Hi Tshepo, I'm also South african. I wanted to ask, I have no knowledge in Linux. Will I be able to comprehend the course or not and sources did you use? Is udemy alone more than enough?
U don’t have to have 5yrs experience but you can put 5 yrs or 3 or 4 yrs experience and just be confident and take your chance. My friend just got three months ago a database administrator job and put 6yrs experience on his cv but had none… it is a 100k job………just was trained and stack up his cv and that is all
Dear Jama, you CAN do RHCE without RHCSA. However, you will not receive your RHCE certificate unless you go back to basics and pass RHCSA. This is odd and silly. My guess is that they are just making more money.
What did you use to prepare for the exam? I went on Red Hat website and the course is $3400 us dollars for just the first course. That is way too expensive for me. Any recomendations would be apprceciated. Thank you
First of all, thank you for the information contained in the video, it is very interesting. I have a RHCSA certification from 2010. And I have continued working during all this time with Linux, and of course, with RHEL. Is it strictly necessary to recertify as RHCSA?
No, it's not! If it won't add anything to your career growth or knowledge (since you already know the product), then there's not need to get this cert and spend so much money imo.
Well, that’s great news. Sorry to hear that your employer doesn’t cover this cert, such a shame. On the other side, this cert is a great investment on its own.
i have essentials knowledge in Linux. i will appreciate to you, if you give advice on which materials on internet are best to learn? there is a tonn of materials on internet. But which one is good for starting learning Redhat ? thank you in advance
I have worked as desktop support for 4 months and currently support engineer (infra) for 10 months. I want to advance my career by jumping to another company, so is it possible to get rhcsa and use that to possibly get higher pay? Because my current company use a lot of rhel os in certain environment and I know how important they are when we want to do the deployment. So what do you think?
Thanks. I have certification for rhel 6 7 Then changed track in chemical engineering. Rhel 9 is different from above versions I can crack rhel 9 with my prior knowledge. Response will be appreciated 👍
So just to make sure I got it correctly: You had certification on version rhel 6 and 7 and then switched to chemical engineering. Now you’d like to understand if you can pass certification on rhel 9? Or do you just want to know if you can work with rhel 9?
@@jamastechtalks thanks for response first of all.. ❤️ I can understand and get certification of rhel9 with previous knowledge of rhel6 7 How rhel9 is different above version How it's relevance in present job scenario
Really well explained! Thanks for doing these videos. Hope you and the baby are doing well!

Did they have any experience prior?
Please explain this in more detail. Thanks
How old and what experience did they have
I think about 2 years in security and a few months in red hat Linux

Yes that is right, so not much point to doing a RHCE certification if you will not do an RHCSA at some point
Great video, thanks Jama!
Thank you so much for sharing this, it added so much clarity for me

Great video, are you going to do tutorials as well?
Do recommend getting the Linux+ before the RHCSA?
If you want to do RHCSA, you can skip Linux+. If you want to do both, then yes, it can be good idea to start from Linux+.
Thanks. Greetings from Colombia. Hope to learn about Red Hat from you.
Recientemente obtuve RHCSA 9. En mi empresa donde trabajo (IBM) me pagaron el curso el examen. Asi que aproveche estos beneficios.
Did you pass the exam?
@@jamastechtalks yes

@@jamastechtalks Yes, my employer paid me the voucher to take the exam and also paid me a one-year leave.
Oh, then I translated your comment incorrectly. That’s great then!!
I already have RHCSA certification and need help finding a related job
Good luck!
