    You Are Correct Again...
At one point in my life I was a Freight Train Riding Hobo... The Stuff We Carry Was a Combination of Both ... Keep it Light, Compact and Simple.
    Water, Knife, Rope, Tape, Tarp...etc.
Hobos live outside.. and stay on the move... We carry a kind of "Bugout Bag" ... with a few Extra Things..
    Great Video.

Exactly right James. Bugout is not for a "living off the land" scenario. It's to sustain you as you travel out of the affected area to a safe location.

A well outfitted "bushcraft" bag would tend to be heavy as fuck to. Bugout shit needs to be high speed low drag. Great points man

I think we used to make up RoN bags along side our gear. Rest over night bags for just Incase we didn’t make it back that night, so it kinda had everything you needed for another day out.

I agree with you, and I also thought it funny when I clicked on your amazon store under bugout and survival the first thing was an axe 🤣

James, thank you for making these. I watched both long format videos and loved them. I really appreciate you showing warts and all on the equipment use and setup. It never fails, you have something new to try and you've read the instructions a dozen times and think you are good to go. You get to the woods and start setup only to find that that damn plastic clip is missing. If that happen during a crisis, it could make the difference between making out alive and the alternative. We practice weapons malfunctions, why not water filtration mishaps? Again, thank you!

Good video. I've done a lot of bushcrafting in my time. A LOT of bushcrafting, and I agree about the 'walking in to the forest and surviving' thing. There are people who could do that and probably survive long-term, but there's probably about 4 of those people in the entire world.

A bugout summed up IMHO is to remove yourself from a dangerous situation, a bugout bag should be in constant flux as you gather information and skills. One funny thing when I hear people talk about a bugout bag or get home bag etc, I ask them how much gas is in your car/truck/etc most of the time they either don't know or they stutter for a second as they think up a lie and of course every once in a while you run into someone that thinks about true necessary shit and they know exactly how much is in there.
I have learned to keep a necessities bag as my Scoutmaster thought me 30 plus years ago, back then it was food water flashlight (batteries) and an NOAA weather radio for times when we went to the storm shelter (I still maintain a bag like that) today, of course, the needs are much different for the bag I keep in the car and the bag that kinda goes with me wherever I go, I believe the popular term for that is an EDC bag.
Thank you, James, for producing/creating this series of videos, I found them to be very informative.

A “bug-out bag” will depend on what your objective is, mine has a weapon and ammo in it for food or whatever else I need to use it on

I agree with you. Just look at all the UA-cam videos of everybody that does bug out bags. Then compare those to videos of what you need for a day hike, done from a hikers point of view. You will find out that the hikers have the necessities covered and trying to have their pack light and easy to carry. Gun guys will have you put 3 of everything and have no idea of how that pack will carry on them. I think the gun guy will go buy a pack and then fill it up. The hikers are doing the exact opposite. They are picking out the gear that they want to have and then they go to the store and pick out their backpack. They also know that you have to be sized for that pack so it carry better on you. A get home bag, or bug out bag need to be set up to get you from a to b as fast as you can to get out of danger. The lighter and better that bag carries on your person will get you there faster.

Not really disagreeing but as far as walking into the woods and not being able to live is not true for everyone a very high profile guy did that very thing back in the 90s for 7 years with FBI hunting him everyday

I feel like people would just see other people doing the bugout thing and kill them and take their shit.. unfortunate but desperate time people do imaginable things.. I have my 3 day supply of food and water filtration for my 3 daughters and wife.. after that idk how I would be either bad or good but my family will survive... Mr Yeager I hope you see this and somewhat agree or be your truthful self and tell me what you think!!

Even the Mountain Men who knew the woods inside out died if the wrong series of events happened, temporary refuge from a crisis fine, forever, no.
