  • Pretty sure I've never seen this done before! Create beautiful beads and veneers using my image transfer cane technique. Beads look like faux stones and the veneer for cabochons and pendants look like a wispy smokey water color effect. I know your gonna love this one! Keep them natural matte or add super high gloss with From The Heart Supplies new EZ Brush On Uv Resin. Either way they are simply gorgeous!

    These beads are gorgeous; beautiful marbly colours. What a fantastic technique. The little flashes of foil peeking through add the perfect finishing touch. Super pretty beads. Going to have to check out that new resin, even though I'm in the UK, looks fab!! I do love to glaze my pieces with resin .... I think it was your videos that got me into UV resin!!👍😀🤗😊

    Awesome! The larger beads are gorgeous. That little bit of gold leaf really adds that touch of sparkle.
    The smaller beads remind me of the candy bracelets I used to eat when I was a kid. LoL

    I've done translucent veneers over a solid core too, and I also drop it in ice water immediately. I usually use Premo translucent, and the ice-bath really helps.. And I've sometimes used a different pastel color for my core, that then shows through and gives a background tint to the finished piece. The whole core doesn't have to be in that color, either. I've used scrap clay for the core and pre-bake it, then put a very thin layer of my solid opaque color over it, and then the translucent veneer on top.
    And a tip for cleaning the resin brush - I've seen a different tutorial where they have a bottle of UV gel nail polish that comes with a brush cap. They use the brush from it to spread any kind of UV resin on the piece, and then store the brush back in the nail polish bottle. The opaque bottle keeps the UV polish on the brush from setting up, so you never actually have to clean the brush.

    Also, I have this glass bird and a piece of the wing is broken I couldn't find the broken wing so I'm going to try and make a wing out of polymer clay then bake then I will let it cool then UV resin. Will the polymer clay adhere to the glass or will I need to glue it on after it's baked.? Thank you

    Beautiful work. thank you, I have a question I hope you can help me. I have been trying to repair chipped pieces of ceramic with polymer clay then UV resin Also I've been trying to use just UV resin on the more shallow chips but when I paint the resin over the polymer clay the resin like just soaks in the clay and is not shinny. Also, do you think the repairs will wash off when put in the water?

  • @silverguardiancreations2014

    Hey Allison just watched this video again you said we could use scrap clay how would you do that with the translucent? I have 2 note books of left over projects

    Love the tutorial. If you print your own image on the transfer paper, does it matter if you use a laser or inkjet printer?

    • @ThinkingOutsideTheBox

      The paper only works with a laser printer. If you don’t own a laser printer you could always purchase the image file and a copy shop can print them out for you on the paper. 😊

    Given that the image doesn’t show up in the finished project, I don’t understand the use of the image transfer here. It woulda been much easier, not to mention it’d use the *precise* colors you want in the shapes you want, had you used something like alcohol inks instead. (You coulda used *any* substance that works with polymer clay instead, including using polymer clay. That seems to be the most popular method for achieving marbling.) Was there a good reason I’m not grokking for using the image transfer? As it stands, it feels as if you used the image transfer merely to demonstrate how to do it and not because it was the best method for reaching your objective. Thanks for helping me to understand!

    • @ThinkingOutsideTheBox

      Image transfer stays completely transparent.

    • @Binkles
      @Binkles 3 роки тому +1

      @@ThinkingOutsideTheBox But so do alcoholic inks and tinted liquid polymer, off the top of my head, so I thought there was a special reason you were doing image transfers (which are lost when the polymer is twisted up). But I got you now! Thanks for letting me know.

    • @ThinkingOutsideTheBox
      @ThinkingOutsideTheBox  3 роки тому +1

      @@Binkles it’s a good way to use your scraps from image transfers. Rather than using scraps in this vid, I created some special transfers.

    I don't understand why you are doing the transfer - you could just brush the clay with purple pastel, couldn't you? Just trying to understand it - is it so the color doesn't mix in with the clay?
