  • “The defense’s strategy here is they have no strategy,” says MSNBC Legal Analyst Charles Coleman. “We are at the point where I can honestly say that Todd Blanche may be in over his head.” Chris Hayes, Alex Wagner, Lisa Rubin, and Charles Coleman discuss Michael Cohen’s testimony on cross-examination in the Trump criminal trial.

This Lisa Rubin is really sharp. I've seen her several times, and I'm impressed.

All really good points ,I admire Choen, call me crazy, but he had the guts to come forward knowing he wouid more then likely (and he did )go to prison ,it still stuns me that Trump still has so many faithful followers .

I've become a huge fan of both Charles Coleman and Lisa Rubin over the last 6 months or so. Not to ignore the incredible talent of Alex Wagner, Chris Hayes or the rest of the lineup--but I hope that Charles and Lisa continue to get treated seriously as contributors and anchors over the next few years.

It is hard to defend someone who is guilty isn't it.

Michael Cohen is the living lawyer that Trump wishes he still had. Don't want to contemplate what he's done to try to raise the shade of Roy Cohn.

When a lawyer is on the stand and being questioned, it seems likely that they would be considering the questions and their answers because they want to understand what point they are trying to make. That doesn't make him 'shifty' - it makes him cautious. Cohen is fully aware of how lawyers use questions to attempt to paint pictures and distort truth. 🤔

I've been obsessed with Trump and his risk to our democracy since J6.

Whatever bad consequences follow for Blanche, he deserves them for the way he nodded next to Trump while Trump lied about not being allowed to testify. I think he deserves disbarment.

Brilliant prosecution. Detail after detail corroborated. Enfeebled defense. There is no defense for Trump. 34 counts times five years each is the appropriate sentence for Trump.

The "in over his head" analysis was ON POINT! Federal prosecutorial practice is different from state defense practice. It's a different skill-set.

Please...hold Trump accountable and redeem out justice system. Jail seems warranted if guilty, but even more important is holding him accountable, showing America that we still have a justice system. If we don't do this, others will give the law the finger just like Trump, and this is not good for all of us.
