- Following the launch of the new Ping G730 and i530 irons, Hannah Holden headed to the Ping European Headquarters at Gainsborough to hit all six irons in the current Ping line-up compare.
If you are after some Ping golf clubs in 2024 this is a must-watch to better understand which Ping iron is best suited to your game. We discuss the technology in each model, which is best for distance and consistency, and who benefits the most from a custom fitting.

Another very informative video. Never had Ping irons. Must give them a try next time.
I love Ping. My bag has lots of Ping clubs - driver, fairways, and hybrids. However, my irons are Srixons ZX5 MkIIs. I’ve always felt that Ping is missing an iron model in the middle. My choice is between clunkers with long blade lengths, thick top lines, and lots of offset (430 /730) or unforgiving players irons with short blade lengths, thin top lines, and little offset (230\530). My Srixon irons are perfectly in the middle. Just right. Ping needs a players distance iron for mid handicaps.
Why didn’t you also test the G Le3? There are many viewers who are interested in more than the regular ‘male’ irons.
@@Dretje none of the ones I hit are ‘male’ irons they are just golf clubs, you can have them custom built with the appropriate weight shaft for any club head speed. I wasn’t offered to test the G Le3 on the day.
@@hannahholdenNCG Ah, thank you for your reply. It was a letdown based on the title of your video (not every model was tested 😇). Me and my wife were realy looking forward to a comparison. She is contemplating the G430 or GLe's. She loves the look of the old Le2's.
I want to try the i530. Mid handicapper. Concerned about low spin rate. Not sure which shaft would increase the spin rate
Love my i230s. Wish the Blueprint S clubs had been around but guessing I maybe need the additional i230 forgiveness.
Upgraded my set to the i230 last year and love them. They were not what I expected to get fitted with, but I suppose that’s why it’s important to go and get fitted!
They have to be a great all rounder
Definitely!
It goes to show never gauge a book by its cover. The benefit of fitted club for all golfers is under estimated, especially at the higher handicap level. Great video showcasing the whole PING range.
Definitely!!
Just got Fitted for the i530 and really like them. Must try the blue print soon. Great content as always
Just bought Ping G430 irons,,,,Senior shafts 45g,,,,,Love them,,,,,
Love your content Hannah. I’m a Ping player and really appreciated this one! 🤙🏽⛳️🇨🇦
Interesting that 230, bps, and bpt all could work for you.
Yes very interesting!
probably should compare the G730 8 iron to the blue print 7 iron for a more apples to apples comparison if you are going to consider height and spin numbers?
I upgraded this winter to the i525 and they are great for me. I also got a g425 hybrid and 3 g430 hybrids. I love my Ping equipment.
I was fitted for i20s and never have found a better result from future fittings. I rarely hit anything other than D, 7 - L anyways. I pulled the low irons and game extra wedges. Consistency and accuracy are paramount, but neither make up for the flatstick😢.
Great review Hannah. I played i230s and love them but wanted a bit more distance so got fitted for i530s. And now I have added distance and forgiveness! Still love both irons so I will be keeping both.
Go Pings!
Good choice!
Tried the i530s, for me spin was way too low and decent angle too flat
Happy with my i210s and entering fourth season with them but I’d be interested to try i230s
Ping g's inserts fell out of most. Buyer beware. Complete garbage
Hannah can you clarify WTH Ping is doing with the 730 in regards to the 430? It just doesn’t register, the 430 is such a great iron, and now they’ve come out with a 730 that iiiiiiiisssss a super game improvement iron? I hit the 730 and it feels terrible! I’ll keep my 430s.
ditto!
730 is designed to be the most forgiving model so yes it’s their super game improvement offering which gives most height and forgiveness. 430 is slightly smaller and faster
Hannah can you send me some of that nice draw love your video's .
Ms. Holden- Fun video! I'd enjoy seeing you compare the old Ping Eye 2 irons to these 2024 clubs. Thanks
That would be fun!
Well that's as thorough a demo video as I've ever seen. I'd much prefer the blueprint models too. I like the higher spin rates and compact heads/thin top lines to chunky looking clubs. When I grow up, (I'm only 65) I want to purely smash the ball like you do. As a complement from and older fella, who usually sees you squinting in the sun, you've got beautiful eyes. Thanks for another great video Hannah. See you on the next episode.
The Blueprints are ace 🙌🏻 I also like a more compact club
Thank you Hannah, great reveiw. As you asked for a comment - I think you should go for the club head that gives you the most accuracy and smallest circle (landing average). For you it was the 3rd or 4th head (in the order you played them) with 4/5 balls very close together / slight right of centre.
I agree!!
He kept referencing "yours". Are you a Ping iron player too? Which model?
I was fit for G425s a couple years ago. I love to play them. Your G425 iron review is where I discovered your channel.
I have recently been fit for Ping i230. I am looking forward to playing them.
@@justinwildman698 very exciting!
@@hannahholdenNCG will let you know how the first round goes on Monday. Mixed Pairs Matchplay semi-finals. Woohoo!
Switched from Mizuno Jpx forged to the i230 games come on no end. Ping certainly making some cracking stuff at the moment
Love the i210!
interesting test/review - the blueprint models look great - especially the S
The S are lovely!
I love your videos, maybe play some other influencers as you deserve way more subscribers!! I have been playing golf over 30 years, never had a ping iron set, but the 530s feel amazing!! I love forged feel, would never guess they aren’t full forged, I am looking to replace my worn out Apex DCBs, they are on my short list, great classy video as always!!
People don’t seem to watch my vlogs as much as other stuff! 530s were great, went miles!
@@hannahholdenNCG do you have other channels? I am a 5 handicap but I use some “game improvement” clubs. You should play James Robinson, Matt Fryer, and of course Rick
Had a fitting with Ping, completely changed my bag 😂
@@paulmcgee1867 what did you go for?
It would have been interesting to see what the results would have been had you tried different shafts in the i530. Everything about the numbers, barring the spin rate you were getting, alluded to potential monster gains in distance without sacrificing anything else significantly. We all love blades yadah yadah yadah......the right shaft in that i530 head would be like showing up to the club mixed foursomes with Scottie Scheffler in tow!
a different shaft might have meant more spin and a bit less distance. But Hannah definitely had distance to burn with that club.
I would definitely combo i230/blueprint S at 8i-gw.
Blueprint s looks like a great option, buy a set of each😂😂
@@mikewilliams6086 🤣🤣
looks like the first set of irons was the most accurate and the longest? Best for a beginner?
Yes definitely!
Eye 2 Becu for me. 2-SW.
Hannah go with Ping Blueprint S.
They were very nice and I am tempted
Good reviews.
Which iron shaft are you using for your gamer?
I currently have True Temper AMT black stiff shafts
@@hannahholdenNCG Thank you.
Before that I had the pink g5s which were really nice clubs
I have Adam's idea irons from 2008 maybe I need a new set haha😂
Maybe 😅😅 imagine the gains
I actually just recently replaced my old 2008-2009 Adams Idea A7os hybrid iron set. I got fitted into the Ping i230s from U-5i and omg I absolutely love them. They feel amazing and look great. I purchased a used i525 4 iron from EBay that I swap in and out of my bag and it’s a rocket launcher when I square it up. Doesn’t feel as good as the i230, but it definitely goes for miles.
I still kept my old Adams 4 hybrid in my bag though. That thing is just so easy to hit and I love it.
Great video Hannah. I’ve always liked Ping but don’t always buy and play them. I always keep 3 sets of irons and play what I feel I need to play at the moment. Main gamer is the Titleist T100, then Miura MB001, then Callaway Epic forged irons. I feel I have all the categories covered from precision to distance.
Nice selection!!
Thank you Hannah for the outstanding video!
Ah thank you!
Curious what shaft you were using, thanks
Nice video, but you never answered the title question - which is the right club for you. Seems you were leaning to Blueprint S. Be interested is which you preferred and why. Thanks.
@@GroomsJk blueprint S for me!
Thanks. Love your channel. And your game is elite. J
Great video. i play i210s and not intending to change them for a while. Did try the i230s and oddly I found that they span a little less than my i210s, but they did feel softer than my i210s. For me the i210 was the better club.
Having seen the Blueprint S that would definitely be the club I would want if I changed from the i210, like the fitter suggested I might start with a 6i in the Blueprint S and maybe a 5i in the i230s
Yes I think 5&4 in the 230s would be a good combo for me too
You should have done a round with the Wilson blades.
The best club review I have seen , thankyou
Wow, thanks!
Just really great, educational content as always, and very impressive ball striking; blueprint s and i230 combo ? :)
Thank you!! Yes I am very tempted I have to say
Plaayeerr 😂 blades all the way Han. I’m rocking i525’s .5 hcp suits me fine
I’m too nervous to go for the blades 😅😅
I have a 425 max driver,ping g 5 wood ping zing 7 through SW,with a g 25 8 iron to boot,a 46 degree glide wedge ,ping Scottsdale half pipe putter,and a couple of cobra hybrids, lord what a hodgepodge 😅
Hannah in blades!
Imagine 👀
Ping Gainsborough is a really nice set up. My lad was really well looked after there.
Yes it’s great!
I would like to try the 530's. They seem interesting for a 13 hdc, not sure if I would strike them well enough though.
Just got fitted this year and came away pleasantly surprised with the results. I was fitted with g430 max driver and fairway woods and blueprint S Irons. I can't believe how tight the dispersion is with these clubs and the forgiveness. I've hit the longest drives ever in my life. The Blueprint S Irons are worth every cent. Forgiveness and workability are unmatched. Had to club down in a lot of circumstances, and that's with standard lofts. Ping has put the fun back in my game.
Blimey Hannah, you don’t have give it some😳
💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
75 years old G425 are what I play .
Nice choice!
@@hannahholdenNCGyou do fantastic content, love having a cuppa and watching.. Keep them coming Hannah
I like that Ping never really went crazy with the loft jacking. They kind of capped the strongest 7 irons in the 30* area. Wilson, Callaway and others went to 27* 7 irons which has simply destroyed the set up of a typical iron set. Now everything under a 7 will have huge gaps and everything over 7 iron will end up with little to no gaps. I still game the g425 simply due to how much they don't punish you. One thing that Ping has nailed is they make equipment that keeps the ball in play.
I've been rocking Ping i10's for years. I need new clubs. You said i should go in and swing but I dont have that option where I live. Should I make it happen (spend money to fly off the island I live on just to get twsted) or do l just go for what l'm feeling?
You should definitely be rocking the Blueprint S btw.
Tempted by the two "i" clubs. I've gamed a set of fit G400s for years. Last summer, I picked up a set of used iE1s in my flex/length/lie combo for a second home to avoid dragging clubs around. Distances are bit different due to loft changes, but there doesn't seem to be much in it for forgiveness. And the pitching wedge is a much better weapon for shots around the green than the G400.
Great content and swing Hannah. Really like your videos! I’ve only played Ping and am looking forwarded to trying these models out in a future fitting!:) Thanks for the great model comparison
Distance with irons is a bit of an illusion. What you want is a club that hits the ball the right distance and a set with reasonable gaps. On a typical course (not tour length), a 175 yard 7-iron does mean you may not need much for fairway woods or longer irons. But it could leave bad gaps on shorter clubs where you are looking for precise distances.
Love my i59s are the Blueprint S the current equivalent? Although small find the i59s are sneaky forgiving so as someone who loves a Ping would be interesting to know what's the options.
Got fitted and the i230s with worked for me, until I learned the price. I decided to keep my mixed bag of Mizuno JPX 900, 919 & 921, HMPs.
I'm interested in testing the G 730's and 430's. Also the I530 model. Loved the video. Very informative.
I recently got fit with the i525 with stiff DG 120 shaft. I love the distance and forgiveness you get from them. The bonus is that with my swing speed, I still manage to get 6500 spin with a 7 iron. Can't see me changing anytime soon!
I’ve got the Ts and I love them. They’re gorgeous and really forgiving for a blade!
Still playing i210 and love the feel with a little help. Distance control is epic.
I love the look of the I530's. I just can't afford them.
Ping clubs are great!
Absolutely!
Pro spec G710 irons here.
Nice!
I love my Ping driver. I like their woods and hybrids. Their irons just feel clunky at best.
The blueprints are definitely changing that narrative
I was down there 3 weeks ago & after testing the I230 (which I wanted)Paul actually tested me with the Blueprint S & hey ho the set is now in the bag.Jack Backhouse has said that they’re some of the best irons he’s hit.I used the i210’s & the difference in dispersion is amazing ⛳️👍
How long did it take yours to arrive after ordering?
I got fitted frm my old G clubs to the 730 and the Ping fitter went straight to the 730, nothing else came into his picture. Maybe he took one look at me as a 73year old, slightly overweight player swinging at 80mph and made his decision?
Did you hit them better? Fitters see so many golfers they are like coaches, they tend to know the right thing to do quite quickly
The Ts hanna
Am I brave enough is the question
Love this fitter!
Billy is great!
The 7 iron is strong loft 29 degrees.
Great video but what the hell is that guy doing standing there in the background all about 😂
Good question 😂😂
You are smooth , good swings !
Thanks!
So going with blades ? 🤪🤪🤪

Still play my G25s
Nice of the Ping man to suggest a blended set with 3,4,5, in the i530. Problem is they start at a 4 iron.
@@PamelaLathan you can get i530 pw - 3 iron
@@hannahholdenNCG Hi Hannah, just looked on the site and they start at a 4. Only reason i picked up on this is i got a 4 for testing and wanted to buy the 3.
Ping eye 2 is the best ping iron even today.
They were class irons
Fantastic review, Hannah! Your thorough testing of each Ping iron model really clarified the differences and strengths of each one. I especially appreciated how you highlighted the sound and feel differences, which are so crucial in choosing the right club. This video is incredibly helpful for someone like me who's trying to decide between forgiveness and control. Thanks for breaking it down so clearly-definitely helps in making an informed decision!

What about the I-blade?
I believe they are out of line now
I love my Ping driver. I like their woods and hybrids. Their irons just feel clunky at best.
Ping eye 2 Becu
Great irons
Would have been good to see the dispersion of each for comparison. You did that with the first ones then stopped showing it for the blue print.
Ahh my bad! My blueprints had smaller dispersions
I really don't get this, back in the day ping had one iron in range, then after time went on theired be a G and either an S or I iron, but now this is ridiculous ping seem to be diluting their own market share, theirs to much choice I really do not understand it
Every iron brand has lots of choice for different categories of golfer. A club golfer likely would use a blade just like a tour pro likely wouldn’t use G430s. They are just giving people more optimal choices for their games.
“My Blueprints”😉 Are they in the bag? I picked one up…again, in the pro shop today. They are beautiful but I really like my Cobra King Tour.
