Beste dirt jump beginner tutorial on youtube. Only thing that was missing that somebody taught me is last time i rode my dirt jumper is not to bend the legs to much while riding up the face of the jump
Ive been riding for years and i couldnt believe how much higher i went when i kept my legs straight until the back tire left the lip. It was a grest feeling. I wish someone would have taught me this yewrs ago.
As usual another great video and answered all my questions about jumping . I've started on smaller jump lines but was nervous hitting the steeper lines but you have given the answers and tips and better understanding. Thanks Emily such a great teacher .
hmm.. it kinda depends on the jumps. If the jumps you usually do on your enduro are pretty steep then probably not much difference, but if they are more mellow and require speed, then I'd say be careful about not going too fast on proper steep jump lines on a DJ bike. You'll probably get more boost/speed from the DJ cos there's no suspension sucking energy/speed. Hope that helps!
One big question for me: I jump too early- when i see the lip I raise the front end then my back wheel comes off the jump earlier than the lip -as u do here too, your back wheel touches the lip ( end of jump) -how do to that? how to think about that? Almost like a manual ? can u please help me with that ;D ?
I'm not totally sure what you mean, but if you feel like you are making an input too early, really try to stop yourself from doing that. A lot of tutorials tell you that you need to be able to bunny hop to jump, or that the technique is the same as a bunny hop, which personally I disagree with. It is a SIMILAR technique, but it's not completely the same and you definitely don't need to be able to bunny hop to jump, because the lip is propelling you into the air whereas with a bunny hop you have to do that yourself. The reason I mention that is because I am wondering if you have a habit of trying to do a bunny hop type motion when trying to take off of a jump. Try to analyse what you're actually doing. Sometimes I say to myself that I just need to ride up the lip - I don't need to really do anything (except standing tall as I take off, but for me as a life long bike rider, that's quite a natural motion). I find reminding myself "just ride up the lip" can help not make any strange or unwanted inputs on new/scary jumps! Don't know if that helps cos like I say I'm not totally sure what you mean, but fingers crossed... sorry it took so long to reply!

Correct. Make yourself small at the bottom to pump into the beginning of the jump and then explode coming off
Great video, thanks. I’ll be sure to watch more of your content 👍
Thank you very much for the tips on how to do dirt jumps. Great video.
Great work keeping it simple.

Thanks for this Emily - I like the way you got rid of the traffic noise at the A3 jumps 👊
Where are the other jumps?
Ha, ninja skills 😉 The other jumps are in France not far from Grenoble - quite far from where I live but the closest we've got 😥
Excellent tuitions 🤘
Thank you!
very informative! cheers!
Very useful. Thanks!
You're welcome!
Any top technique tips for going from trail jumping on an enduro bike to jump lines on a dj bike?

Are those dirt jumping specific jeans?
Totally! 🤣
Thanks great content 🍻
What size wheels are yours ? TIA trying to build a proper big bmx/dirt build
I'm on a 26" on the DJ bike. It's nice, it gives a good margin for error compared to a BMX but it's nice and precise.
