- February, 1967.
A month after the release of the Rolling Stones' "Between the Buttons", Charlie Watts speaks his mind about Mick Jagger, Jazz, Ginger Baker, Pop music, Andrew Oldham, America, Boredom, etc.
Enjoy!
Rest in Peace, Charlie Watts. The Greatest.
I love this channel
Charlie Watts never had a boring face. He had a thoughtful, thinking face.
I agree but it's so great that he said it. English self-deprecation personified.
At first I found him odd looking, but even as he aged he became very handsome.
A thoughtful intelligent guy - and it is lovely to see his deep respect for his wife Shirley (love that story about Shirley managing to put Mick in his place!)
There will never be a band like The Stones again ; five members with perfect charisma , on top of great music .
Fascinating stuff… Charlie sure knows his jazz drummers!
he was a good jazz drummer
fantastic interview. Charlie is so eclectic. who knew? I also heard he's really into the American Civil War.
Rest in Peace Charlie, it's the end of an era, the greatest drummer in rock 'n' roll history. Thank you for your music ✨💖
Love ya Charlie. He is the backbone of the Stones
Charlie comes across very well. What a bright guy.
Good to hear the thoughts of the Stones' bedrock.
We miss ya, Charlie! 🥁
The only rock star I ever wanted to sit down and talk to 🎃
I always wondered where “Between the Buttons” got its title from. It’s funny to hear because Charlie misunderstood stood Oldham. Apparently, the phrase meant something was “undecided.”
I loved Charlie in No Country For Old Men.
Hahaha! It seems Javier Bardem was inspired by the 1967 Charlie Watts haircut.
Another excellent job! Thank you so much.
Glad you enjoyed it. Cheers!
@@YesterdaysPapers-I have been posting your segments to a great Brian Jones FB Group. Brian Jones-The Original Rolling Stone. You really do wonderful work!
@@musiclover3205 Thanks a lot for the kind words! Really appreciate it.
Not the biggest fan but he’s spot on with his opinions here.
Miss u Charlie
Charlie's good tonight
Damn im gonna miss him
Usually silent natured people are intelligent thinkers and when they talk, they talk with great sense like Charlie Watts and Keith Richards. They are not "bored" people :)
Thanks for my highlighted comment :)
Best channel on UA-cam..
None comes close..
Thank you!
Fantastic footage and commentary!

Awesome thanks ☺️❤️
rip, still waters. god bless.
RIP, Charlie.
Very sad news. Rest in peace.
Charlie « Class » Watts was, is and will remain the best. That’s all
The way his comments on Mick come out here are funny.
Javier Bardem could play Charlie Watts perfectly
Hoje ele faz 80 anos!
Interesting aside from Charlie about Ginger…..Drum duet in heaven 🇬🇧🇬🇧
Imagine the band talking how where they would be without Brian the man who did so much to get them off the ground..props to Bill only 1 who appreciated Brian
@waynecameron4579 Brian Jones is The Rolling Stones without Brian there whould never be a Rolling Stones he started it all he named the band formed the band even picked the members in his band they started out as a blues cover band back in the early days Bill is the only member that gave Brain the respect he deserves if Mick and Keith never knew Brain they might have never because popular today there working for Brian it was his band and it will always be Brian’s Band
He was the engine that ran the stones for nearly 60 years and the only stone that aged with any style, dignity and grace.
This is a good idea. Subbd
added props to Jon Hiseman :)
Great drummer, definitely.
"I've just got an incredibly boring face"
Why can´t we hear Charlie Watts speak himself?
Obviously, because this article/interview was published in a magazine back in 1967 and mags didn't come with audio tapes feauturing the interviews.
Bill. Wyman.
Jagger and Richards should continue as just that.Coz it sure ain't the Stones anymore
