The kind of emotions godzilla puts into his acting, it's almost like he roars his soul out. Such a talented young character left unrecognised for so many awards.
Imagine telling someone in 2014 that this same Godzilla, in ten years, would be bigger, sporting pink dorsal fins, and going full sprint inside of the earth, alongside a kaiju sized King Kong with a viking beard, and brass gauntlet.
Would have been cool to see honestly. Even if they still had another titan (M.U.T.O or the multi legged thing it doesn't matter) for godzilla to fight, him being the lesser of two evils yet still very clearly not a defender of earth/humanity would be awesome. Present him as an unstoppable force of nature, unyielding and scary, still fighting to protect himself like in the movie sure, but let him get pissed at the military for shooting at him. Let him take out the air carriers following him. Show more brutality in him, show the celateral damage caused by him. Some of this stuff is present in the movie, but it isn't shown. Instead showing those specific scenes with the M.U.T.U to clearly mark then as the villain, while showing godzilla avaid the military clearly marking him as the hero. Some simple tweaks here and there, more somber moods, showing godzilla wreak havoc, and we could have had that concept as a movie. It's a neat idea to think about
Seriously. Don't get me wrong I like all the monster verse movies but I hate it when the 1st movie sets the tone and then they hire new directors and then the tone gets all fucked up. It's why I would of kept 2014 director for the rest of the Godzilla movies. The DCEU did the same thing. All of Snyders movies have the same tone but then we get Aquaman and WW1984 with completely different tones.
During 1954 actually was also the testing of nukes in Bikini Atoll. Godzilla was just a product of it by japan to symbolize the horrors of nuclear warfare and weapons as america displayed during 1954 in the Bikini Atoll testing.
Yep, it was a true cinematic masterpiece, people expected mindless action, but I love the tone of this movie. No out of place jokes, just an epic cinematic experience. Loved it and is my favourite Godzilla for those reasons.
Watching this trailer really takes me back to 2014, when this movie came out and all my friends were hyped about it. Still one of the best movies with an amazing soundtrack.
Matt Shah Sadly, the movie didnt hold up to the trailer. I guess, it is not possible to make a monster/kaiju movie for people with more than two brain cells.
I know who would have thought we would get this monsterverse. I thought this was gonna be another solo Godzilla movie and thats that but im glad we getting spoiled.
What an incredible trailer. I may be in the minority, but the direction of this movie was way cooler than any of the newer Legendary Godzilla movies. The monsters were actually giant and not just CGI things not interacting with humans at all
This right here is one of the finest if not the best monster film, the entire storytelling, the dark cinematography, the human emotions everything was perfect.
@solidSnake4580 Oh please. Just because the tone took a different path with the later films, doesn’t mean they suck. Although i do admit Godzilla 2014 still has the best human characters.
@@Nostalgic80s-nd3qb Only that it does suck, I said the tone was inconsistent, I criticize the movie of being bad for it’s bad writing, story lack of consistency, being boring and full of fan service.
Did we watch the same movie? This movie was terribly disappointing and still isn't good even 10 years later. This trailer basically lied about everything. Bryan Cranston was not the lead actor, Godzilla wasn't even the focus, and there's barely any good monster fights or action.
You're all wrong. You need to watch Godzilla backwards. In that case its a movie about a good lizard that saves New York from an evil army that destroys half of the buildings, it then helps to rebuild the city and after completing the work, it proudly moonwalks into the ocean like a boss.
I'm going to compensate for all of you and say why this movie is AWESOME: 1. Amazing special effects. 2. Serious tone makes you feel like you're a part of it and emphasizes realistic-feeling aftermath. 3. Amazingly shot- integrates CG elements with real elements so beautifully. 4. Great score 5. Works as a crescendo from start to finish. 6. Godzilla kills the monsters in really badass ways. 7. Fantastic, convincing Production design, sets, and huge military involvement 8. Camera usually from a human perspective, immersive and emphasizes the scale 9. Awesome new origin story for these monsters (Better than- oh radiation created these ridiculous creatures, which makes no sense, Emmerich didn't bother to change) 10. The military is a peace-keeping force that makes a genuine mistake, no belligerent generals or asshole-ish mayors. 11. Convincing performances Bryan Cranston- Wife died, isolated and looking for answers Elizabeth Olson- Worried wife and mother Aaron Taylor Johnson- A soldier doing his job in the middle of intense shit. "Wooden" - or realistic soldier? If you weren't drawn in, thrilled, in awe and at the edge-of-your-seat, then I pity you because movies like this don't come along very often.
iforgot87872 Once Bryan Cranston died the movie was over for me. He was the only character with motivation in the movie. The son was boring as hell and i didn't care for the rest of the characters. And there wasn't Godzilla to make up for the boring human drama.
iforgot87872 What movie did you see? Because all of these can be ruined if the payoff isn't done well. Which movie does terribly! No one wanted to see the soldiers. No one flat out cared about them. Plus, teasing the audience through the WHOLE MOVIE without showing any real fight (not even a bit) till the very end (which the fighting was boring and short) couldn't make up for the hype and suspense that they build up for the whole movie. Which cause disappointment and boredom.
this movie was extremely well put together...The guy who directed this one or the guy who directed Skull Island should have directed Godzilla versus Kong....smh
@@jeremyrodriguez9763 🙂 I'm okay with that, I still think he would have done a way better job with Mechagodzilla and Kong then Adam Wingard... The disrespect for Kong in GvK was absurd... I believe he would have been able to do a better job of making Kong be more of a threat...
@@evanbelisle8464 yeah I REALLY like Kong too and GVK was solid... Like I said I really feel like Wingard made Kong a little too soft, for example when Kong was chained to the ship and Godzilla was approaching to fight, when Kong signaled them to release him and they became indecisive on whether to release him or just let Godzilla eat him, Kong should have just snapped those chains to show that you can't contain him.... And we already saw him do it in Skull Island so it wouldn't be a surprise that he's strong or powerful enough to do it but little things like that would have made viewers want to take Kong more seriously... But yes it was a solid movie...lol
This movie was epic. I don't see why there's so many people complaining in the comments. The final fight scene and Godzilla's finishing move is awesome, and Godzilla's in it for the same amount that he was in in the original films, which were also awesome.
Mostly because the character didn't felt like an anti hero, he felt more of a hero hero (GODZILLA) that's my only criticism I had with the film other that that its great.
how did the soldier found his kid ? when I saw the lights on its back I thought it was the bridge but no .. then Godzilla spits blue flames and I donno why , when it appeared the first time in Honolulu nobody was surprised .. the people acted like it was there all the time and lots of other questions .. total waste of money and time
cafta Because many people have seen the clip of that scene that someone stolen and shown off the enternet for a few months. and plus don't cry your money is not completely wasted you just added cash to the Box Office.
The trailer for Godzilla 2014 still gives me chills, even 6 yrs later! I remember all the hype and speculation for G14, bringing back memories and the good old days of 2014. Easily better than kotm in a lot of ways lol
Watching this trailer after seeing Godzilla vs Kong, and this would still have to be my favourite of Legendary's Godzilla movies. Seeing this in the theatre was amazing. Gareth Edwards did an incredible job framing Godzilla and the Mutos and just really playing up this sense of dread. I know it gets a lot of shit because it cuts away from the monsters battling, but I thought it was effective and it made the final battle so satisfying.
I really wish he would’ve directed kotm and gvk, I wanna start some sort of trend called #restoretheedwardsverse i don’t know if it’s gonna get any attention, but hey it’s worth a try
@@t.c.g.thecentregod2809 This is the Edwardsverse. He went to a meeting with the other directors and they all talked about their vision for this universe and their love of Godzilla. They always wanted each movie to be different.
Fun fact: that same haunting, beautiful shot is in the movie itself... sort of. It's just been turned into complete garbage with different CG work. As the doors close, instead of looming alone in the sky like something out of a nightmare, Godzilla is having a stupid fistfight with two giant bugs. Sums up how much better the trailers for this movie are than the movie itself, and why.
@@E-Man5805 Good thing Godzilla is immune to temperatures hotter than the core of the sun. 2014 Godzilla is arguably the best adaptation of Godzilla; ever. It's so horrifying and scary and so viscerally real. The atmosphere is perfect. And then a few years later... Unfortunately it was thrown in the dumpster... And a few years after that... Totally trashed... And now... oof...
yeah... seeing it go from this to gvk and gxk the new empire... they just turned it to a monster flick and not the original horror/thriller godzilla was supposed to be. they completely lost their way
@@arkin2263 Absolutely dude... And it's so sad because it was unbelievably good and with so much potential for more. So so much potential. And so terrifying. And now... We get cringey family movies with the end goal of showing the power of family and friendship. And that as long as you have plot armour and are a literal child; you too can go against all odds. Fml. At least this one was gritty with realism and terror and genuine fear as to what was going on and what was going to happen. It was unnerving. Perfect representation of Godzilla. You're not meant to understand him. You're not meant to know what he is.
Godzilla minus one exist shin godzilla exist and the orginal godzilla exist. And guess what all those movies are way way better then this dumpster fire of a movie. But I guess monster fighting monster is enough for your monkey brain.
Spot on. I absolutely hate it as well when you get people who say shit like "it's a movie about a big lizard, it's not supposed to be serious" because it's that very attitude that is killing the movie industry now and prevents great films like this from being made. I mean just compare the cast of this movie (Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen) to the GxK. That alone sums up the huge drop off.
Godzilla 2014 and Kong skull island are by far best monsterverse ever made because the CGI are so perfect the human drama, the story, dark and horror, and serious tone compared to the GvK and Gxk new empire that they just turned into cartoony children and the fact the monster moves extremly fast remind me the pacific rim uprising making the CGI pretty much downfall and people said Gxk still the best compared to boring godzilla 2014 the only good thing about GvK and GxK the new empire is the monsters fights but they didn't care about the movie plot
Oh how I love this movie, when I first watched it when it came out I thought it was just OK and not enough Godzilla but the more I watched it over the years, the more I loved it and got to appreciate the level of detail Edwards put into this to make you really appreciate the moments that we do get to see Godzilla, get a feel of the sense of scale as well as the terror as it would be from people seeing monsters like this. A truly under rated and under appreciated gem
@Ritz Crackers I agree, though I do love how Michael Doherty did KOTM and still gave us a few human level shots to show off the scale of the Monsters, not to mention the entire movie is just one giant nod to Godzilla fans with so many references and callbacks to Godzilla of old, it did though take the world of Godzilla into more sci-fi monster fantasy. I would have also loved to have seen the Monsters kept and depicted within a real world as Edwards did
These trailers were just amazing. Never giving away too much while drawing us in. And using Requiem for Soprano, one of the most unnerving music tracks of all time really gives a sense that something horrible coming. And that dialog about a coverup while showing all that distruction really gave me a feeling of, "What could do that and not be seen?" And the scene with the jets simply falling out of the sky was also really creepy. I mean you could see they weren't damaged in any way so something about that gave me a real "End of Days" feeling. Like something so horrible is coming that everything dies, man and machine, that gets near it.

Does anybody else start shuddering and crying when you hear Godzilla's roar? I have always had this reaction when I saw the trailer 10 years ago and I came back to see if I would have the same one and the moment that monster starts bellowing I immediately get chills down my spine and tears start falling down my face. I seriously think this is one of the best trailers for a movie.
keithdube12 imo Jurassic world was good and this movie didn't live up to the hype. I really did try, once I saw the trailer 5 months before it was released, I was so hyped for it. I mean everyone knew that is was coming,so why wouldn’t they go all out crazy.Let’s be real here,we would be happy with a trailer with this style, but we would certainly love something more, which I think the trailer did perfectly with the hype music and the first punch.
Ah yes, the fear, the reverence, that is what it is to be a god! It was almost tangible in 2014, it is what I love so much about it. 2019 was like going on a safari, there was not as much awe in seeing them. The tense, hair raising atmosphere displayed in this trailer is what I desire. Oh yeah! Some of the GvK trailer had it when Godzilla appeared, I hope they followed through on it.
Bryan Cranston: It's gonna send us back to the stone age! King Ghidorah: No it won't. But I will... Me: What about the coronavirus? EDIT: lol didn't realize this comment had gained a bit a traction. Glanced at this comment and thought I wish I had written that. Guess I did. So wanted to the coraonvirus line in.
Every other film in Monsterverse never felt so grounded in reality as this film was. Something about it felt raw and real to me, I could see this actually happening (I know nothing to this level will actually happen in our lifetime but the movie really made me imagine that for a second.) Something that I can only give applause to. This is a damn good Godzilla film even if it's slow paced but to me personally it worked, I like when Godzilla feels more intimadating and scary, which this film captured that well. Minus One and Shin Godzilla did it well as well at capturing how terrifying and destructive this creature really can be. Oh, got to give special mention to King Ghidora design in Godzilla King of the Monsters which I thought was also pretty damn terrifying especially at certain angles.
aang ortega Not it didn't. The human element was boring and you have to wait almost 2 hours for Godzilla to make something "big" happen. It was pathetic. And this is supposed to get a "wide audience"? Maybe Godzilla fans who are used to Toho movies, they like that, but this wont' go over well in places like China which could bring in serious box office numbers. Edwards threw the franchise right under the bridge. You want repeated viewings of this movie, and you want Godzilla to have more than a friggin cameo in his own film. So to occupy the rest we got the Muto's and completely flat and boring actors. A love story with Mutos and a cameo of Godzilla, that is the film. Sure the money shots are huge but at that point I am ready to leave the theater. Edwards was far to conservative and almost embarrassed to make Godzilla he kept saying how its better to tease etc. He had very little faith in the creature. I don't see people making excuses for making the Hulk and keep talking about how unbelievable it is etc. That is what he did with this movie. Expect a success for 2 weeks but it will die fast as people just wont' go for repeated viewings of a movie that has Godzilla for a cameo.
I know dude. I really miss it. Everyone trying to find out who the MUTOs were. Everyone expecting a super dark movie. I loved the movie but I would have loved a more dark, gritty movie.
9 years later, and this stays nostalgic to this day. Thanks to this movie that my uncle introduced me to, I officially became a Godzilla fan. We love you, Godzilla!
Things that went wrong with this movie: 1. 30 minutes in, no Godzilla. 2. 45 minutes in, still no Godzilla. 3. Finally shows Godzilla, cuts out the fight scene to show Bryan Cranston. 4. 1 hour. STILL no Godzilla. 5. Godzilla is finally about to show up...The power goes out in the theatre.
Gyushal Bon-Queefson The Movie is called Godzilla, so you expect Godzilla. What he meant with #4 was that godzilla was actually shown, but it wasn't noteworthy cuz he had like 20 sec total screen time. So yeah, he was really finally shown at the end of this extremely booooring slooow movie and even then there was no spectacular action scene. So I coun't all his points.
Roald Pedersen I was joking in the first place. And a lot of people usually like to listen to the story, and learn things about Godzilla, then just watching a lot of action about him the whole movie. I loved the acting, I loved the way they acted towards Godzilla, and I loved the different dinosaurs that fought with Godzilla. Its kind of like COD vs "Sorcery!" Different people like different games
What!? That doesn't even make any sense. Not only does Godzilla have no interesting features at all! (Apart from the blue beam that he magically suddenly can breathe), there was hardly any explenation about what he was. Wow dinosaur kind creature milllions of years old. Oh no.. how original!! I didn't see that coming at all.. NOT!! Even worse, the monsters eat Radioactive stuff. I can assure you, no organic being will ever be able to eat radioactive material. 2 reasons. #1: It is not organic and therefore cannot be digested. #2 Radioactive materials kill anything they touch, because they destroy atomic and molecular structures. So this part of the plot is stupid and annoying. Pacific Rim has a simple plot, but this movie is even simpler. I can only say about Godzilla, that I am glad I didn't spend a dime on it.
I can't even count how many times I've watched this. I love movies that have impossibly large monsters. This looks to be the best one since Cloverfield in my opinion.
the complaints of the movie are stupid. how there is too much military/science/family human element and no fighting until the end. that is pretty much most Godzilla movies in a nutshell. they just wanted a Michael bay transformer film with giant monsters.
+Dahellraider And the sad part about it is the fact that even when it's like a Michael Bay Transformer film with giant monster thing, people would still complain on how there is too much action and too much stuff going on. Every time I see people rant Godzilla, I scream what do you guys want?!
There was so many people that called themselves Godzilla fans and yet hate on the movie. Its the perfect American version of Japanese Godzilla. Hit every note on point.
You know what? F*ck it: This movie was badass. I don't care about what the critics say. I don't care what the nitpickers say. Yes, they hold off on the final battle, but to be fair, EVERY GODZILLA MOVIE DOES THIS. The final battle is always during the third act at the very end of the movie. Heck, even in the original, Godzilla only was in 17-20 minutes of screentime. The rest was all people. What's important is if the suspense pays off in the end, and by GOD does it pay off in this film. The ending battle here was the best monster clash I've ever seen, easily topping any Pacific Rim fight. And what's wrong with the M.U.T.O.s? It's like you people don't even acknowledge they were there! Even though Godzilla wasn't in the first and second acts much, the M.U.T.O.s sure were! You got a ton of monster action throughout the entire film! Also, the acting in this film wasn't THAT bad. I mean, jeez, you people are RELENTLESS. Sure, it wasn't Oscar-winning or anything, but it sure the f*ck was decent. Plus, it's hard to beat actors like Bryan Cranston and Juilette Binoche, who did such a fantastic job and set the bar really high for the rest of the cast early on. Finally, you have to take into consideration that this is Gareth Edward's first big-production film. HIS FIRST HOLLYWOOD-FUNDED FILM. He took a monster that everyone previously looked at as silly, unrealistic, and cheesy and flipped the tide. Now people are wanting to see more of the big guy, more destruction, more monster action, more atomic breath (whether they say so through critique or not). I'd say that's DAMN impressive for a first! I say bring on the sequels, Legendary. The movie had its flaws, but it would be tragic to see a series like Micheal Bay's Transformers get countless sequels and not see this film even get one. My recommendation? Ghidorah.
Your totally right man! Bryan Cranston is a theatrical genius. He is able to demonstrate himself as proficient in this cinematic master piece. The special effects were so picturesque, I had sweet cold tears run down my scarlet cheek as I watched this spectacular piece of artistry. My sweaty palms trembled as I heard Godzilla roar, as I type this I keep looking over my shoulder expecting to see this extremely large reptile invade my domestic habitat of peace and tranquillity. I feel a slight vibration of warm, moist air brush my back and I hold my spoon in preparation for battle and let of a gasp of relief as I look down to see my four legged furry friend look up at me with an uneducated look of canine curiosity. The gloomy evening is a enticing invitation for any predator as I sit in solitude in my illuminated kitchen. I see green scales whip past my pupil and I turn, ready to defend myself against the beast before me and notice it is merely my fish swimming around in his well provided tank. Unaware of the dangers that affect mankind. I am convinced, after watching this motion picture that we must all take heed against the 'King of Monsters'.
I totally agree all the comments below are just saying that he didn't appear enough. If he appeared to much all of San Francisco and New York would be completely destroyed nothing left

Nanz Calrissian Your problem, as with many is you didnt understand it. Godzilla was the star of the movie. He saved the day! That was the point!! He saved us from the Muto's. The whole movie was a re-imagining of the entire Godzilla lore, where he is the hero. He saves the day..which he did in this movie and 75% of the other Godzilla movies. It was really well done, but people just didnt get it. As usual. My only problem was Aaron Taylor-Johnson, I dont really like him as an actor.
10 years ago the Monsterverse started as a grounded universe and today it has become a full-blown sandbox of ideas and it just keeps getting better and better.
It's just a trailer, but it lands with so much greater force and depth than popcorn fare like Pacific Rim. This is a film about real sacrifice, real loss, and real struggle. Bring it on.
I agree. This is the real deal Kaiju movie, Pac Rim was the gourmet popcorn Kaiju movie. Both are awesome in their own way, in my opinion haha. Hopefully this will be successful enough to where Kaiju movies will be the next big Hollywood thing.
Pacific Rim didn't try to be that kind of film though. Pacific Rim was purely an action flick, designed to entertain and be free of deep drama and sacrifice, whereas Godzilla is going for an authentic disaster, drama and human suffering. Completely different movies, despite probably appealing to the same audience. Also, Pacific Rim was fun as fuck and I loved it, and I will love this film too.

You're all wrong. You need to watch Godzilla backwards. In that case its a movie about a good lizard that saves New York from an evil army that destroys half of the buildings, it then helps to rebuild the city and after completing the work, it proudly moonwalks into the ocean like a boss.

quit lying, this movie was utter dogshit. killed bryan in the first 10 minutes and kept cutting away to news reporters
Not even close to being a masterpiece, but it’s really good.
I remember being scared at one point and leaving the theatre, my brother finished it while i waited
"Now. Say my name."
"...Godzilla."
"You're god damn ri-AAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGGGH!"
I'm going to compensate for all of you and say why this movie is AWESOME:
1. Amazing special effects.
2. Serious tone makes you feel like you're a part of it and emphasizes realistic-feeling aftermath.
3. Amazingly shot- integrates CG elements with real elements so beautifully.
4. Great score
5. Works as a crescendo from start to finish.
6. Godzilla kills the monsters in really badass ways.
7. Fantastic, convincing Production design, sets, and huge military involvement
8. Camera usually from a human perspective, immersive and emphasizes the scale
9. Awesome new origin story for these monsters (Better than- oh radiation created these ridiculous creatures, which makes no sense, Emmerich didn't bother to change) 10. The military is a peace-keeping force that makes a genuine mistake, no belligerent generals or asshole-ish mayors.
11. Convincing performances Bryan Cranston- Wife died, isolated and looking for answers
Elizabeth Olson- Worried wife and mother
Aaron Taylor Johnson- A soldier doing his job in the middle of intense shit. "Wooden" - or realistic soldier?
If you weren't drawn in, thrilled, in awe and at the edge-of-your-seat, then I pity you because movies like this don't come along very often.
iforgot87872 Indeed. Well said.
iforgot87872 Once Bryan Cranston died the movie was over for me. He was the only character with motivation in the movie. The son was boring as hell and i didn't care for the rest of the characters. And there wasn't Godzilla to make up for the boring human drama.
Lone432345 the boring human drama was on all Godzilla movies starting Gojira 1954
iforgot87872
What movie did you see? Because all of these can be ruined if the payoff
isn't done well. Which movie does terribly! No one wanted to see the
soldiers. No one flat out cared about them. Plus, teasing the audience
through the WHOLE MOVIE without showing any real fight (not even a bit)
till the very end (which the fighting was boring and short) couldn't
make up for the hype and suspense that they build up for the whole
movie. Which cause disappointment and boredom.
iforgot87872 I agree, but they shouldn't have killed Bryan Cranston's character so early.

The scariest thing about this movie is how it’s so scaryingly realistic it is, like this could all happen right now
this movie was extremely well put together...The guy who directed this one or the guy who directed Skull Island should have directed Godzilla versus Kong....smh
@@zulu3274 The guy who directed this film literally planned to have Mechagodzilla in the next movie no matter what.
@@zulu3274Kong was the main character. I actually really liked GvK.
Mostly because the character didn't felt like an anti hero, he felt more of a hero hero (GODZILLA)
that's my only criticism I had with the film other that that its great.
Yeah, he was a hero in some of the old movies too, I thought it was pretty cool, but I know what you mean, and yeah it was great :D
how did the soldier found his kid ? when I saw the lights on its back I thought it was the bridge but no .. then Godzilla spits blue flames and I donno why , when it appeared the first time in Honolulu nobody was surprised .. the people acted like it was there all the time and lots of other questions .. total waste of money and time

Godzilla 2014 and Kong skull island are by far best monsterverse ever made because the CGI are so perfect the human drama, the story, dark and horror, and serious tone compared to the
GvK and Gxk new empire that they just turned into cartoony children and the fact the monster moves extremly fast remind me the pacific rim uprising making the CGI pretty much downfall and people said Gxk still the best compared to boring godzilla 2014 the only good thing about GvK and GxK the new empire is the monsters fights but they didn't care about the movie plot

Something that I can only give applause to. This is a damn good Godzilla film even if it's slow paced but to me personally it worked, I like when Godzilla feels more intimadating and scary, which this film captured that well. Minus One and Shin Godzilla did it well as well at capturing how terrifying and destructive this creature really can be. Not it didn't.

The sound at the very end with the title screen gives me the chills
Pro
I've watched this about 20 times now. Gozilla = Most Anticipated 2014 movie
I can't even count how many times I've watched this. I love movies that have impossibly large monsters. This looks to be the best one since Cloverfield in my opinion.
chaos8585 Cloverfield was a kids movie compared to this.
This will easily be the most epic film of 2014
Stingerbillion Not really. They may both feature a monster destroying cities, but they don't have much else in common. It's not a competetion.
chaos8585 The cinematography in Cloverfield has to be the biggest difference between the two. It was quite unique.
the complaints of the movie are stupid. how there is too much military/science/family human element and no fighting until the end. that is pretty much most Godzilla movies in a nutshell. they just wanted a Michael bay transformer film with giant monsters.
It was mainly that the focus was too much on the Mutos.
they can't even seem to remember that OTHER time a Monster Movie centered more on people and less on the Monster. (JAWS)
Well Jaws actually had interesting human characters, unlike this film.
You know what? F*ck it:
This movie was badass.
Ghidorah.
I completely agree!!
Wait the movie had flaws? Sorry too much Godzilla awesomeness my head cant work properly.
Dude I love this comment. Spot fucking on. Been a fan since I was 4. I even watched the original and Godzilla vs Mothera to get amped for this movie. It didn't disappoint one bit. Great Monster film with out the TERRIBLE English dub.
Here we are 10 years later, back to where it all began. Now I’m 24 and I’m so happy the monsterverse has made it so far! With Godzilla X Kong on the horizon, i’ve never been more hyped as a Godzilla fan
omg literally chills the sound to this shit awww only 2 days away for the godzilla 2019

Some people didnt like this film cause they were expecting something else. Fair enough. But its still a really good movie. One of the best this year.
TimeLimey I thought it was OK the boring characters/Acting was what pulled it down. Bryan Cranston was amazing though. But if you like it that's fine.
yeah I don't see what is wrong with this film. I really liked it. every time an action scene would come I would be on the edge of my seat
Nanz Calrissian What did you expect from Godzilla , playing football at the end of the movie with children Lmao
Finally, the real Godzilla please stand up! This movie is going to rock!!!
It's an great film with magnificent acting and an lot of brilliant actors, this is why I love this film.
@@josephlowry4320 No offense but I don't thing he cares as you replied 6 years later
I didn't watch breaking bad so I am just sitting here going "Malcolm's dad is going to fight Godzilla!!!!"
The best godzilla movie
No way. This movie doesn't even make the top 10.
0:36 Godzilla thought the Statue of Liberty was holding an ice cream cone.
All i want to see..is a little Japanese man yelling "Godzilla, Godzilla GODZILLA!!"
You mean Godzilraaaa!!!!
If you watch Godzilla backwards it's about a giant lizard repairing a bunch of buildings and then moonwalking into the sea. End
If you watch Cinderella backwards it's about a woman who learns her place.
ICantSplel Lol
That...would actually be an interesting Godzilla movie.
laughed so hard after reading this. .thanks Ender man :)

10 years ago the Monsterverse started as a grounded universe and today it has become a full-blown sandbox of ideas and it just keeps getting better and better.
You had me at Bryan Cranston.
F**k Yeah!
It's Mr. White
Science YEAHHH!!!
You're goddamn right !
Heisenzilla
Someone needs to make a gif of Godzilla coming out of the water and then have Walter White appear saying "I AM THE DANGER!"
Done!
"IAM THE ONE WHO KNOCKS!"
Hopefully this will be successful enough to where Kaiju movies will be the next big Hollywood thing.
trolls keep on trollin'
It's a fucking Godzilla movie.
It sure does look like it
Pacific Rim didn't try to be that kind of film though.
And here we are. 10 years later, when we saw the first Godzilla trailer without knowing everything that would come after.
And now after minus one won the Oscar, now we are about to see the return of Godzilla and Kong in a new empire
Leave Godzilla alone, just leave him alone!
What are u talking about!!!
get out of here Chris Crocker

That last shot was the scariest shit.
The difference in tone between this film and its sequels is whiplash-inducing. It’s like it’s in a totally different series. I kinda wish the other films built on the mood from this movie.
