It’s weird, you hear of suicides so many times you tend not to spare too much thought for it - but when you hear an individual story each one hits home so hard! RIP the man’s son and bless him too!
I think that's one of the incredible things about humanity in general. As Iain says at a point in this call, "everybody has the cards they're dealt..." to paraphrase, the individual stories are what get us attached. If we only know the figures, the impersonality doesn't allow us the connect. When we hear about another's life, another's situation, the relationship becomes visceral. The humanity shows through, every time. We need to be reminded of the journey others take every now & again. It can help one feel connected in an otherwise cold, desolate world.
