I am a scratch player and have been for 30 years. I now play the Ping 525 irons and love them. I did play Mizuno 923 before the Pings and Yonex blades for years before the Yonex. I am all Ping today.
Next year Feb i should have the cash to get the Takomo 201s in the bag. Love the cavity. I just need a shaft to stop the moon balls. Something better than my SLDRs KBS Tour 90 Stiff which feel flimsy. Wedges don't know. Driver and hybrid will stay the same.
Thinking of adding the Wilson Staff 8802 putter into the bag. Tried it today and the feel is wonderful. Possibly even buying new irons and wedges as i might return to being an expat one again.
Just started golf this year, almost 50y old, so I'm using all 2nd hand; Titelist 917 driver and 3W, Cobra T-rail 5H, antique McGregor 3-P irons, Cleveland wedges 50 and 58, and a Taylormade Ardmore putter. I'm quite contempt with my current setup, except I'd have room for a 3 hybrid on my local course.
Just purchased Ping G430 irons black spot(standard) felt stunning on the driving range.. loved the way they sat when I picked them up. Taking a flyer on the Ping R as I can't chip.. the fact that the pitch is upright like a putter I'm hoping that will help me as. I'm at my wits end
Just got fitting for some new clubs and I have the Srixon ZX7 driver, Ping G425 max 3, 5, & 7 woods, kept the old Mizuno CLK 5H, Ping i525 6i-GW, Vokey SM9 SW and LW, and kept the old Ping Heppler Fetch putter. Besides my putters, I would always game Callaway or TaylorMade with the exception of one or two clubs, but I was very impressed with how well the Ping clubs performed for me in my club fitting. I told my fitter I didn’t want to know what brand and model club I was hitting to avoid any bias in my selections. I was very surprised with my club selection, and have been extremely happy with them thus far with their performance on the course!
I'm expecting some J Lindeburg LTD4/Vega MB irons to be delivered today James Custom build and delivered in 36 hours! I've also had some Uncommon 55 golf balls delivered. The 55 represents the 55 Canadian Tour wins of Moe Norman. 4 piece ball and urethane cover for around £32 a dozen! I feel a test coming on James. And I did pick up a Toulon Chicago putter just before Christmas. It's delightful.
Great video as always, great to see the Wire Fox, we lost our WFT Colin earlier this year, this is the only golf video my wife has ever watched.Thank you!!!
Enjoyable video again James. I will be sticking to y PXG 0211s got to plus 1 with them last season with M2 driver & original spider putter & ping tour w wedges that are 12 years old 😉
I play with a full set of Ping K15s, driver right down to sand wedge, and a Ping Fetch putter. Handicap 11.4, 71 years old, two artificial knees. I wouldnt change them fir anything. Bought them used, were new in 2011.
I recently built both an RBZ 7w and 9W with Matrix Ozik XCON 5 Graphite X Flex shafts and my MCC plus 4 align grips. I have a SIM2 Max 7W and 9W, but like the bigger size heads of the older RBZs and longer stock shaft lengths. Also, the RBZ feel like they sit more square to my eye and have a lower lie angle.
After trying a stiffer shaft, I'm changing my shafts in my irons to x100, but I'm keeping the same iron heads. I may look at a 3 wood, though. Expect the rest to stay the same.
I have mostly Titleist stuff in my bag. T100, Vokey, Cameron. My current driver is Stealth but eyeing that TSR3. Fairway/hybrids are Ping G425 and aren't going anywhere I don't think.
I have Stealth Plus and now TSR3 All I can say is do it! The TSR3 is the best a titanium driver can be The Stealth is where drivers are going but still seems to be a work in progress
Those Cobras are just stunning. I've always liked the BeCu look and those take it to the next level. I have Ping g710s and I'm back and forth with Callaway Epic Max Stars which are amazing. As usual, your channel rocks James.
Currently have Ping G410 at the top end down to 5H, then Mizuno MP20-MB & T20 wedges. Currently transitioning to Glide 4.0 wedges and will swap over to i230 irons for next UK season.
M216 Driver , 2014 Big Bertha 5 Wood. Srixon ZU85 3 , 4 and 5 Hybrid Irons , Srixon Z585 6 Iron to PW , 48 degree , 54 degree and 58 degree Wedges. RTX , Vokey , Glide2.0 Wilson Putter Infinite Center Shaft. Love my bag , will eventually go all Vokey Wedges , sometimes I play G400 driver instead of M2 and sometimes I play 2014 BB 3 wood over the 5 wood , I also have BB21 3 wood but have not played it much so will see come new season if put in bag but do not like the fact that I can't adjust it.
I will be adding a new putter, a 5 wood and a 7 wood! Ping fan but willing to test out woods to see what works best for me. Would love to take my handicap from 14 to 11
What an awesome experience.. getting fitted for the first time. After all the testing went with mizuno 923hm. Really appreciate all the club and ball reviews done on this channel. 👍⛳️🏌️♂️
I'm a returning golfer after many years, my original clubs included 'wooden' woods, I've bought secondhand off fb mkt place but l need better clubs, l can't justify spending silly money on titleist, ping etc so I'm thinking of the costco Callaway Edge 10 piece set, think.l can justify spending money on those
Buying used i've been eyeing up the i210s and i500 irons however i've now been switched onto srixon, don't think they get enough attention. ZX7 irons and ZX5 driver.
Have to admit that Ping is gradually taking over my bag: G425 5w, G410 4h, i210 irons 5i-PW. Thinking about swapping my 7w for a G430 7w and the wedge could be Ping next time as well, even the putter might end up being Ping. Only club which is safe is the driver, partly because the Stealth is the best driver I have played and partly because I prefer a clean, simple look at address so Ping with turbulators is a no-no for me
Replacing taylormade stealth irons with mizuno 225 Pro ping fetch putter vokey wedges 50,54,58 ping i15 hybrid srixon 3 iron callaway rogue st d driver just looking to change the irons and driver if I can get better numbers than my own 👍
I was thinking Wilson D9 irons or TaylorMade P770. Last year was my first full season and my Ping I3’s give me no confidence especially not being fitted.
1:00 - Golf Doggo!!! 🥹 I love seeing people playing golf with their dogs! Anyway, from top to bottom, my gamer setup for the back half of 2022, going into 2023 consists of: -TaylorMade M1 driver, stiff -Callaway Epic Flash 3 wood, regular -Adams Speedline 5 wood, stiff (new as of two months ago; I sold all of my hybrids this year, and I’ve tried/owned several, but they just don’t fit into my game!) -Haywood “Signature” irons, graphite, 5-PW (fitted), Recoils Smacwrap 760’s, regular -Ben Hogan wedges 50 and 56 degree, graphite, Recoil Smacwrap 760’s, regular -Fourteen RM-11 60 degree, steel shaft (odd, I know, but it came with a used set of Ping ISI’s I bought off of Craigslist last year and I ADORE this wedge!) -Evnroll ER11-V putter with a Gravity grip -Ball: I rotate between Pro V-1’s, TaylorMade Tour Response (with or w/o the stripe), or Callaway ERC Soft Triple Tracks Cheers to you, Mr. & Mrs. Robinson, and to Baby Robinsons pending arrival! And Happy New Year to all! LETS GO, 2023! 🙌🏾
Love playing the i210s even when I’m not playing my best, and G425 #5 hybrid is new go-to club, for anything longer than a 6 iron. Only non-Ping club I have is TM Mini driver which is great but wish there were some more shaft choices.
Going for a new set of fitted clubs in January. May keep my PXG 211 and my Tailor-made Ghost Smoke putter. No idea of what brand(s) at this point. Happy New Year.
My bag may be a mix of Cobra (D,F, 2 hybrids 4&5), Callaway (irons 6-pw), Mizuno (wedges G, S, & L), Taylor Made (putter), and Wilson (6 hybrid), but it works well for me. I know it sounds strange to have a 6 iron and a 6 hybrid, but the shaft length on the hybrid is a bit longer and gives me 5 iron distances. Same with the Cobra 4 and 5 hybrids. They replaced my 3 and 4 irons. They give me those distances with taller flights and more stopping power and they're just easier to hit well. I can't ask for more. I got that Wilson kind of on a lark. It's the D9 model. Ordered with Custom shaft and grip and shipped to my door for less than half the cost of the previous years model of the Cobra hybrids before customizing them. And I find it's a great club. Especially fun to hit on our home course on #10. It doglegs and there is a small forest of tall pines blocking the way. But that 6 hybrid just towers over them. Teeing it up just a little and tilting of the shoulders like I'm hitting a drive I get 6 iron distance with 9 iron height. It is truly a fun club to hit. And at 72 bucks for a custom club it's hard to go wrong.
i know what people say about dogs and dogwalkers on golf courses, but the dog has great timing for a missed putt, otherwise good vlog . Happy New Year guys to you and all your families
The new club for 2023 is going to be a fitted putter. I am planning on listening to the experts as far as type of putter. My current favorite is the Ping anser2. But lie is aid if I am going to pay for a club fitting I will listen to the experts.
I have Mizuno 223 irons but really thinking about putting ping i230 in the bag. And Scotty Phantom 5 in bag to get a little more consistency but I truly believe the cobra ltdx driver w a better shaft is the ideal driver
I currently have the LTDX, and plan on sticking with it. I have Srixon ZX5 irons, but don't love the flight. So I may look to replace those next. I want a forged head and hate heavy offset clubs, so I have been debating moving to a forged CB.
Noted spikeless golf shoes! Can you get the same grip in the winter? Cobtree this morning the course was extremely muddy and not so sure spikeless would of worked. Any thoughts on spikes or no spikes ?
I’m soo stupid. I’m trying to be smart and only play with my trusty old Titleist DCI Oversize + because they play straight and are forgiving. The feeling is not so good/nice but they work great. But I also want to play from time to time with my set of Titleist Tour Model blades from 1991 because they are soo pretty/sexy! Damn!
I feel like ping titleist mizuno never miss with their clubs Best brands imo I would say cobra too but I’m just not personally a fan of the feel of their putters and woods
Looking at new Ping irons but can’t decide between i525 for a bit of help or the i230 which feels like melted chocolate when I hit them but are shorter.
A just got the i525s a was same as you a i230s brilliant clubs for accuracy but lost about 10 yards compared to the i525s which also good for accuracy the people saying about the sound of i525s its not as bad they make out lovely clubs
@john grimes no worries both lovely clubs what ever you choose a tried a few p790s rogue St mizunos settled for the i525s but the rogue St were lovely also similar to i230s
If I can play golf with my dog in England and Scotland, I am going to consider emigrating. Too stuffy in the states. Especially if the dog is well mannered. He’ll stick with ping. Now they are finally making good looking irons with decent feel. Their drivers are still ugly and sound like a mix between a tin can and an aluminum baseball bat so they wont get played but their irons and hybrids are greatly improved.
Please don’t play when you have a dog dancing around you ,if you swing & he comes in your way the speed you hit the club to the ball you will Kill him / her ,have seen it in a long drive comp over in the states he killed is little dog ,never played again the golfer who killed is little dog sad to say
Love your 4 legged companion. He added a degree of humor in the video. Ping makes some great clubs all across the board IMHO.
The Pup is making me laugh so hard!! I love it!!
I am a scratch player and have been for 30 years. I now play the Ping 525 irons and love them. I did play Mizuno 923 before the Pings and Yonex blades for years before the Yonex. I am all Ping today.

JR giving the dog some treats before the round? Great in the bag, love Ping.
I will be adding a new putter, a 5 wood and a 7 wood! Ping fan but willing to test out woods to see what works best for me. Would love to take my handicap from 14 to 11
Going for my first ever iron fitting.. Trying ping 425, mizuno 923, stealth, tour edge c722 and titleist t300
Tried all those except tour edge at my fitting. Ended up with Mizuno 923 HM and very happy indeed with them
What an awesome experience.. getting fitted for the first time. After all the testing went with mizuno 923hm. Really appreciate all the club and ball reviews done on this channel. 👍⛳️🏌️♂️
I just put the I230 irons in the bag. 6 thru U wedge
thinking of doing the same. What tipped the decision on the U wedge vs say Glide 4.0 @ 50*? Contemplating this at the moment.
I'm a returning golfer after many years, my original clubs included 'wooden' woods, I've bought secondhand off fb mkt place but l need better clubs, l can't justify spending silly money on titleist, ping etc so I'm thinking of the costco Callaway Edge 10 piece set, think.l can justify spending money on those
Waiting on a set of Cleveland Launcher HB Turbos to get here. Also got a SIM 2 9 wood. I am old and I have a high handicap -- 18
My Ping G20 irons are staying in my bag even after all these years however I'm using the Taylormade Sim2 woods. 👍🏻⛳
Buying used i've been eyeing up the i210s and i500 irons however i've now been switched onto srixon, don't think they get enough attention. ZX7 irons and ZX5 driver.
Great chemistry between you and John I would like to try a set of cobra king one length CHEERS

Cheers to you, Mr. & Mrs. Robinson, and to Baby Robinsons pending arrival! And Happy New Year to all!
LETS GO, 2023! 🙌🏾
Just traded in my Ping G30 set for a brand new set of Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metal. What’s that, like a 15 year gap in technology?
Absolutely love them!
Replaced my old Callaway irons with Ping G425 5-UW and haven’t looked back.
Love playing the i210s even when I’m not playing my best, and G425 #5 hybrid is new go-to club, for anything longer than a 6 iron. Only non-Ping club I have is TM Mini driver which is great but wish there were some more shaft choices.
Try Adore Golf 😁
They'll cut and tip and grip you a shaft of your choice to the mini driver length from the driver/fairway wood selection they have.
I just replaced my 3 wood with a Ping G425 2 hybrid at 17 degrees. I’m ok with loosing some distance with more accuracy.
Going for a new set of fitted clubs in January. May keep my PXG 211 and my Tailor-made Ghost Smoke putter. No idea of what brand(s) at this point. Happy New Year.

Great dog, my buggers would run riot, James.. Treat yer self to a stand bag, keep up the good work
Just bought myself a new fitted stealth driver. Told my wife it was my push present!
Those copper blades look sooo sweet.
James how do you like the TM stripe?? Does it hold up well and perform? I’m a 13 handicap
Cheers mate 👍🏴

I'd have them cobras in my bag all year if you wanted to gift them to me 😉😂
Don’t think we never noticed you pinched his tee😅
Generally don’t like the look of Ping irons although I’ve never tried them . But their woods are always in my bags
TM Stealth Gloire driver review?
KEEP MY 425 IRONS AND PUT IN 425 DRIVER MAYBE CHANGE MY G 5 WOOD AND G 4 HYBRID FOR 425 CLUBS
Your dog is a star 👍
I had a 🦊 steal my ball on the green once
You Know I Love This 1:14
Love the Super...
I'm all Ping these days apart from Mizuno wedges.
What golf bags do you have?
Robbo stealing that tee kn the 1st tee 🤣
That’s a cool dog
What course is this
If I can play golf with my dog in England and Scotland, I am going to consider emigrating. Too stuffy in the states. Especially if the dog is well mannered.
He’ll stick with ping. Callaway is a destroyer of vintage lines. They purchased hogan, took the best line name. Spun it off, and the brand died. I just stay away from Callaway because of that.
Ping g430 max
425 max
Ugh, that weather is just rubbish
i cant look past the notch look and sound bad not a ping fan at all
Where did the dog come from
I'd be so afraid to hit the damn dog with every swing.
🐕
He must be sandbagging you, how could he hit that first iron shot with a dog hopping around in his backswing.
Ping have made the ugliest, worst sounding golf clubs on the market for the entire 25 years I have been playing golf. They do perform great but I could never get passed the terrible look and feel. Well done James I think he does right just having a 50 56 wedges in bag 🏌😊👍
I just replaced my 3 wood with a Ping G425 2 hybrid at 17 degrees. I’m ok with loosing some distance with more accuracy.
