🚴🚴🚲🚲🚲🚵🚵🚵🚵
Damn, crazy how he can get a tuck no hander on such a small jump, ninja timing!
this helped so much, recently bought a marin mount vision 6 so gunna do it with that
The finding the logs bit was the best!!!! Haha!!! Awesome 👍
this is a wonderful idea and i have subscribed and would like to know how i could upgrade my full suspension genesis overkill 27.5 pro
This i will use, Im thinking of stacking some wood pallets, what do you guys think in regards to wood pallets?
free wood
That is a shovel, not a spade!
DN no its blakes bad, not yours
lol
genious
is this guy being serious?
NoCommentate Most ironic comment on youtube haha.
thanks so much you made me be able to build my first proper bike jump
Hi Blake, in the video it seems that you take the ramp with very slow speed. In that case are you doing a sort of bunny hop? Regards from Argentina.
Make this a series how to build love this 👍👍👌
great video.was looking forward to it

The building part is fun
my first jump was 6 meter long tabletop i didn't fell but landed nose heavy multiple times :q
glad that i have good adjusted suspension :D
"lets find some dead logs!"
finds freshly cut pieces.

Nice video. Wish it wasn't raining so much right now. Cheers.

Thanks Blake this really helped me I'm just a kid thanks so much
I gonna build one in my home rubber plantation 😬🥳
The first shovel is a transfer shovel. It is great for transferring material from one place to another.
works great in my shop and on road trips in my RV
Thanks blake now i can go hoping on my backyard😇
Them jumps look sick
When I clicked on the vid I thought you where building one of those big jumps in the background and when it said beginner jump I thought about how small of jumps I hit😢😢😢 nice vid Blake😀
Where and what are these jumps? I've seen them in so many videos and they look so good. If someone could tell me that would me much appreciated.
Good video lads I will use the logs in my next build cheers
