    Used to install these for irrigation systems near bodies of water. Man getting those things primed was a bitch lol.

    I don't think have a foot valve and my well is not common so I don't find any videos that help. I don't know if you can help or if I can ask the right questions so you can. My old pump had a pressure control valve and new pump don't. Would one help new pump stay primed or wasting money?

      @@bobbyhill3372 I'm guessing you're referring to the regulator attached to a deep well pump?
      You have to have a pressure switch in order for it to operate.

    I added water and then pressurized it to find the the homeowner was a jerk and cost me money he was sure that the problem was my line out to the tank or with the pump I installed it couldn't be the pipe or fittings that ran 40 feet across the house it was installed by a qualified plumber turned out one joint wasn't soldered properly plumber was away for the Easter long weekend and they were moving in after living in a motor home while the house was built so they were anxious to move in I could have soldered it but I showed him the leak and told him to call his plumber to fix it picked up my tools and left so no running water until Tuesday I've had two different customers like that because I wasn't a plumber they had to have it done by a qualified plumber with the 2nd one theirs was a defective pump they bought from sears and had their plumber install so it cost them to have the plumber uninstall it then they had to take it back to Sears and get it replaced then take it home and have the plumber reinstall it so while it was a bit cheaper than what I quoted for a pump mine was installed for the price and I would have noticed that there was no threads on the hole for the drain plug when I went to put it in before I hooked it up and gone and got a replacement while they were open another thing the plumber tried for three hours to prime the pump before he gave up and said there must be a leak in the line between house and the tank or installed inside the tank since there was so much water around the pump I didn't notice it at first it was only after I went to take out the drain plug and replace it with a barbed fitting so I could have it pump water to prime it to check for leaks in the lines and no plug thought the plumber forgot it then I couldn't get my fitting to catch the threads and screw in checked for threads and there wasn't any since I didn't start until after 7 pm it was too late for him to get his plumber till the morning then he had to wait until the plumber could come then he had to take it to Sears get a replacement take it home and wait until the plumber was able to come and install the replacement I can be sure the plumber charged him more than he saved on the cost of the pump

      It’s amazing how many plumbers don’t know anything about pumps. They would never admit it. Just paid “on the job training” for them.

    Will this cause a pump to cycle on and off every minute or not even
    Have a irrigation system when zone is running has great pressure no leaks
    But when pump is sitting and irrigation off it’ll drop down 10-15 psi every 30/45 seconds and pump will have to cut on to bring pressure back up
    Or is that bad bladder

    • @ClearWaterPumpWell
      @ClearWaterPumpWell  4 місяці тому

      A pump cycling on and off without any usage is usually either a leak or a bad check valve.
      If a tank is waterlogged it will cause the pump to short cycle while it's running.
      Thanks for the comment and watching,
      Casey

    I have 1hp jet well pump and a check valve with bladder tank. Primed it an it worked fine for a bit,turned on at 30 and off at 50. Then I tried to wash my hands and no water. So I go to pump house and it's running not sure how long but was hot. I don't know but think it lost its prime. Any thoughts on how to not lose prime keeping in mind no foot valve? Or way to fix foot valve. Waters not very deep can I use deep well pump and it keep primed cuz its more power?

      @@bobbyhill3372 a shallow well pump is a single pipe jet pump with a foot valve only. A deep well jet pump has two pipes with a jet assembly and a foot valve in the well.
      Which type you need is based on your water table, if your water is below 20 ft you need a deep well pump in order to build decent pressure.

    I never really liked slip to slip glued in plumbing. Harder to replace and lasts about as long as thread to thread using thread tape and trublu

      Enh if it's not exposed outside I have seen pvc 30+ years old doing fine.

    It could also be from cavitation from an eroded impeller.

    • @ClearWaterPumpWell
      @ClearWaterPumpWell  Рік тому

      Cavitation rarely happens and when it does the pump is at the edge of its ability to pump anyway.
