Police Officer Suicide | Cop Mom | Processing my Academy Classmate Committing Suicide

Hi guys and thanks for stopping by. My name is Melissa and I have been a police officer for just about 15 years now. I am currently a lieutenant in a large metropolitan police department and I created this video to share some information on police officer suicide. A very special person in my agency and classmate committed suicide last week and my agency is currently processing and grieving. We are working hard to support each other and trying to see what else we can do to hopefully prevent this in the future.

We just lost another officer, he was retired in this case, to suicide. Years ago one of ours shot himself w/ a department shotgun inside his cruiser.
